This is a small Alexa Mini LF I match this perfectly with this short film I shot a year ago. After that I shot a big budget feature film " Dark Secrets 2024 " entirely on 6k pro and it pass the screening in Warner Bros studios on a cinema screen. Look this is a beast of a camera and it can do everything that red and alexa can do. Great review. Always use 3:1 braw if you wanna get Pro results...

this is not full frame
big difference with arri sensors will always be the size of the photosite of 8 microns, the only budget camera that matches the arri photosite sizes is the sony fx3 but sadly a lot cinema features are missing, i cant quite find the size of the bm cameras photosite, if you have any info on this please share, im having an eye on the full frame one.

100% on this. Been shooting a feature doc exclusively with this set-up and it’s a dream. You didn’t even mention the internal NDs, which is probably in my top 3 things I love about this camera. My “one thing” I don’t like is just trying to find a way to stabilize this beast. It’s a nightmare for gimbals and the gyro data just isn’t good enough to stabilize with in post. Throwing an FX3 on a gimbal is a dream and it has the BMP6K beat on that. But whatever, gimbal’d footage is overrated imo anyway. :) great vid, subscribing!

I've had my BMPCC 6K for almost 2 years now, I haven't got the pro so I use ND filters, but even so, I'm not sure that I could really switch to much else now because its so easy and intuitive to use. BRAW is an absolute delight, and I'm thinking of getting a few studio G2s to use as B-Cams.

I just wrapped a 5 day documentary production with about 1.5 TB for 7-8 hours of footage in 5.7K BRAW. I filmed in constant quality Q5. I recommend anyone reading this to give Q5 or Q3 a try on your next production. It’s not data taxing as you dread.
Also, embrace the noise without over doing it. Matt Porwoll talked about this when breaking down his work on the Oscar winning doc “Cartel Land”.

I don't know if BMD have change the internal structure of this design, but if I remember it correctly, it is specifically mentioned to add a cage for the top handle, as the camera is so heavy, mounting the top handle just on the top screw is not recommended for the weight.
Have you tried the rolling shutter correction in gyro stabilzation mode in Resolve?
what you choise constant quality or constant bitrate ? what is your braw you used
I typically use 3:1 BRAW I think that constant Bitrate

@@TheOrisya sure, but you asked, so i had to reply hehe. i prefer the gimbal like stabilization of the S5iix in contrast with an expensive and time consuming big gimbal to the BM than using an ND in front of the lens.... plus the form factor of those cameras is really uncomfortable ...in my hands at least.... tools dude just tools :)
@@sardanapalos actually BMD have gyro data post stabilization, which is really handy and useful, if you know how to work with it (speed up shutter angle + add post motion blur), but I do really like the weight and AF of the S5II (which I purchased at the beginning of this year).
To me Lumix system have one strange things: S1 series use the different battery than S5 series, but I do hope BMD find out a way to do autofocus, the form factor to me is fine though.
@@chennyye28 i know about the gyro... and i have used it on the 6k but i am not in the path for all that hustle at the moment...i sold my s1 for this reason... the batteries ...really frustrating to use different ones...i think BMD will use the lidear focus in the future since its more of a cine set camera.... i wish they make a box camera in L-mount then we are talking, hehe
@@sardanapalos eventually there will be a box camera from BMD, no matter the BMMCC style or something else, until BMD find a way to cut the cost down.
I do not recommend buying it as it has many problems
