Expressive is definitely it, but I don't know about the "best" animation. If anything, it just shows how much the art style complements the characters movements. It's not complex, overly fancy, or slow. They reuse frames in such a way that makes it look more natural, at least for the medium. So yeah. It's definitely not one of, let alone the "best". But the animators absolutely did an excellent job working on what they have. It's the same feeling as eating a really good grilled cheese sandwich.
@@FrenchDinosaur "Best" doesn't mean "most realistic". The animation in some shows does not match the tone or setting, notably Demon Slayer (too bright) and One Piece (too stiff). This show is perfect in that the style of animation and the animators' willingness to let loose perfectly fits the wacky, insane style of Bocchi's various fantasies. That's what makes it the "best".

I heard about the series during the Autumn Previews and thought I'd check it out, missed the start because I thought 'oh K-on Ripoff' and then saw some wonderful gifs of Bocchi and rushed to get the first 4 episodes watched. I only needed 0:01 for me to know this was going to be my favourite anime of the year and for Bocchi to be best girl because that...I've done that WAY too many times in my life to count it as random
This anime is full of anime references(Dragon Ball,Evangelion,Ashita no Joe,Jojo ecc).There are also videogames references like Undertale and Omori but also anime film references and film in general.The author is a manga and videogame nerd and I love it🥰🤣
What I loved about the end is bocchi singing rock ‘n roll, morning light falls on you, which means eventually bocchi caved in to singing after much thought and persuasion by the whole band and maybe even seika giving bocchi THE talk
