the path that Helaena takes to get to Alicent's room is the same way that Rhaenyra took to get to Alicent's room right after she had her baby but in reverse (Helaena starts in the Queen's room, Alicent is in Rhaenyra's old room)
Fun Fact: Rhaenyra saying " I want Aemond Targaryen" is the only line that she has in this episode. Emma is giving it their all as the role of a grieving mother.
nah, he replaced them. So its not like the castle lacked staff because of him. It was likely Criston doing a bad job at security plus most of the guards are protecting the drunk king.
@@HK-gm8pe they left it out because it would have been a spoiler and take away the shock value. If he said "if you cant get aemond, take jaeharys:" we all know they wouldnt even try Aemond. Instead we are all saying "no way they can kill Aemond" and thinking about Aemond killing the two of them.
this was a good episode. 1. we see Nyra and her dragon grieve as they both lost a child. 2. Haelaena predicts what happens, she actually whispers under her breathe " They just want the boy." as she sows his funeral item. The rats was the obvious call out. 3. Cole ends up being the boy toy for alicent after he talks all that shi about Nyra in season 1 for doing what she did lol 4. Aegon isn't fit to rule since Viserys never meant for him to rule, so Aegon desperately wanted to teach Jaeharys how to rule. 5. Daemon told B&C a son for a son, if Aemond isn't there then any son of my Kin will do.
"We'd never have wars if women were in charge" Watching HOTD: "yeaaaa so about that" 🤣and rofl at Alicent's hypocrisy. She's sitting there having a hissy over rhaenyra having a fling with a knight and here she is getting her carpet munched and riding him like a bull.

In the books Blood and Cheese scene it’s actually much more brutal. The story in the books: Helaena had 2 twin children, Jaehaerys and Jaehaera, and a younger son, Maelor, who was 2-3 years old. Blood and Cheese grabbed the two sons said that she had to choose one of them to die, even though Helaena pleaded them to kill her instead. In the end, she called Maelor, who was the youngest. Cheese whispered to his ear: Your mama wants you dead. And immediately Blood kills the eldest, Jaehaerys. She screamed in horror and despair.
They brought the dog with them because there are dogs that are bred to catch rats (e.g., Rat Terriers), so it's for keeping up appearances as rat catchers.
He doesn’t care about them so much as he knows that he needs them on his side. He’s being shrewd, much like Margaery. And if he cared so much about the common people, he wouldn’t rape the common women.
He's a rapist, enjoys kiddy fight club, and wants to be seen as a good king to the smallfolk. Don't fall for it. The one tiny redeeming thing that I believe is that he cares about his son. Probably wants to be the dad that Vicerys failed to be with him. I do like that they're trying to grey him up a bit more this season, but I'll never be Team Green because of him.
Jacerys, Lucerys & Joffrey are called Velaryon because at the time they were born, Rhaenyra was married to Laenor Velaryon and they had an agreement that their kids would be called Velaryon until they acend the throne. Then it would be changed to Targaeryen.
💚💚Team Green supporter here💚💚 First of all, I have to say, Phia [Helaena] did a great job. Her emotions, the way her character "works" was outstanding. Would I have liked them to have kept a few things from the book? Yes! But only because of Helaena, that she doesn't offer her necklace but her life, etc. But the way it went down fits her character in the show. She had to give up one or she would have lost both. But I have to say, those muffled screams and the noises of them sawing...this will haunt me for a long time..I really couldn't breathe, because I was also in shock. I am very empathetic and could relate to Helaena's panic attack and yes folks, a panic attack can look exactly like you saw. In any case, I'm looking forward to the next episodes and to Aegon's revenge! My king!
They have confirmed that they are adapting the "a Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" books. This is a series of novellas that is set around 100 years after House of the Dragon, but also focuses on the Targaryen family.
As a King's Guard, Cole is horrible at "protection." He failed in his protection of Helaena and her children all the while failing to use "protection" with her mom at the same time.
I don't know why I didn't connect the little boy at the table is the little boy at the end 😮 I've watched this a few times now and just realized it lol
You can hear him scream and grief during the first seconds in the “Weeks to come” trailer, it gave me chills. I can't wait to see Tgc acting it out next week🤯
Jacaerys, Lucerys and Joffrey are born under the Velaryon name, the deal Viserys and Corlys struck would only affect Rhaenyra's successor so right now Jace. He is still using Velaryon until he ascends; if Luke had lived, he would continue using Velaryon even after ascending to be Lord of the Tides. Same for Joffrey. Emma D'Arcy has a way of making you feel their pain when they cry, like its almost visceral. Someone pointed out the way Rhaenyra hugs Jace it almost seems/feels like she wants to take and hide him in the place she last felt sure that she could protect him from any and all harm: her womb...and that knocked the wind out of me The toy little Joff burns to say goodbye to his big brother is the one Luke was playing with in 1x07 when he tells his grandfather he doesn't want to be Lord of the Tides cause that would mean everyone he loves is dead, the wooden horse Rhaenys gave her grandson little Lucerys at Laena's funeral
For me, Season 2 Episode 1 was a nice introduction to showing Aegon transitioning into his King role. We see Aegon talking to the smallfolk in a very (unexpected) sincere manner, but then see his grandsire Otto take over to advise the King, which shows the viewers very nicely that Aegon is still learning the ropes and there is much yet to still to learn as King. It also shows his age that he is a very new and young King. Rhaenyra would have handled it much better because she actually got the active learning from her father King Viserys. But, Aegon was not afforded the same treatment as we know. Viserys - I think BOTH sides at least agree on this one thing - was the most one-sided, biased and useless father. 😅 But then, later we see Aegon drunk and joking around on the Iron Throne, and Blood and Cheese manage to get past him because he is far too drunk to even notice. But, I thought that was a nice touch in the show, because we see that despite him being the King now, he maybe hasn't left his full vices behind and is still acting goofy which a war is looming and he really needs to get his act together. But, then you see other snippets like Aegon taking his son into a Council meeting and actually bonding with him and smiling so warmly at him from the other side of the table (no like, REALLY smiling at him where the smile reaches his eyes and for Aegon that is unknown). You see Aegon caring for his own son the way King Viserys did not try with him, and we see that despite the 99 bad things Aegon has done, the 1 good thing is that perhaps he is a more serious father than King Viserys was to him, Aemond and Haelena. We see that despite Aegon's flaws, he is at least trying to get this one thing right of being a better more fair father. But, I think the drunken scene with Blood and Cheese from episode 1, is this defining moment onwards which is going to change him indefinitely. I mean, going by the new trailer for episode 2, Aegon screams in madness, "I will kill them all. I declare a war." My theory is that this is the kick up the ass he needed and where we shall see that he finally learns that it is now time to put the past behind him and the fun has got to stop. Maybe, it is the death of his child which is the kick up the ass he needed to get him more serious as the role of a King. Which if you have read the books, he survives it. But, of course, TV series can differ vastly from the books... so let's see the creative direction the showrunners, producers, directors, writers decide to roll with. I think Aegon's character development is going to be the most interesting to witness. A bit like Sansa in GOT where we see her as a childish brat and then she just surprises everyone. I am sooooo excited for Season 2 😭😭😭🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 As for Haelena, it wasn't emotionless at all. Haelena is definitely having a panic attack. Some people do that. Not everyone has a fight in them, some people have a flight response. I should know. I have also behaved like that where I could not breathe, and it is a rapid, intense, and violent feeling, and the breathing is still going but you also feel stumped in fear 😢💔 Not every character has to be into fighting and hot-tempered like Aemond, Daemon and Aegon and that's what makes a show better where you have different personalities. But the last sex scene between Alicent and Ser Criston Cole was annoyingly unnecessary. They should have just let the scene fade to black just like the Red Wedding. It should have faded to black with only the sick sounds of bones breaking. That would have made such a long-lasting impact. The unnecessary sex scene between Alicent and Ser Criston took away the pace and momentum, and broke the feeling that something sadistic just happened imo. I almost forgot about it because of the stupid sex scene.
I feel Larys Strong knows everything in the Castle by talking to the rats or some because after last season aswell they were showing rats every important scenes and now they’re even more and we never saw he talked to someone or has someone to spy others and he does look like rat 😂
I think half of the guards were getting drunk with Aegon and Cole was doing his thing with Allicent. Wonder if they will get blamed. The greens are about to get much more serious I think
Cheese did ask Daemon, "What if we can find him?" And Daemon just smirked. Trust the book version 100x worse. Lol. The kids are awake while Heleena choses. Also, youre in a very small minority thinking GOT season 8 ended well. Lol. So excited for this season!!
A lot of people who read the Book Fire and Blood don't like what they did with Cheese and Blood because they changed things. I'm going to give my opinion on the whole episode, so I liked the episode but I expected more from the episode, about the blood and cheese I thought it was cool but it could be much better. I'm going to talk now about what really happened in the Book Fire and Blood. Blood and Cheese is one of the darkest moments of the civil war between the Targaryens, known as the Dance of the Dragons. After receiving information about Luke's death at the hands of Aemond, the Black Council met at Dragonstone and received a raven from Prince Daemon, who at that time was in Harrenhal. "An eye for an eye, a son for a son," wrote Prince Daemon."Lucerys will be avenged." Thus begins one of the bloodiest chapters of Dance. "Let it not be forgotten: in his youth, Daemon Targaryen was the Prince of the City, his face and his laughs were familiar to all the pickpockets, whores and gamblers of Flea Bottom. The prince still had friends in the lowest reaches of King's Landing and followers among the gold cloaks. Unbeknownst to King Aegon, the Hand, or the Dowager Queen, he also had allies at court, even on the green council... And another intermediary, a special friend whom he trusted completely, who knew the taverns and rat pits that festered in the shadows of the Red Keep, as Daemon himself had known, and moved with ease in the shadows of the city. He sought out this pale stranger then, by secret means, to enact terrible revenge." Her intermediary, as it turns out later, was (Mysaria) and she is the one who recruits Blood and Cheese, in King's Landing. Blood is described as brutish and deadly, and he had been a sergeant among the Gold Cloaks (City Guard), but was permanently dismissed for beating a prostitute to death during a drunken binge. Cheese, in turn, was the rat exterminator of the Red Keep and therefore knew all the entrances and exits of the Castle and he is the one who takes Blood to the interior of the castle, without them being seen by anyone. “Cheese knew the Red Fortress better than the shape of his own dick,” says Cogumelo. The hidden doors and secret tunnels Maegor the Cruel had constructed were as familiar to the exterminator as they were to the rats he hunted. Using a forgotten passage, Cheese took Blood to the heart of the castle, without being seen by any guards. Some say that the prey was the king himself, but Aegon was accompanied by the Kingsguard wherever he went, and not even Cheese knew of an entrance or exit from Maegor's Fortress other than the drawbridge that passed over the dry moat and its formidable iron spikes. The Tower of the Hand was less dry. The two men climbed the walls, avoiding the spearmen stationed at the tower doors. Ser Otto's quarters were of no interest to them. They went directly to his daughter's quarters, one floor below. Queen Alicent had come to live there after the death of King Viserys, when her son Aegon moved to Maegor's Keep with his queen. After they entered, Cheese tied and gagged the widowed queen while Blood strangled her chambermaid. Then they sat down to wait, as they knew that it was Queen Helaena's custom to take her children to see their grandmother every night before they went to sleep. Oblivious to the danger, the queen appeared as dusk spread across the castle, accompanied by her three children. Jaehaerys and Jaehaera were six years old and Maelor was two. When they entered the chambers, Helaena was holding his little hand and calling her mother's name. Blood blocked the door and killed the queen's guards while Cheese appeared to get Maelor. -If they scream, everyone will die - Sangue warned His Grace. Queen Helaena kept her cool, they say. -Who are you? -he asked the two. -Debt collectors -said Cheese. -An eye for an eye, a son for a son. We just want one to settle the score. We will not harm rest of you, not by a hair's breadth. What does Your Grace want? lose? When she understood what he meant, Queen Helaena pleaded for men to kill her in the place of one of her children. -A wife is not a son, said Blood. -It has to be one boy. Cheese warned the queen to choose quickly, before Blood was left I'm tired of the little girl. -Choose - he said -, otherwise we will kill everyone. On her knees, crying, Helaena chose the youngest, Maelor. Perhaps she had thought the boy was too young to understand,or perhaps it was because the oldest boy, Jaehaerys, was the firstborn and heir of King Aegon, next in line of succession to the Iron Throne. -Are you listening, little boy? -Cheese whispered to Maelor. -Your mom wants you dead. He gave Blood a smile, and the hulking swordsman killed Prince Jaehaerys, taking the boy's head off with a single blow. The queen began to scream. Strangely enough, the rat exterminator and the butcher were true to their word. They did no harm to Queen Helaena or her surviving children, but they fled with the prince's head in their hands. A scream sounded, but Queijo knew the secret passages that the guards did not, and the killers fled. Two days later, Blood was captured at the Gate of the Gods trying to leave King's Landing with Prince Jaehaerys' head in one of his saddlebags. Under torture, he confessed that he was taking the head to Harrenhal, to collect his reward from Prince Daemon. He too gave a description of the prostitute he claimed had hired them: an older woman, foreign in her accent, with a cape and hood, very pale. The other prostitutes called her Myseria. After thirteen days of torment, Blood was finally able to die. Queen Alicent ordered Larys Clubfoot to learn his name so he could bathe in the blood of his wife and children, but our sources do not say whether this happened. Ser Luthor Largent and his golden cloaks searched the Street of Silk from top to bottom and investigated and stripped every prostitute in King's Landing, but found no sign of either Cheese or White Worm. In his grief and fury, King Aegon Il ordered all of the city's rat exterminators to be captured and hanged, and this was done. (Ser Otto Hightower took a hundred cats to the Red Keep to take their place.) Although Blood and Cheese spared her life, Queen Helaena didn't exactly survive the fateful twilight. Afterwards, she did not want to eat, bathe or leave her chambers, and could not bear to look at her son Maelor, knowing that she had chosen him to die. The king had no recourse other than to take the boy from her and give him to the their mother, the Dowager Queen Alicent, to be raised as her own. Aegon and his wife began to sleep separately, and Queen Helaena sank deeper and deeper into madness, while the king raged, drank and raged." So I hate all the green people because they are all bad, the only person in the family who is good is Helaena, the rest are all rotten, poor people, he lost his son so she goes after his mother to ask for help and she ends up taking the mother having sex with her lover, what a horrible thing, I feel very sorry for Helena, she does suffer in this green family, but Aegon, Aemond, Alicent do not suffer, they are suffering, they are suffering and because the series wants to portray them as poor things, Helaena does not have love from no one in her family, they all mistreat her, Because Helena doesn't like Alicent or her brothers, you can tell by just watching all her scenes with her family, she never lets Alicent touch her.
You two are always a breath of fresh air because you actually notice the simple little things. Like Alicent looking to Cole for help during the council meeting.
I can't remember exactly the words, but when Viserys and Corlys are making the deal to marry Rhaenyra and Laenor, Corlys asks if the succesor of Rhaenyra (in this case Jacaerys) would have the Velaryon last name but Viserys says that the second the succesor of Rhaenyra takes the throne, their last name would change to Targaryen to keep the name on the throne, that's why all of Rhaenyra and Laenor's "kids" are Velaryons
HE SAID Aemond hate the reason the director gave for why they cut away without hearing him respond to what if we cant find him... they took it upon themselves to kill jaheris bc they didnt know where to find ol one eye. still a son for a son just not WHO Daemon said
5:43 I thought it was bad that Jace came home straight away, I wanted to see more scenes of Jace in the north. The books have several moments of Jace in the north, but apparently the writers chose not to include them, it's a real shame. 6:29 Rhaenys' Scene with Daemon Eva best who plays the character Rhaenys I talk about her scene with Daemon. "When we did that in the reading and it seemed like a kind of trump card, like whoever has more power" (...) so, what he throws at her in that scene entirely reflects him and his own vulnerability and a desperate need to blame someone" "Understanding that thing about being an outsider. Those who have been mistreated, those who haven't gotten the position they were raised in or deserve, I feel like there's a deep understanding that Rhaenyra resonates with a lot." As Rhaenyra was absent for days, it was probably the daemon who received Alicent's letters. I imagine he burned all of Alicent's letters. (I would do the same thing) I'm sure he did this the first moment he read it "Friend, how are you? How are you?🥰 I'm sorry for your son😰🤧 You know how it is, accidents happen🤷♀️ but move forward and lift your head so the crown (a princess's, not a Queen's) doesn't fall off, right lol I miss you already." (bro when Alicent speaks The fact that I sent the letters made me angry because, bro, it's only the scriptwriters who can do this shit, I hope Daemon burned all the fake letters. 15:02 I wanted to talk about Rhaenyra in the book in relation to how Lucerys' death happened. How sad Vhagar must have been, the dragon who ended her boy's life. Riding Visenya,a woman she clearly admired and then her beloved Laena. Rhaenyra clearly admired the conqueror. She wore her hair normally tied in a long braid, like her ancestor and even named her daughter after her, who unfortunately did not survive. Besides, in the book the relationship between Laena and Rhaenyra was different. They flew together, visited each other and she was with Laena in her final moments. They promised their children: Jace to Baela and Luke to Rhaena, when the boys were four and three and the girls two. How sad it must have been to think that the dragon that once belonged to a woman she so admired and was inspired by and then to such a dear friend was the very one who killed her son. 19:39 Daemon was Anxious throughout the episode, lashing out at everyone he talked to because he was worried about Rhaenyra. He probably hadn't slept for days, not knowing if she was safe. Then she came back and he did his best to comfort her. (The funny thing is that Dameon was mad at everyone and blamed everyone, but when Rhaenyra arrived he was calm with her presence) They [Daemon and Rhaenyra] have a connection that no one else on the show shares, they are almost the same person, in different bodies. Sarah Hess. Matt Smith: “[Blood&Cheese] It's love, grief and vengeance. Daemon feels it's impossible not to exact that feeling of revenge when it's in him... [Jaehaerys' death] isn't his mistake ultimately, but he does put it in motion.” 20:51 Jace's scene with Rhaenyra was very beautiful. Jace placing the crown in front of the mourning is Rhaenyra putting the pain aside to comfort. He trying to hold back to say what he managed and clinging to her afterwards. This scene is important to show that Rhaenyra raised her children in a very loving way. On the other hand, we have a mother (Alicent) who is extremely negligent and neglectful and on the other, Nyra is simply being loving towards all of her children. Seriously, they put the scene of Alicent lighting the candle for Lucerys, seriously, scriptwriters, this woman doesn't care about Rhaenyra's children, she calls hers bastards and tried to take a child's eye out and then put this ridiculous scene of hers, She called the jace and luke from savages... said he would rather die than let Helaena marry jace... spent 10 years questioning the legitimacy of the Children and putting a target on their and Rhaenyra's foreheads... but yes he does everything I felt the parallel of the wake with Alicent's fake, They are forcing too much, Alicent clearly never liked Rhaenyra's children but is called empathetic for lighting a candle at Lucerys' death... however, Rhaenyra who never had anything against Is Helaena called fake for showing empathy towards another innocent mother? Sometimes it's difficult to understand people, but she's the victim, folks.. she started the war by accident.. she sent Larys to kill Mysaria's informants by accident.. she spent 10 years preparing Aegon to be king by accident. .she questioned the legitimacy of luke/ep8 without meaning to.. she is just the victim of the patriarchy, incredible how everything they do the producers want to make accidental. "Ah, they didn't want to usurp the throne", "Aemond didn't want to kill the boy", damn what a bummer. 22:10 They didn't have Lucerys' body for the funeral so to represent him throughout his life, Jace wore his newborn clothes, Joffrey his toy as a child, Rhaenyra her clothes as an adult.
alicent lighting a candle for lucerys speaks a lot about her great character but even more so was acknowledging him as a velaryon which is some huge growth from the first couple episodes after the major time skip in season 1 when all she cared about was that they were bastards
When it comes to the guards theres only 3 kngsguard in kings landing. 3 are with rhaenyra and herald westerling quit last season. And most of the soldiers are on the wall watching or dragons. And im sure the red keep has guards on the outside
Hi guys, i expected you to touch on the revelations heleana talked about, her fear of rats. Sad her child got killed by the ratcatcher. She also looked at the cradle after she said it to aegon. Blood and cheese asked deamon what's to be done if aemond was not found, the camera cuts only to reveal later that he instructed them to kill a son with the decapitation of a head as proof. These were voiced when they enter aemond's room and when they captured Helena. First time viewer. Love your reactions. ❤
I read the book so I knew the son was going to die, but I’m pretty sure Halaena wasn’t there to see it happen, so when she showed up in the scene my heart absolutely broke, it was devastating
Happy Tuesday Meesh and Dee. It good to see Winterfell again. So far, we see a conflict within both sides after the Aftermath of season 10 with Lucery death. Jace trying to get support from the North. The Black's as Rhaenyra is grieving. Daemon want to go to war with them. As he and Rhaenya disagree on how their approach against Team Green. On the Green's we see how Aegon is as the king. As their is a conflict between him and his grandfather Otto on how to run things. As Larys Strong notice as he sowed seeds into Aegon. As Helena warns Aegon, concern should be the rats (spies) and not the black's. I'm surprised that Aegon show love for his son despite not disciplining them. But I guess Aegon showing love to his son is something he never got from his, father. First Sir Cirston hated being Rhaenyra sex toy, but now he's Alicent damn I didn't see that one coming. Alicent and Cirston Cole really can't say anything about Rhaenyra at this moment. I wouldn't be surprised if Larys Strong know of Alicent and Cirston Cole messing around. I'm pretty sure Otto knows with the way he looked as Alicent and Cirston Cole enter the room. Alicent feeling not appreciated as she part of the table of men. As she feel Aemond and Aegon don't listen to her. Especially after she expressed disappointment in Aemond for causing this war. I love the Velaryon theme song. I feel bad for Rhaenyra after seeing the remains of Lucery dragon Arrax which was confirm by the Black Ravens. In which resulted in her wanting Aemond dead. As Daemon leaves to go to Kings landing where he finds two men Cheese and Blood who he knew through talks with the White Worm. As he paid him to assassinate Aemond. I just feel bad that Cheese and Blood decided to kill Jaehaery. But anyway I hope you two have a wonderful day. Stay safe, take care and stay amazing.
Hey Rob!! Glad to see you’re a huge HOTD/GoT fan too 🤩🙏🏼 we appreciate all of this insight and are so excited to dive into the rest of the season together :)
@MeeshDeeReacts Yeah I got into Game of Thrones in 2020 during Covid. But yeah I like House of Dragon. These following episodes are gonna be interesting. But anyway I hope the rest of you two day is enjoyable.
I dont think Aegon is a horrible person. He seems like a good father. I think some of his motivations as king are just his need to satisfy and for acceptance that he didn't get from his father. Most of his motovations seem to be trying to right gis fathers wrongs
all reactors i have watched so far hate alicent and i am so glad you’re the ones that break that “general audience” opinion 😭😭 she’s my favorite character and i love seeing other people like and understand her too
@@MeeshDeeReacts she’s extremely complex and i don’t think people realize how truly hard it was for women under the patriarchy in medieval times, the only people that brought her true joy were her mother and rhaenyra and suddenly she has neither :( she is a victim of her environment more than anything and she IS aware but she acts with what she is given
Wondet if he will face any sort of punishment for failing in his duties. Oh let's be honest, of course he won't. He was given the position of commander of the kings guard, a position he doesn't deserve.
15:12, two mothers mourning their children, that's so sad. #Parallel of the episode from the books, in case your want to read them, don't read what's next. And an off-topic, the murder of Jaehaerys was less darker than the one in the books, where Helaena was threatened that her 6yo daughter, Jaehaera, will get raped by Blood if she doesn't pick which son to lose(She had a 3yo as well in the books), and ultimately she picks the 3yo (thinking that he wouldn't pick up what's going on and he will die fast) but Cheese, being a sick fcker, just went to his ear, whispered: "Your mom wants your dead", and then killing Jaehaerys, by slicing his head off(as they did in the show) in front of his mother, grandmother and siblings. L.E. And I know that the queen tried to trick them into taking the daughter, to keep the heir alive, but she was outsmarted by Cheese. So yeah, which one is your fav war criminal, gals?
The Jon snow got canceled because Emilia Clark didn’t want to come back so they might have wanted to try bringing her back (rest of the cast didn’t want to come back either)
I’ve never heard someone say season 8 ended well for GoT 😂 man when the season came out, I heard so much anger about that season. But I’m excited for y’all’s reaction! Edit: as a book reader I’m really excited for your reactions lol for the end of this show
Lol! Sorry I should've clarified that although S8 of GoT was rushed.... I still liked the first episodes leading into the death of the Night King lol but that's just my opinion!! Thanks so much for watching along with us! 🥰 -D
Its worse in books. They make her choose between her 2 sons she pick the oldest to live and then cheese says you hear that little man your mama wants you to die to the younger kid, then they kill the older one and leave the young one alive.
@iustinmatei5655 decapitation of a child isn't really funny to me, but I am not surprised this is a shameless fandom that romatises incest and jokes about child murder 🤷♂️
@iustinmatei5655 a child being beheaded isn't really my type of humour tbh, but I am not surprised this shameless fandom romatises incestuous relationships and mocks the decapitations off toddler's🤷♂️
@@iustinmatei5655 a child being beheaded isn't really my type of humour tbh, but I am not surprised this shameless fandom romatises incestuous relationships and mocks the decapitations off toddler's
it's understandable why Alicent is doing Criston, look at how her life has been since she was a teen, forced to marry a much older man, forced to make heirs while doing her duty, making sacrifices... but now becuase she's slowly losing her power over Aegon, she's latching on to Cole for control but at the same time fulfilling her needs and certain desires that she never fulfilled unlike Rhaenrya but again it makes her feel shameful, and sinful... yes she is being hypocritical but she's definitely not without her own complexities. I actually prefer Show Alicent to book Alicent just because of the route they are going with the character and the fact that Olivia Cooke's performance is so good to watch.
Subbing because, even though there was a caveat, you liked season 8. Or at least didn't totally shit on it. I thought it was perfectly fine and a good ending. Anyway, good reaction to House of the Dragon.
Guards are absent because Crispy (and maybe even Alicent) sent them away so they could secretly bump uglies. I think what Helaena was sewing when Aegon was asking about his sons whereabouts (and Helaena says she's afraid of the rats) is funeral attire....possibly the veil she wears at the funeral :(
This was watered down bigtime... in the book the kids are awake and after Helaena chooses Cheese says to the child "Hear that? Your momma wants you dead" and Blood decapitates the one she DIDN'T pick.
I don’t like criston cole but I always find it funny how women watch this show and call him a simp but he is literally a sex slave at this point😂he isn’t allowed to say no to them exactly why he wanted to kill himself after Rhanerya did the same thing and you can clearly see he doesn’t like it but at the same time he is way to bitter either accept it or finish the job🙃sorry for being insensitive but frl😂
I wouldn't say it's accurate to call him either a simp or a sex slave TBH lol. The reason he flew off the handle with Rhaenyra didn't have anything do with being forced, it was a matter of his guilt regarding his honour. And I don't get any sense that he dislikes Alicent in that regard, e.g. when he defends while talking to Aemond. Although I did sympathise with his original position with Rhaenyra, at this point he's just a very bitter and capricious man.
I'm not that big of a fan as to how armies treat dragons. Dragons are literally the equivalent of the enemy having fighter jets. Why on earth are the castle's and armies made without that in mind. If the Romans could equip every legion with 60 Scorpio's when fighting unarmored barbarians, a more modern medieval army should be able to build hundreds. Rhaegal was taken down by one with ease, Meraxes, a dragon bigger than Vhagar was killed by one. You've got to adapt a bit more. If a modern army would attack with an army that was 80% jets, your funds should all go to your AA defenses right? If your oponent pulls up with exclusively tanks, don't send in infantry. Medieval people were just as smart as a lot of us. They might not have had our technology, but they sure as hell could adapt. I understand that a comical amount of Scorpio's isn't that entertaining to watch, and sometimes Dragons also get plot armor (Drogon), but just once, I want to see some big dragon do a big attack and then just get hit by 40 bolts at the same time.
Yeah, it's just a classic world-building oversight. I don't hold it against George too much though, because next to no-one takes these kinds of things into account - people just want a classic medieval setting with magic and mythology thrown in, but don't realise that the reality of those elements would fundamentally alter the settings from the ground up lol
@@armata_strigoi_0 that's true. I'd say it's less of a critique on Martin and more a general critique on how fantasy is written. I love George's work, but Game Of Thrones is hard worldbuilding and therefore you can critique things like that. Martin's worldbuilding is super unique. The man is a genius and in my opinion the best fantasy worldbuilder after Tolkien.
Hii there! Omg you’d love the GoT universe!! 100% would recommend starting it if you have the chance 😊❤️ we appreciate all your love and support for real 🙏🏼
You can certainly start with HotD if you want, definitely go back and watch the first season though - it's fantastic and you'll be missing out both personally and in terms of context if you don't.
Lol the Queen is not crazy at all. She's clairvoyant. She saw it happening, hence the "I'm afraid of the rats". But that goes for the rat snatchers and the rats/people. They watered it down lol Daemon purposefully sends Blood and Cheese to Helaena’s quarters, and after being asked to pick which child to kill, they threaten to assault her daughter. Whilst crying, she points to her youngest son Maelor, and Blood cuts his head off with one swing of a sword in front of her. Also Cole should've been Guarding the Queen and her children,instead....
I was disappointed in this episode. They baby washed b&c, the reactions were lacking. Shock value and impact were nowhere to be found. They started the episode from the north and at first i thought I was watching a different show... They should have started from the moment Daemon told Rhaenyra the news about Luke, because now everything got lost inbetween the seasons.
Rhaenyra paid for not apologizing for Aemond's eye and gaslightling her father against him in Ep 7. And here when she says "I want Aemond Targareyn", its funny because girl you caused this!!!
you mean Aemond a spiteful, bitter and coward young men who was threatening and terrifying a kid and Arrax (a very young dragon) hysterically with an ancient predator. Aemond is responsible for Lucerys murder, and is a kinslayer. Aemond has part of the guilt for losing his eye too and Rhaenyra didn't gaslight her father, although Alicent and her father did a lot of that.

the path that Helaena takes to get to Alicent's room is the same way that Rhaenyra took to get to Alicent's room right after she had her baby but in reverse (Helaena starts in the Queen's room, Alicent is in Rhaenyra's old room)

I read a comment that, remember the clubfoot guy also purged the castle of staff and guards not 100% loyal, so that bit them in the butt in the end
Ahh that’s true! Interesting point here
nah, he replaced them. So its not like the castle lacked staff because of him. It was likely Criston doing a bad job at security plus most of the guards are protecting the drunk king.
They asked daemon what to do when they couldn't find Aemond, later you hear the gold cloak say "a son for a son" so basically that was plan B
yes but maybe they left something out....they didnt show us exactly what Daemon says I think cause they want us to question this
@@HK-gm8pe true but also there's no reason the guard knew that saying without daemon uttering it
@@HK-gm8pe they left it out because it would have been a spoiler and take away the shock value.

3. Cole ends up being the boy toy for alicent after he talks all that shi about Nyra in season 1 for doing what she did lol
4. Aegon isn't fit to rule since Viserys never meant for him to rule, so Aegon desperately wanted to teach Jaeharys how to rule.
5. Daemon told B&C a son for a son, if Aemond isn't there then any son of my Kin will do.
"We'd never have wars if women were in charge"

In the books Blood and Cheese scene it’s actually much more brutal.
The story in the books:
Helaena had 2 twin children, Jaehaerys and Jaehaera, and a younger son, Maelor, who was 2-3 years old.
So horrible! 😓
They brought the dog with them because there are dogs that are bred to catch rats (e.g., Rat Terriers), so it's for keeping up appearances as rat catchers.
I like that Aegon actually was interested in helping the smallfolk and petitioners. He actually cares about the common people.
Doing the right thing comes naturally to him. It takes an outside force to tilt him to being evil...
@@nomisand there are enough people around him that do that
He doesn’t care about them so much as he knows that he needs them on his side.
Why does Blood have the most insane voice I think I have ever heard come from a human being?
Right?! 🫣🫣
LITERALLY it probably vibrates people he's in a room with
Jacerys, Lucerys & Joffrey are called Velaryon because at the time they were born, Rhaenyra was married to Laenor Velaryon and they had an agreement that their kids would be called Velaryon until they acend the throne. Then it would be changed to Targaeryen.
Jace is the only one of Laenors kids (harwins) that got the Targaryen surname due to the agreement with viserys and corlys and rhaenys last season

First of all, I have to say, Phia [Helaena] did a great job.
🤯🤯
The Stark music in the beginning got me right in the feels!
As a King's Guard, Cole is horrible at "protection." He failed in his protection of Helaena and her children all the while failing to use "protection" with her mom at the same time.
LOL on point here 😅
For all his failure at protection he is quite adept at banging royalty while on the clock.
Cole is just a piece of shit in general. Just one more of his failings, this time resulted in the child's death all because he was horny.
How you know he is supposed to be guarding Helena...
Aegon is gonna breakdown losing his son. I can't wait to see a new side of him come out.
Gonna be so crazy!!

Someone pointed out the way Rhaenyra hugs Jace it almost seems/feels like she wants to take and hide him in the place she last felt sure that she could protect him from any and all harm: her womb...and that knocked the wind out of me
The toy little Joff burns to say goodbye to his big brother is the one Luke was playing with in 1x07 when he tells his grandfather he doesn't want to be Lord of the Tides cause that would mean everyone he loves is dead, the wooden horse Rhaenys gave her grandson little Lucerys at Laena's funeral
Notice how when Helaena said “the rats” she looked directly at her sons crib
Alicent lighting the candles was such a cool callback to when alicent and rhynaera did it for her mum and little brother❤😢
Damon told them " a son for a son". Jeaherys was the backup plan in case they couldn't find aemond.
Was looking forward to your reactions! Thank you for blessing us ❤

But then, later we see Aegon drunk and joking around on the Iron Throne, and Blood and Cheese manage to get past him because he is far too drunk to even notice.
I am sooooo excited for Season 2 😭😭😭🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
As for Haelena, it wasn't emotionless at all.
Both mothers were mourning in that scene Rhaenyra dragon is also the mother of her sons dragon 😢
😭😭😭
I feel Larys Strong knows everything in the Castle by talking to the rats or some because after last season aswell they were showing rats every important scenes and now they’re even more and we never saw he talked to someone or has someone to spy others and he does look like rat 😂
I think half of the guards were getting drunk with Aegon and Cole was doing his thing with Allicent. Wonder if they will get blamed. The greens are about to get much more serious I think
"where are all the guards?'
There was only one and he was getting bizzayy
The music theme at the very start is the Stark theme, Goodbye Brother.
LITERALLY GIVES US CHILLS EVERY TIME WE HEAR IT 😭

LOL I'm going to have to clarify what I said about S8 of GoT in our next episode!! lol thanks for watching with us :)

"An eye for an eye, a son for a son," wrote Prince Daemon."Lucerys will be avenged."
Thus begins one of the bloodiest chapters of Dance.
He sought out this pale stranger then, by secret means, to enact terrible revenge."
Her intermediary, as it turns out later, was (Mysaria) and she is the one who recruits Blood and Cheese, in King's Landing.
We will not harm
rest of you, not by a hair's breadth. What does Your Grace want?
lose?
When she understood what he meant, Queen Helaena pleaded
for men to kill her in the place of one of her children.
-A wife is not a son, said Blood. -It has to be one
boy.
Cheese warned the queen to choose quickly, before Blood was left
I'm tired of the little girl.
He too
gave a description of the prostitute he claimed had hired them: an older woman, foreign in her accent, with a cape and hood, very pale.
(Ser Otto Hightower took a hundred cats to the Red Keep to take their place.)
Although Blood and Cheese spared her life, Queen Helaena didn't exactly survive the fateful twilight. Aegon and his wife began to sleep separately, and Queen Helaena sank deeper and deeper into madness, while the king raged, drank and raged."
So I hate all the green people because they are all bad, the only person in the family who is good is Helaena, the rest are all rotten, poor people, he lost his son so she goes after his mother to ask for help and she ends up taking the mother having sex with her lover, what a horrible thing, I feel very sorry for Helena, she does suffer in this green family, but Aegon, Aemond, Alicent do not suffer, they are suffering, they are suffering and because the series wants to portray them as poor things, Helaena does not have love from no one in her family, they all mistreat her, Because Helena doesn't like Alicent or her brothers, you can tell by just watching all her scenes with her family, she never lets Alicent touch her.
You two are always a breath of fresh air because you actually notice the simple little things. Like Alicent looking to Cole for help during the council meeting.
Thank you!! ❤️ lol he suuuuper simping over Alicent! 😂
While Aegon is doing petitions you can actually see Cheese in the hallway with his dog.
6:29 Rhaenys' Scene with Daemon
Eva best who plays the character Rhaenys I talk about her scene with Daemon. "When we did that in the reading and it seemed like a kind of trump card, like whoever has more power" (...) so, what he throws at her in that scene entirely reflects him and his own vulnerability and a desperate need to blame someone"
"Understanding that thing about being an outsider. Those who have been mistreated, those who haven't gotten the position they were raised in or deserve, I feel like there's a deep understanding that Rhaenyra resonates with a lot."
As Rhaenyra was absent for days, it was probably the daemon who received Alicent's letters. I imagine he burned all of Alicent's letters. (I would do the same thing)
I'm sure he did this the first moment he read it
"Friend, how are you? How are you?🥰
I'm sorry for your son😰🤧 You know how it is, accidents happen🤷♀️ but move forward and lift your head so the crown (a princess's, not a Queen's) doesn't fall off, right lol I miss you already." (bro when Alicent speaks The fact that I sent the letters made me angry because, bro, it's only the scriptwriters who can do this shit, I hope Daemon burned all the fake letters.
(The funny thing is that Dameon was mad at everyone and blamed everyone, but when Rhaenyra arrived he was calm with her presence)
They [Daemon and Rhaenyra] have a connection that no one else on the show shares, they are almost the same person, in different bodies. Sarah Hess.
Matt Smith: “[Blood&Cheese] It's love, grief and vengeance. Daemon feels it's impossible not to exact that feeling of revenge when it's in him... [Jaehaerys' death] isn't his mistake ultimately, but he does put it in motion.”
20:51 Jace's scene with Rhaenyra was very beautiful.
Fair but still half her fault this all happened lol
When it comes to the guards theres only 3 kngsguard in kings landing. 3 are with rhaenyra and herald westerling quit last season. And most of the soldiers are on the wall watching or dragons. And im sure the red keep has guards on the outside
One of them asked “What if we can’t find Aemond?” Then the camera cut away. So Daemon PROBABLY said bring me someone’s head at least.
So glad that you are doing reactions to season 2. 👍
Helaena was knitting a veil.
In the trailer she wears it to a funeral.
How did i just notice that lol
Hi guys, i expected you to touch on the revelations heleana talked about, her fear of rats. Sad her child got killed by the ratcatcher. She also looked at the cradle after she said it to aegon.
Blood and cheese asked deamon what's to be done if aemond was not found, the camera cuts only to reveal later that he instructed them to kill a son with the decapitation of a head as proof. These were voiced when they enter aemond's room and when they captured Helena.
First time viewer. Love your reactions. ❤
Thanks for watching with us 🥰🙏🏼
I read the book so I knew the son was going to die, but I’m pretty sure Halaena wasn’t there to see it happen, so when she showed up in the scene my heart absolutely broke, it was devastating
Hi. Would yall ever react to the Black Tape project fashion shows?
I dont think Aegon is a horrible person. He seems like a good father. I think some of his motivations as king are just his need to satisfy and for acceptance that he didn't get from his father. Most of his motovations seem to be trying to right gis fathers wrongs
Fair point!!
Looking forward to seeing you guys cover this season. I'm with y'all on the Switzerland thing. The only team I'm claiming is Sapphire aka Aemond. Lol.
Ya I'm excited that I like the house of the dragon very well 💗🥰.
Meesh & Dee Awesome Video Today!!🔥🐐🐐💎
Kinda wild to say alicent has good in her when she literally just had larys kill innocent people for “information”😂😂
Maybe that big guy killed the rat-catcher and took the kid with him for a bigger reward.
just wanna throw in : I was confused with the names as well at first XD Don't sweat it!
all reactors i have watched so far hate alicent and i am so glad you’re the ones that break that “general audience” opinion 😭😭 she’s my favorite character and i love seeing other people like and understand her too
Alicent is a very nuanced character as well! She’s a mother at the end of the day but you can tell she still has some love for Rhaenyra too 😭🙏🏼
@@MeeshDeeReacts she’s extremely complex and i don’t think people realize how truly hard it was for women under the patriarchy in medieval times, the only people that brought her true joy were her mother and rhaenyra and suddenly she has neither :( she is a victim of her environment more than anything and she IS aware but she acts with what she is given
Son for son because Aymond does not kill easily and is very strong like Damon😬👍
Criston Cole was supposed to be guarding Helaena.
Omggg damn lol even worse knowing that now!
Wondet if he will face any sort of punishment for failing in his duties. Oh let's be honest, of course he won't. He was given the position of commander of the kings guard, a position he doesn't deserve.
@@marcuswilliams7888 spoiler, he doesn’t and even becomes the hand of the king.
I thought he was Alicents sworn protector?
@@alexking988 he’s the captain of the kings guard which protects the king and queen, which is helaena and aegon.
You guys were spot on Amazing review just know in the book it was worst that what blood and cheese did vs the show
15:12, two mothers mourning their children, that's so sad.
Alicent never lost a child...her son murdered Rhaenyra's son!
@@moysterx I was talking about Syrax and Rhaenyra.
I believe they are making a Dunk and Egg spinoff. It's a GRR Novella with a Lone Wolf and a Cub type story
Wtf lmfao
I just learned everyone on hotd imagine dunk and egg and hotd Airing at the same time im gonna be even more lost and confuse with the names 😂😂
@@gojiramonster2388 ?
-D
@@MeeshDeeReactsoh you’re totally fine! it’s just shocking to hear someone say it because of how it went down! I’ve heard nothing but bad about it.
That sound of the heir’s head being cut off…. Dude it’s awful (great) but awful. And yes starting in WINTERFEL loved it !!!!
Its worse in books. They make her choose between her 2 sons she pick the oldest to live and then cheese says you hear that little man your mama wants you to die to the younger kid, then they kill the older one and leave the young one alive.

it's understandable why Alicent is doing Criston, look at how her life has been since she was a teen, forced to marry a much older man, forced to make heirs while doing her duty, making sacrifices...
but now becuase she's slowly losing her power over Aegon, she's latching on to Cole for control but at the same time fulfilling her needs and certain desires that she never fulfilled unlike Rhaenrya but again it makes her feel shameful, and sinful... yes she is being hypocritical but she's definitely not without her own complexities. I actually prefer Show Alicent to book Alicent just because of the route they are going with the character and the fact that Olivia Cooke's performance is so good to watch.
I don't feel there is hypocrisy. They were hardly in the same situations.
Deamon made the qween look bad he told em ta kill that boy
This is High Quality TV
1000!
i do find it funny that an "eye for an eye" is not ok but a "son for a son" is,
i feel like peapole who choose a side emediatly drown in hypocrasy.
Subbing because, even though there was a caveat, you liked season 8. Or at least didn't totally shit on it. I thought it was perfectly fine and a good ending. Anyway, good reaction to House of the Dragon.
Appreciate you watching with us! 🥰🫶🏼
Guards are absent because Crispy (and maybe even Alicent) sent them away so they could secretly bump uglies. I think what Helaena was sewing when Aegon was asking about his sons whereabouts (and Helaena says she's afraid of the rats) is funeral attire....possibly the veil she wears at the funeral :(
Just another lovely day, another war crime for Daemon.
I've never seen any GOT content, but is this a good place to start?
Nah, don't mind me though, just here to support were I can. =^._.^=
Please do one Piece netflix live action series.
I’d have rather seen a series with Arya exploring the unknown than more of Jon wilding out. 😊
ugh so true! would love to see a spin-off of Arya!!
Lol the Queen is not crazy at all. She's clairvoyant. She saw it happening, hence the "I'm afraid of the rats".
But that goes for the rat snatchers and the rats/people.
They watered it down lol
Daemon purposefully sends Blood and Cheese to Helaena’s quarters, and after being asked to pick which child to kill, they threaten to assault her daughter. Whilst crying, she points to her youngest son Maelor, and Blood cuts his head off with one swing of a sword in front of her.
Also Cole should've been Guarding the Queen and her children,instead....
"Game of Thrones"? What is that? Some kind of family friendly children's game like musical chairs?
I was disappointed in this episode. They baby washed b&c, the reactions were lacking. Shock value and impact were nowhere to be found. They started the episode from the north and at first i thought I was watching a different show... They should have started from the moment Daemon told Rhaenyra the news about Luke, because now everything got lost inbetween the seasons.
great reaction

Rhaenyra paid for not apologizing for Aemond's eye and gaslightling her father against him in Ep 7. And here when she says "I want Aemond Targareyn", its funny because girl you caused this!!!
Wtf
Worst take i've ever seen
You’re a troll right ?
What?! That's some mental gymnastics.
you mean Aemond a spiteful, bitter and coward young men who was threatening and terrifying a kid and Arrax (a very young dragon) hysterically with an ancient predator. Aemond is responsible for Lucerys murder, and is a kinslayer.
Aemond has part of the guilt for losing his eye too and Rhaenyra didn't gaslight her father, although Alicent and her father did a lot of that.
Notice how when Helaena said “the rats” she looked directly at her sons crib
