When Cregan Stark said death was beyond the wall, they play the white walker sounds.
the writers: "glad you loved last season's finale so much. just wait til you see what we're putting in your head this year."
i too was fooled on first viewing. the "rat-catchers" didn't err. the writers pulled a bit of dramatic sleight-of-hand on us. the assassins asked daemon "what if we can't find [aemond]?" but the scene ends before daemon's answer. later, in the kids' bedroom, one assassin says "a son for a son, he said." (also the title of the episode.) so prince jaehaerys was actually daemon's "plan b". the writers withheld daemon's response because they didn't want to spoil the surprise at the end.

Pray that this show doesn't jump the shark like GOT did. Yikes! That Season 8 was one for the books.

I watch House of the Dragon but I refuse to become invested in it like I did with GOT because while it has completely different show runners I don't trust them not to burn me the way they did with how that series ended and how afterwards I felt like I wasted 8 years on a show not even the runner's cared about. I will judge this show after it ends. But at least they have a full book to go by and not an unfinished series of books which is why GOT ended so badly.
