- In this video my husband and I share our love story, how we met, and how the Lord brought us together. We also speak on the importance of the Lord's timing in relationships.
I was in a relationship for 2 1/2 years. Ended up getting engaged to be married. We were engaged for 6 months and our wedding was scheduled for January 2020. Half way through our engagement I heard the lord speak and tell me not to marry my fiancé, and that he wasn’t the one. Long story short, it was the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make in my life, but I chose to be obedient to God and walk away. I am choosing to wait. I know what the Lord promised me and I know his timing is perfect. I know that obedience is better than sacrifice so I’m choosing to wait on God and to follow him. It hurts because I did love him, but I’d much rather be in the will of God.

I’m 62 years old and I’m still waiting on God’s timing. Single since getting saved at 26 in 1987. I’m always amazed at these stories and I’m happy when people find each other! I know just how hard it is, and though I may not find that love, it’s a beautiful thing!

Kamila, me too! :) 39 and waiting! I was told to wait for marriage when I was 26! When I was 32, I got tired of waiting and the Lord sent me to NYC (I went there to meet guys at a Christian singles event - but God had other plans) so that Pastor Jim Cymbala would change his sermon at the last minute and give a 17 minute message on waiting. If you go to the Brooklyn Tabernacle site and look for a sermon titled 'Wait' from May 2012, that's the word and warning that I received, that if I rush to get married (I met a guy that weekend), I would regret it the rest of my life. So God continues to send me encouragement that I need to keep waiting. I'm called to wait longer than others, but the Lord deserves my obedience! I love being the Lord's; there's nothing more amazing than being a follower of Christ. In this time of waiting, I have gotten closer to God more than I ever imagined and have been through more God ordained adventures than I ever expected to go through as a single woman. But where God guides, He provides. And what's interesting, when I want to stop thinking about marriage, it is actually the Lord who tells me to be ready and to make marriage a priority for myself. God has shown me that it is actually more important to Him than to me that I get married (which blows my mind). And He has reserved a certain guy just for me. If I wasn't shy and if I didn't receive a commandment to keep certain things to myself, I would share my journey on how the Holy Spirit continues to lead me to be a wife, even though I'm single. Through growing in Christ, God has taught me that my greatest reward is the Lord and the journey to Him is a gift from Him. In this long season (though it has flown very quickly!!) I have healed from many emotional wounds and have had many spiritual breakthroughs that will allow me to enter marriage as a very healthy individual. God is our ultimate goal, but one of God's goals for us is a successful and God ordained marriage. I don't know why He has designed for some of us to wait this long, but I also don't know why He has chosen to reveal Himself to many of us at a young age. All I know is that Jesus will never leave us and that we can trust Him and rest in Him.

Some people have spirit spouses and think it's God's will to wait for a long time. I beg to differ, sometimes it is not part of God's will to wait a long time. It's been hijacked by the enemy in some way. Please look into it. Sometimes it's even got to do with generational curses and covenants made by ancestors in the past that need to be repented for, renounced and broken. You need to put on the full armour of God and go into Spiritual warfare. Check Min. Kevin L.A. Ewing right here on RUclips.

That same still, small voice whispered to me the first time me and a platonic coworker made a quick shopping run. As we were walking through the store, I heard plainly, “That’s who you’re gonna be with.” What??!! That's very true. It's not a complete cut and dry answer. First example, King David was anointed to be the next king of Israel when he was 16, but he did not actually become king until he was 30. He had to spend 14 years running from King Saul who was trying to kill him.

@@mpholetsela7391 Correct, God's timing and God's will are two different things. My example with King David shows that when he got anointed the timing (for him to actually become king) was wrong but it was in God's will that he would become the king eventually. He just had to endure a 14 year trial running from King Saul
Wow. This is crazy. This is what is happening in my life right now. I am 18 years old. I moved to a new town 7 hours away from my family. I started going to my church 8 months ago. The very first person I meet was B our church secretary. I started to get to know here and her husband. She had mentioned that they had a son a year older than me. 3 months later I was at youth group. This guy L came in and I got butterflies in my stomach and a beautiful sense of peace. Few months went by and would see him here and there. 2 weeks ago I was going to me moving. I was praying to God and asked him why I was here. And what He wanted with this guy L. I heard him audibly say. “ Sarah my daughter, I know your heart. Be patient. When you are both ready I will bless you two forever”. L doesn’t even no I have feeling towards him. It is so hard to not go over and talk to him about it. But God has a great timing. I just have to be patient

I am 26 years old. I met my fiancé right at this time last year on a mission work. It’s very interesting when you are not obsessed about or worried about finding a man, God some how provides the right one at the right time. We will be getting married next year!!!! Honestly, God’s timing is perfect. My fiancé is my greatest blessing, after the gift of knowing Jesus Christ my savior.

I’m a sucker for stories like these, specifically fundamentally founded on the Lord. I have felt the Lord speaking to me to dive further deeper into his word and continue to build the church I’m building now. But one of my biggest, top 3... maybe too 2 hearts desires is to be loved so intentionally and have that effortless connection, but God is directing to cultivate my relationship with him and continue to run towards Him. it’s a back and forth, struggle bc my heart yearns for that but to wait, just hurts. BUT with that may the Lord bless your marriage ❤️

I'm 18 years old, and I just started college. I'm the type of girl who loves love, the idea of love, wishing for love and praying for love. Y'alls story is so so so beautiful and encouraging and just absolutely filled with God's love. That is good to look up to loving your spouse one day, but there is a type of love, that is unconditional, strong and that fills you in a way, that human never will, and that is the love of God. The more you will seek to honour God and be a good servant in His eyes, the more you will be likeable to people and be ready to get married. I would encourage you to make the most of the time in singleness and establish your relationship with God.

And I have huge desire to see my family , my husband working together for God's kingdom and shaking the foundations of hell with prayers ! See God working in my kids life through me , pouring my all love on them .
This gave me Hope after a heart break from from separation, years of custody battle with a narcissist. This encouraged me recommit my relationship with God and to wait on his timing... He's already blessed me by giving me my kids back and to be a able to provide for them. 😊

You both are the first people to perfectly put into words what I have gone through the past month, I met my fiance on 7/16 and we are getting married on 12/13. To have the experience of God's choice and someone loving you through God's eye is so amazing. I pray that everyone will have a chance to experience it.

I broke up with my boyfriend 4 mother's ago because God told us we were not prepared... Wether he is the one or he is not, this just encouraged me to really believe that he is preparing me for what is yet to come.

The embrace, in which you described, is something very similar to what I experienced. There was also a turbulent waiting period that required trusting God. I knew, from the moment, she held my hand, in the manner in which she did, that she was me Eve. Bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh. When we hugged for the first time, there was something absolutely transcending. My wife and I have a spiritual connection, a love from God, that is breathtaking. Our story is unconventional, and in that place, you will find our Heavenly Father. Thank you for sharing your story.

So happy I found this, I’ve spent afternoon upset , I met a man a Muslim man separated with two kids living in my country in Europe. We met after talking for a month and I’ve been alone since Jesus saved me from occult two years ago. I’ve been praying for a husband as I’m almost 40 now and I got a bit swept up by this man but I just know it’s not from God and it’s really me following my own will. I respect his faith however I know in my heart it would be so difficult and God wants me to wait for him to lead me . It’s so hard it really is , my trust is in Jesus
I for sure needed to hear this today. The Lord called me to singleness and I THINK it was Him that specifically told me “8 months, Kelsey.” It’s been about 4 months in my season of singleness and I’ve been running toward the Lord and really doing my best to focus on Him and lean on Him. Last weekend, I was talking to somebody I knew of but don’t truly know and I heard the Lord say, “this is your husband.” I was like whooaaaa what? I actually had to walk away for like 10 min to process what I heard. I KNOW that I can’t pursue this person and to be honest, I don’t even know his last name or if this person even has a relationship with God. Sooo I’m waiting on God’s timing and I know He will bring us together if that’s truly His will for me. I feel like God is still teaching me how to lean on Him and trust Him, but I thought it was pretty cool to see a glimpse of who my future husband may be. Also, realizing that up until God said “this is your husband” that every single interaction we had, was great and I for sure had been physically attracted to him. God is good and I’m waiting on Him!! Also, this is the first time that I’m not pursuing a worldly relationship and only pursuing my relationship with God!!! Thanks for sharing your story. Keeps giving me faith! 🙌🏼✝️

The Lord told me six months and I am not two months into being celibate and happy. Best part of being pure is I am growing deeply in His love and I am grateful for what he is doing in my life.
kimberly m his sheep know his voice. And God will give revelation in bible verse. For me I heard the Lord voice all the times because I have a Relationship with God, and everything He told me comes to pass.

My wife and I have been married for over 47 years. Your four month relationship was kind of like ours only we did it in about 18 months. So many things you said resonated in our relationship. We have been reminiscing about our dating, engagement and marriage and couldn’t agree with you more. We are experiencing health issues right now but like I said over 47 years ago “in sickness and in health“. Aaaaawe! You guys made me cry!! 😭 Your love for the Lord and Jesus is so beautiful! I'm already 40 and after almost dying during my explant surgery in March, I connected more to God than before. He gave me my life back! 🙌🏽 The past months have been wonderful and slowly but surely I was saying goodbye to my old life and habits. On the 22nd of September I will be baptized, because I finally feel ready for it. In this season of singleness God is enough. I'm already 40 years old, but my deepest hope is to be married one day and have a child with my husband. I don't know if that will ever happen, but like you guys said: I'm trusting God's timing. For which obedience were they rewarded again? The part where she had sex before marriage and he was watching pornography while they were engaged? It is utterly confounding to me how some people can commit such sins and be rewarded with a beautiful, Christian spouse at a young age while others, by God's grace, resist such sinfulness but remain alone well for years. Try being 37 and never having anyone while still remaining a virgin because, by God's grace, you desire to honor Him.
Please don't misunderstand me. I am not casting the first stone; I am well aware of my own sinfulness and need for Christ's saving sacrifice. Nor am I in any position to question how and why God bestows the blessing of marriage on some but not on others. But ya ... it feels completely absurd. Then again .... the truth is that the only thing we "deserve" is death for sin. And by God's grace, we are saved from getting what we deserve. So I suppose it is foolish to feel as though one "deserves" anything, especially a spouse. Forgive me for writing this. I am not trying to denigrate you both.

We pray that the Father’s love reaches into the deepest parts of your heart and washes away the pain you’ve experienced/ may be experiencing. We don’t pretend to know every aspect of the Father’s will but we do believe that when we come into relationship with Jesus, He “will be merciful to their unrighteousness and their sins and lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Hebrews 8:12

Such a view is legalistic at best and flies in the face of God's abundant and amazing grace. And if such a thing were true than no one would receive any blessings, least of all myself. That comment about "just because God's said that this is in your future, doesn't mean that now is the right time to reach out and take it" ... that's a gut-punch to me. Because that's exactly what happened to me, and it ruined my life. Shattered my peace. Broke my heart. God is still good. He still provides sweet comfort. But there's still definitely more pain than joy these days. These years. And I'm still largely living in a wasteland with no visible hope or future in my life. Wandering around in circles, no idea what to do next.
At the same time, it does actually help, too. Because now at least I can see the reason (or some of the reason) why I ended up here, what made it all come unglued. So thank you for that. And knowing what happened last time is halfway to knowing how to make sure it never happens again, so thanks for that too. Thanks. Thanks.

From watching this video and reading some of the comments, it really goes to show that His sheep know His voice (John 10:27). There's no mistaking his voice. Of course, we should always test the spirits (1 John 4:1) and seek biblical counsel (Proverbs 1:5).
I, too have heard the Spirit say certain things to me, making certain promises. It hasn't come to fruition yet. However, one thing I have learned is how discouraging it can be when what God has said contradicts our life circumstances. And if I can encourage anyone who has heard the voice of the Spirit and received sound, biblical confirmations - yet, your circumstances contradict what the Spirit has told you - trust God anyway. He does not lie or break His promises (Numbers 23:19). Trust Him anyway. He knows what He's doing. If His promise hasn't come through yet and you're worried and fretting about it - don't. If it really is God's will, it will happen in His timing and in His way. And if it's not His will, it's not and that's okay too. Either way, trust Him. It is so much easier to surrender these things to God than to worry about things you can't control. If you get nothing else out of this post at least get this: Trust in Him. He's got this. Trust Him.
Wow thanks a lot! I’m in a situation exactly what you describe. In my heart I know feel it from God but when I try to reason out in my mind its not possible we’re from different culture, different age group, we live in different provinces,,,, it goes on, so i just wanna dismiss it but In my heart I cant
I literally wanted to just cry...and give up on waiting on God's plan and just make my own plan even though I know I will eventually get hurt and ask God to help me out of it. Or when I think who am I for God to bless me like that.... It feels like I need encouragement every day and today your comment has gave me exactly what I needed.

My story goes like this: I became born again Christian in 25 July 2017 and single since then.I had really one of the best jobs in my town when the Lord showed me that I have to quit and go and work on a ship and I did so. I worked on two ships and spoke with many many people about God but interesting part was that I met this guy with the most beautiful eyes ever seen and I notice it because every time I look at him he was already looking at me and at this time I was really very low in my self esteem thinking it is not possible guy like him to like me. So I went out of the ship and prayed about him and I opened my bible randomly just to spent time with God and I start to read this verse of song of solomn which says I finally found the one my soul love so imagine my shock of it and before I continue a woman stop by and ask me jf I read the bible I said yes and she invited me to a worship service that they make on a ship one per year, unfortunately it was later this evening and I had to be at work but it was for me a 100% confirmation that the Lord is speaking to me. I kept praying and one day while I was at work and see him I hear this voice on my right side this is the man you're going to marry and very very worm and surprising feeling goes on my body I start to even laugh because I would never say this to myself I was very low self esteem thinking is no chance somebody to like me the way I was. I finally found his profile on social media saying on his cover " I belong to Jesus" so I kept praying and same time it was exactly as u said I felt I locked eyes with him and then this urge to run away because I was not ready. The very last evening before I go home and finisb the season I ask him for a moment outside of the restaurant where we were with the crew and I have this urge to ask him for his necklace, he said it was a Cross and he share with me he has near death experience and hear Jesus told him not time for him yet so he came back to. Life and he said he was a beliver. The thing is he had girlfired who cheated on him many times and he was totally heart broken and I couldn't understand how is possible this to be my husband and he is not single but your story helpa me a lot. Now we do not have any contacts we finish the job and the only way we meet will be in God's timing. Later when I go home I felt I want to check this restaurant it was in Germany and I di not speak German and imagine my surprise when I saw the name of the restaurant was " The holy spirit"... God is so great and it ks the best when he write our love stories and to be honest I will wait all my life for this guy if God said it is him

He’s calling us to wait, and hasn’t said whether he has a future for us as husband and wife. Your willingness to wait and seek the Lord had encouraged me so much. It's been CHALLENGING, confusing at times (becuz i wanted things to go the way *I* thought they should😕🙈👀), definitely a learning experience, eye-opening, and SO much more. I'm learning the faithfulness of God and just how much BETTER it if to just wait on HIS timing!! There have also been many things that have stretched me &helped to grow in my relationship with Jesus while in the waiting. IT HASN'T BEEN EASY, BUT I AM LEARNING SO MUCH. It's becoming more and more rewaring as time passes & as the Lord gives me more wisdom and insight and confirmations on His will concerning the whole thing. I'm now less than a year away from joining the married clan, (the Lord was so kind as to even give me the exact month i need to know to be prepared by🙏💕😭) ...it's coming soon...so i SOOO SERIOUSLY needed this encouragement because my story also is very unconventional like you all's. I've known for several years that the engagement timing is going to be SHORT AND SWIFT when the season came for God to bring my FH and me together, so God's been preparing me. I'm much like your husband, where I WANT to move at it NOW because the person God has for me is right within reach, but God's like, "Nope. Not yet. I GOT this." lol ...AND GOD's TIMING IS CRUCIAL, which i've learned in a whole new way this season.
((I'm taking up too much space in this good ol' comments section, sooo, i'ma stop ....after this next paragraph...😂😂)
...but jokes aside, honestly, you guys, i can't express how SOOOOO UNBELIEVABLY ENCOURAGING THIS TESTIMONY IS TO ME @THIS VERY MOMENT--YOUR STORY IS SO SIMILAR TO WHAT MY LIFE LOOKS LIKE RIGHT NOW,....(no wonder God led me to watch this🙌..). HE WANTED TO REMIND ME THAT I MOST CERTAIN CAN TRUST HIS EVERY MOVE IN THIS SEASON...MAN.... I COULD CRY!!!!!!!!

I've recently come to the Lord and I had walked into a church about a year ago and there was one guy on stage singing worship and he just caught my attention.. I ended up never meeting him, or talking to anyone that day at church and didn't go back till the first Sunday of this year. He was up there singing again and the same feeling came to me. I ended up meeting some of the other young adults at the church and actually started talking to this guy for a while and it was great, I loved it. But it was clear that it was a friendship, nothing more. A few month later a few people (including this guy and I) went on a weekend adventure stayed in cabins and did some hiking and it was awesome. But I have asthma, so I can have difficulty with hiking mountains and need to rest every so often. This guy was sick at the time so he also wasn't moving very fast so we were the two trailing people of the group... And I really enjoyed it, actually. I started really developing feelings for him and it's been over 8 months since I first talked to him and there have been so many times when the group has done outings or just hung out or at bible studies and what not and in my head I'm like "Ooo, maybe he'll finally ask me out" and he never did. So I started thinking, maybe I should ask him out.. and every time I want to ask him out, I end up backing out and just not asking him, now realizing it's the Holy Spirit telling me to wait so I can grow closer to God before a person.
And just the other day I had a breakdown and went to one of the pastors we talked and prayed and it's like all the pieces are starting to fall into place because I was thinking about some things, went to youtube and this video was in my recommendations. I saw it and was like "nah" and clicked on a different video and then quickly went back and clicked on this vide because I felt the Holy Spirit telling me to watch this. And it has opened my eyes up so much and I can't begin to thank you for posting this video! So thank you.
This was very encouraging, thank you! To see how God blessed y’all through your obedience is truly encouraging. I have been single for almost a year now and it has been hard to wait, especially since I have that great desire to be a wife. This was a great reminder that we never know how God will move and that our waiting produces perseverance and is not for nothing when we press into Him! And that when He releases that blessing, it is better than anything we could have ever imagined!

Earlier this year I had to heal from walking away from someone who wasn't right for me, and I made the decision to seek God and stay single because I'm still growing in my relationship with Him and learning to hear His voice. I used to be so obsessed with the idea of finding a boyfriend or my future husband, but God keeps encouraging me to wait for the person He has for me and I feel so much more peace and confidence in that. Even in the past month there've been several men showing interest in me and it feels like I'm being bombarded with distractions but I'm learning to keep my eyes fixed on God.
