A real time capsule of a down’n’ dirty Texas roadhouse show! The heat with all that film lighting was brutal- the nylon strings on Willie’s guitar are bound to stretch and go flat- and he’s not gentle when he’s playing and I’m sure those “Elvis” glasses weren’t about making a fashion statement! But the show must go on- and boy howdy did it ever! This is a treasure- the whole band kicked ass - especially sister Bobby (RIP) on piano. Thanks for sharing this 🙏👍❤️
Edit: Willie isexplaining/complaining about every temperature control and so having been unplugged to accomodate the lights and camera's. Pitty they jumped into Good Hearted Woman, so there must be more;-).
This was Willie before most folks had ever heard of him. It wasn't until Red Headed Stranger came out in, I believe, 1975 did Willie become the icon we know him as today.
Perfect: what could be expected from Willie and the band from the sweet ‘74, one of the best years in music overall. Thank you so much for uploading: you can’t realize how much joy and bliss you make with your videos. Greetings from Ukraine. Hope I’ll get to Austin someday. Cheers.
Willie doesnt hide a lick. Plays them great and doesn't hide what he's Riding in these great presentantion from olden days. Im oldish but i assume go out listening and watching this. @@monica4034 I believe this is Feb. of 75? As I have figured out, the painting in the back used to be black and white, and then sometime in February they changed it to color like seen in this episode. In Ray Wylie Hubbards episode in January it’s black in white. Maybe you remember?

When did Willie start calling him Mickey Raphael instead of Rayfield or whatever he just said introducing the fishing song? Is that his real name or just mispoke?

Would’ve been 5555 North Lamar. Burned down in early early 76’. Looked like a cool little joint!
