Mandatory Mod for any Toyota 4Runner! LED Headlights!

  • In this video I showcase the new set of LED bulbs for my 2019 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro. Given how easy this is to do, I’d recommend this as the first mod to do on your 5th gen 4Runner.
    Takes 10 minutes to install.
Pop the hood, take off the low beam cap, twist out the OEM bulb, unclip from power wire, click in new LED bulb, res insert and reinstall the cap.
The OEM halogen bulbs are quite annoying on the 2020 and older TRD Pro models... it wasn’t until 2021 that they finally decided to include them. Doing this swap out make the headlights match the LED fog lights.
Here’s the set I bought, they aren’t anything special but they do have great reviews. Good price point too:

My 2020 also has LED high and low beams along with all of the interior being switched to LED. Went with LASFIT for the whole package. Good stuff and reasonable price.

I'm a little worries about that cap blocking the bulb's fan from getting the ventilation it needs. Keep in mind the ballast on this model is built onto the same frame as the bulb so the heat it generates is grand! But definitely a great upgrade from halogens give that you already have a projector lens style headlamp. The highbeams are also doable but you need to adjust the angle of the bulb to get a good flood light pattern.

I don't think I could part with the Voodoo Blue 4Runner. I know the white one is better equipped, but man that blue just stands out and will age very well.

I definitely wanted to do this upgrade to my forerunner, until hurricane weather caused a trashcan to smash my driver side headlight component. The lights still work, except for the blinker. I had to flexseal tape it to keep it safe for now. And now I’m stuck between buying a regular OEM component for $300, or upgrading to some LED lights. But I don’t know how hard the install would be
