Thank you for sharing your story, Justin. I have a son named Justin who is in jail on heroin charges. I pray he gets treatment and that he finds Jesus. I cried through your entire video because you remind me of my son. Keep on doing what you do - reaching out to those who need the Savior. God bless!
Exactly! Especially when it comes to hard, physically addicting drugs - and perhaps none more so than an opiate/opioid-addiction and/or dependence!!! They are just SOOOO incredibly hard to quit that you literally need to reorganize your entire life, outlook and perception of both yourself and the world, to be successful. And, you will have to (maybe for some time) "work yourself up", and prop up your motivation to an almost ridiculous level (or it might at least seem so for "other ppl" who isn't/haven't been afflicted with a dependency) and be willing as well as prepared to use any- and every-thing that could be useful to you to be able achieve this goal: so that, when it comes down to it you will actually be able to do all those hard stuff that you really WILL NOT actually want, or genuinely have the motivation to do. Like first (and obvious enough) to quit your use of the substances and ride out the absolute, perfect storm that makes up the withdrawals that you will encounter. But after that, and much more both important as well as hard: to completely and entirely "reprogram" your entire thought-habits surrounding not just substance-(mis)use, but also your social life, your whole approach to looking after yourself as best your can which include (but doesn't have to be "limited to") your diet, getting and sticking to a sleeping-routine (which most addicts might NEVER have done before), some kind of physical activity (to get your overloaded, broken and deficient brain-chemistry going again). And this is just the things I believe that any- and every-one IMHO have to do who wish to successfully stop a drug-habit: And thus does not take into account what everyone at an individual level have to do. Which I believe is to find that something, that passion that is appealing to yourself and your individual temperament so that you will be able to put all your energy, drive and creativity to work - and in that way find a new, healthy outlet in your life, which is so crucial when it comes down to finally be able to bring home and cement a new and rewarding sober lifestyle! (So that you actually will be, to put it bluntly able to really live, and not just "survive" in the very same sense as you did back as an addict. Which can otherwise easily lead you right back into your old, familiar tracks!) Because the "next big issue" which can otherwise put your new life in sobriety at great risk is to fail to be able to "kill off" all of that 'extra' time that most, "all of a sudden" will find to have on their hands. Time that was previously swallowed up by everything that surrounded the feeding of the "heavy 'habit'" and often was nothing short of a 24/7-"job"! Heriopate fix: *Even though I accept that spirituality can of-course be one of those things that could provide your new life(style) with a new sense of meaning and so on. I think it is nothing short of ridiculous to say that a belief in God will provide you with the whole, ready-made "answer", to this obviously very hard and complex problem! And, frankly - I personally find it nothing short of offensive to "boil down" all the extreme effort that it takes to actually break a habit such as this one into nothing but an act of God!!! :-( So - what then is your take on all the ones, all around the globe that GETS addicted in the first place? That's just one of His plans and loving ways of "testing" us - or/and making us stronger perhaps? (Think before you speak please - millions of people worldwide DIE before they are able to quit....but, perhaps that is part of His "plan" as well??? This is "just" one of His ways to "call us Home"? Or what....Christ!!!
having a passion while in recovery is key.. its how people STAY clean. mine is surfing his is photography, it can be anything... your passion must take the place of the old addiction, so it becomes your new obsession, consuming every thought. thats when you know you have found your passion.
Thank you for sharing. More people need to know, that their testimony could save the life of someone in the shadows. Your recovery can show others, that they don't have to die from their addiction.
Just Wow!....through his addiction and then recovery God had a plan for him...to minister to others..Praise be to God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.........
This made me cry because nothing that God has given me, a person that was sexually abused and struggles with homosexual attraction, is something that I deserve. He is so, so good. He saves the weary and broken hearted. His love has no comparison. Jesus Christ, You are the only One who is worth anything in my life, thank You.
BigBloc87 - Struggles? With homosexual attraction? I am not gay myself, so can't really comment very much on that. But I am also no homofobe, and what I do know is that homosexuality is not something that you typically SHOULD struggle with - you're either BORN a hetero- or homo-sexual! And I believe that anyone that have made you have struggle and/or suffer because of your homosexuality - isn't even really worthy of your attention! Do you not have enough on your plate already, as it is? If your Christian religion is what is getting you down - you do know that there are actually other religions out there, right?
Jo Bones i,ve read the bible extensively but I know its historically inacurate and the common sense in me understands that its the flawed writings of man the way they picked and chose what of the many parts of the whole amount of writings they included that suit their agenda and what they left puy that didnt suit them. Im more having trouble just convincing myself that God of any description even outside of the main religeons exists although it would greatly comfort me if true and I want to believe.
You can just talk to Him(God) tell Him to make Himself known to you if He is real. You don’t need to go to church or read the Bible to do that. Just tell Him (Jesus) if you are real, show yourself to me.

It’s ok to be gay.

I wish I believed in God, it looks pretty comforting.
Braveheart .........pray.......read the Bible......

Its a good idea to research. I insist you to read the quran. Do an extensive research on the quran and sunnah. See what happens
You can just talk to Him(God) tell Him to make Himself known to you if He is real. You don’t need to go to church or read the Bible to do that. Just tell Him (Jesus) if you are real, show yourself to me.
People will confuse you and tell you He is not real. But if you hear from Him just as you hear from your friend, you’ll never doubt Him
Really cool story about God's grace! Keep it up guys!
