Oh, don’t get me wrong, I still love GMK. It’s just that, even in the movie itself, Mothra and Ghidorah definitely feel like they were there entirely for marketing reasons. Ghidorah in particular is a very strange case, in that he’s a good guy. Still a fantastic movie regardless, though.

Having Mothra actively murder teenagers and literally have no interaction with any human or human-like beings (such as the Shobijin) really just feels wrong, you could swap out Mothra for Megaguirus there and very little would change
This is what the Minus One sequel needs to be if they're gonna make one. Bring back Baragon, Varan, and Anguirus for this sequel instead of Ghidorah and Rodan. Also, that detail with Baragon's ears closing in on his face before burrowing is accurate.
I 2nd this, entirely! Anguirus, Varan and Baragon are the most grounded and underrated. And considering the setting, these underdogs are perfect. According to “Godzilla the ride”, he already has designs for Rodan and King Ghidorah. But those can wait. It’s high time we stop throwing energy towards the MonsterVerse to bring back monsters that this company could’ve brought back at anytime.

@@Dooglemite Except when he doesn't, like with the Oxygen Destroyer, the Blood Coagulant, Destoroyah himself, and also the actual GMK where he explodes after a drill missile creates an exit wound in his neck, which causes his Atomic Breath to backfire.
A little stiff on some of the animations but overall really good. I liked how each of them have their own special abilities: 1. Varan is the most agile 2. Baragon has the fire breath and burrowing 3. Anguirus has defense and can redirect ranged attacks.

@@studioresurgenceoh Ghidorah could still be a space monster. The guardians aren’t primordial elementals but defeated kaiju that were rampaging and imprisoned in ancient times to be “purified” . They could all have their original origins prior to becoming mystical guardians, the plot just isn’t concerned with that. I do think it’s incredibly funny the idea this movie has Ghidorah out of prison and out on parole.
For those who don’t know in gmk it was supposed to be these kaijus appear in the movie not mothra or ghidorah but they changed for some reason and then they changed the head of ghidorah to make it more look like varan
King ghidorah is very popular, and mothra appeals to the female crowd, so toho wanted them to boost the attendance. The higher up at toho felt varan was too obscure, and anguirus was somehow unpopular with the current audience. But at least baragon made it for the film, but it's unfortunate they didn't give the director the chance to give the movie the vision he wanted.
The original script was also referenced in the prequel novels for the anime trilogy, where Varan, Baragon and Anguirus are all confronted, and killed by Godzilla at the same time during his rampage across the planet.
Wow, this is a great 3D animation fight based on a scrapped concept of a film. The animated movements, choreography, cinematography, and sound effects are all great mate, especially when Anguirus went into his ball mode and starting to sonic sound effects. Speaking of Anguirus, I love that you added a new ability for Anguirus to absorb attacks and fire the energy back to the opponent (a very nice reference to Shin Gojira’s photon back beams). Baragon and Varan being teams before Varan got accidentally friendly fired by Anguirus while Baragon and Anguirus being collateral kill by Godzilla. Speaking of Godzilla, Godzilla in this video is a bloody beast and ruthless, just like his film counterpart in GMK. Can’t wait for your next project mate.
Fun fact: Did you know that the costume designer for the movie's favorite Kaiju was Varan? He was extremely disappointed when Toho shafted him in favor of King Ghidorah, but compromised by putting Varan's face fins on Ghidorah's heads instead

YES! A 3D animation involving the GMK Godzilla and the three Kaiju he was originally going to face in Giant Monsters: All-Out Attack. This incarnation doesn't get enough attention in fan-animations along with the other Millenium Era Godzilla designs.
Really glad to see an interpretation of the beam-reflective carapace of "GMK" Anguirus, one of my favorite additions to his kit from that unused draft. Fun video!
I wish I had clicked on this sooner because that was fantastic! I also love that you gave Anguirus an ability that doesn't too out of place (unlike the actual proto All-out Attack Anguirus, which had a strange power to put it lightly...).
Shusuke Kaneko had the right idea. Varan and Anguirus deserved more love and would have been amazing in this movie. I get that Mothra and King Ghidorah are bigger names and more notable, but Mothra had a ton of movies to her name already and King Ghidorah was a BAD GUY, and a bad fit for a "guardian monster"... Oh well, such is life. Animations like these are awesome to see though!

I can't describe how much I really enjoyed this film. I always love the original GMK idea and you nailed it sooo good!!! I really love how Anguirus use his spikes to block Godzilla atomic breath and later use it as a power like Shin Godzilla spikes power (Idk the name but I hope you get what I mean) Overall amazing job! 11 out of 10!!!
wish these were the monsters used in GMK. it helps that their smaller weaker looking stature makes Godzilla looks so much more imposing. that effect is lost when you have King Ghidora a monster even bigger and more imposing than godzilla in the "guardian" role.

This was really well made! Good job! This would have definitely been a more heart breaking film as even when the three underdogs band together, they still wouldn’t be enough to defeat Godzilla 😢 I hope the humans would make statues dedicated to them.
Very phenomenal! Though my biggest question is, why didn’t you design Anguirus, Varan and Baragon like they were supposed to look in the original GVAB script? Cuz their designs were shown through models. Baragon was more red, Anguirus was of ice or water and Varan was golden and of wind.

Great use of Purplish guy models, I love how their animation is fluid but still have the suitmation feels, they fought very fiercely but Godzilla just refuse to give up his vengeance and his will to victory is too powerful, he think this guardians kaiju is a fool to protect those who are responsible to make him this way on the first place
Alright I will admit off the bat I was sad watching Baragon, Varan, and Anguirus all die because frankly my boy Any needs some respect but in all honesty despite that this animation was incredable. I enjoyed every minute of it even if the ending did make me a little sad.

Somehow i prefer the original concept of GMK, cuz Ghidorah being an earth kaiju is such a "what if" moment

東宝側が『バランとバラゴンとアンギラスではコケるからモスラとキングギドラを出して欲しい」と言う要望でバランとアンギラスは引っ込められて、モスラとキングギドラが入り、バラゴンだけが残りました。

this is amazing, how it has only over 4k likes? the animations are very smooth and agile yet sometimes stiff tho and the lighting on kaijus doesnt look well but overall very good job for especially the effects and background! keep it up man, youre def getting a new sub :D

Very phenomenal! Though my biggest question is, why didn’t you design Anguirus, Varan and Baragon like they were supposed to look in the original GVAB script? Cuz their designs were shown through models. Baragon was more red, Anguirus was of ice or water and Varan was golden and of wind.

The reason i didn’t go for their 2001 designs is that i think it’ll be more fun to use these versions of the characters and free of the limits from the original 2001 designs, plus these awesome models by purplishmodels on deviantart are more than enough for me

Great use of Purplish guy models, I love how their animation is fluid but still have the suitmation feels, they fought very fiercely but Godzilla just refuse to give up his vengeance and his will to victory is too powerful, he think this guardians kaiju is a fool to protect those who are responsible to make him this way on the first place

Alright I will admit off the bat I was sad watching Baragon, Varan, and Anguirus all die because frankly my boy Any needs some respect but in all honesty despite that this animation was incredable. I enjoyed every minute of it even if the ending did make me a little sad.
