What makes GMK all the scarier of a Godzilla to me is not just because of the white eyes and the idea that he is a spirt of those that died in World War ii that want vengeance, but also because its just so much more aggressive and mean compared to the other ones. Unlike in most of the other films where Godzilla is more acting on instinct, GMK Godzilla is going to blow everyone around him up and enjoy doing it.

@@thatjrpganimefanplayerjusi8003Exactly. There are still people killing each other and maintaining a multi-generational grudge based on things that happened decades ago, like in Israel & Palestine. I'm sure whatever spirits entering Goji's remains to revive him as a revenant, aren't so willing to forgive & forget anyways.
To me this Godzilla is in the right and in the wrong I’m writing this on the anniversary of Pearl Harbor but the reason I love this film is that Godzilla is not only just a metaphor for nukes but he’s now one of vengeance to the many people who where killed by the imperial Japanese military during ww2 even in the film the old man says the Japanese people want to forget what happened however it dose not justify Godzilla killing innocent people that had nothing to do with it take this as a reminder this Godzilla is the bad guy but look at the reason behind it
Godzilla literally made a mushroom cloud with a single breath shows how terrifying he is (just like Minus One) but literally killed thousands of people on purpose because he knows who he truly is and what he really mean to
This whole movie is a commentary on how Japan, and in the many ways the rest of the world, has forgotten the horrors of World War 2 and is dangerously unprepared to handle another disaster like the fire bombings of Tokyo, or the atomic bombings, even though the risk of nuclear devestation is higher than ever according to the doomsday clock. Godzilla himself is used as a representation of this mindset - over the years, he's been turned from a manifestation of nuclear carnage into a campy anti-hero who stars in movies with goofy monster battles that are played for laughs. Thats why in this movie, the background characters don't take Godzilla seriously, or even recognize him, until its too late. And thats why this Godzilla is the first one who is actually angry and hateful towards the Japanese people - because he, and everything he represents, has been forgetten. And yes, I am a diehard Godzilla fan and love the campy showa-era films and even movies like Final Wars, but what Kaneko says with this movie is more poignant than any movie since the original.

One of my favourite godzillas =]
1:19 Godzilla: You thought
1:08 a galera do politicamente correto que gosta de sentir pena até de coelhinho morto em caça, deve ter ficado chorando aqui!
Que tem haver doidão?
I love how Godzilla just destroys everything
I'm sure you appreciated the Koichi Kawakita cameo
yes.
I also liked the Koichi Ueda cameo, it was probably his second or third best scene in a godzilla film.
@@GSTE_ recognized his face, but didn't realize he was in pretty much every Heisei and Millennium Godzilla film.
@@BubbaUltra yeah, he was in all the heisei and millenium films that I know of except for 1984.
A lot of people say Minus One is the most horrifying but imagine lying injured in a hospital bed and a monster utterly destroyed the building with you inside of it. That’s pretty intense
See, shaky cam CAN be done well! You just gotta make sure the audience can still see things.
When i was a kid i wasnt scared i was just great idk i just liked it but know as a adult i now realize this godzilla is evil
1:18 "Fuck you in particular!!!"
1:39 i love this shot of GMK Godzilla so much bro
The Black Air Force Atomic Energy is with this Godzilla.
This Godzilla is definitely the most evil version of him, he isn't an ancient apex predator, mutated creature or a creature in pain, he is pure evil that was formed by the combination of the dead souls of WW2's victims who possessed by the body of the 1954 original Godzilla for revenge. He enjoys killing and causing suffering, just evil in pure sense
Minus one looks a lot like GMK if he had pupils
Not really
@GSTE_ Yes, it was godzilla minus one similar if you focus before godzilla using atomic breath to shikishima he using ejecting jet going to the throat and explode but he survived similar to gmk godzilla
People bash this movie for bad vfx, but I think they still hold up. Remember this movie was made in 2001. That’s 22 years ago!
I mean Jurassic Park was 1993 and looks better than any movie today besides Avatar lol
The issue is while US films saw a massive jump in effects quality in the 90's onwards due to improvements in computing Japan was still using 10-20 year older techniques for effects.
"You will Know My Name as the LORD.WHEN I LAY MY VENGEANCE OPON THEE."
His entrance lowkey is a nod to the 1998 Tristar film but done so much more effectively
Brooke is just making the ground shake
Spirit comes back to haunt people who weren't born during WW2. Got it.
Reminds me of 'reparations'.
Spirits don’t care about that they will Attack your future blood as revenge for your past sin doing just saying
@@thatjrpganimefanplayerjusi8003Exactly. There are still people killing each other and maintaining a multi-generational grudge based on things that happened decades ago, like in Israel & Palestine. Some civilizations in the past even waged war with another kingdom or inhabitants of another territory for 100 years or a little longer. I'm sure whatever spirits entering Goji's remains to revive him as a revenant, aren't so willing to forgive & forget anyways.
1:40, It's like Godzilla finally got tired of those people screaming and he decided to shut them up.
To me this Godzilla is in the right and in the wrong I’m writing this on the anniversary of Pearl Harbor but the reason I love this film is that Godzilla is not only just a metaphor for nukes but he’s now one of vengeance to the many people who where killed by the imperial Japanese military during ww2 even in the film the old man says the Japanese people want to forget what happened however it dose not justify Godzilla killing innocent people that had nothing to do with it take this as a reminder this Godzilla is the bad guy but look at the reason behind it
Godzilla literally made a mushroom cloud with a single breath shows how terrifying he is (just like Minus One) but literally killed thousands of people on purpose because he knows who he truly is and what he really mean to
20년 전 재밌게 본 고지라 영화였어요.
망령들의 집합체로 태어나서 살아있는 생명체들을 앗아가는 존재와 이를 막으려는 기도라와 모스라와의 대결.
This movie is a fever dream
This Godzilla had malice. It enjoyed the carnage
For kaiju universe fans in Roblox it would be good to add gmk Godzilla there
With those eyes, Godzilla looks like a "Evil Dead" Godzilla.
It's a shame they deleted the scene of Gigan flying into the climax of the movie to spin his buzz saw stomach and say his iconic phrase "groovy"
Can you please upload more of GMK
Loved the suit actor for baragon just didn't like the neck of this Godzilla suit
0:27 that was unexpected coming from someone who’s never seen GMK yet 😂
And now we have minus one which pretty much follows the same story as GMK except for the other kaijus part.
1:46 nuclear bomb
This godzilla aint evil, his straight up getting even for those war crimes during ww2, he was out here getting back for the lost homies.
@@KurosawaStanthats the point his the cycle of revenge
@@itiswhatitis5455Oh don't forget about the vengeful spirits who are possessed/residing this Godzilla.
