The Last Samurai - Main Theme (Piano Version)
Piano Version by Patrik Pietschmann
You had asked several times for "The Last Samurai" by Hans Zimmer, now you get it! I tried to put all the important melodies from the soundtrack into this piano version. I hope that you like it!
Any suggestions for future arrangements? Please leave them in the comments.
You can now STREAM or DOWNLOAD this track on all major music services, such as Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, Apple Music, Amazon, Deezer, Tidal, etc. Here's the link: lnk.to/xXakqQ
Yay ^-^
My commute to work just got more bearable
This is good , I mean really good, but is too fast at times, it loses its feeling when it’s too quick. A small measure of piece or a way of life tell much more of the story too. IMO. Massive fan of your work.
Ho my god! Really? THAAAAANK YOU!
For me this remains as the best one you have ever made. It's really really outstanding!! Congrats!!
You could spend your whole life looking for the perfect piano arrangement and it would not be a wasted life
Awesome response, man... Be proud., really.
true man

4 years later, Patrick, and this is still my favourite arrangement of yours.
Love it.
Same! I’m trying to learn it, but I’d say it’s probably one of his hardest so it’s taking a while 😅
@@breeze5440 me too.. :D :D
@breeze5440
Where did you get the sheet for it?
You know he uses loops and that things can't be played with two hands right?
@@JoSwann-it9jf The sheet is in the description
@@JoSwann-it9jfNo no, it’s very much possible. Jus hard lol

They... are... all... perfect..."

1:35 .... send chills up my damn spine, why don’t yah? AMAZING
DonCorleone87 I agree. That part’s my favorite part of the song. 👍
@@jellyfishwithwifi6870 agreed
Agreed.
@@jellyfishwithwifi6870 Indeed sir.
@@jellyfishwithwifi6870 in the movie, this part of A Way of Life sounds peaceful and serene. In this composition, it feels peacefully sad - so much more beautiful. Great composition.

Thank you so much 😍😍
We would love you to play "No Time For Caution" by Hans Zimmer as well 😍😍
Please
Best wishes
As always, w'all like it. Have a nice week-end !
Thank you so much. It's amazing. I feel like i just saw the whole movie again.
This is gonna be out of left field, but since you’re doing songs I wouldn’t have expected - could you do the ‘Perfect Storm’ theme(s) by James Horner?
Thanks!!!!
This soundtrack is my favorite of Hans Zimmers’ catalogue. It never gets the recognition it deserves. Well done sir!
My favorite is Time... Time is incredible, so beautiful
Neither does the movie
Best Hans Zimmer ost and best Tom Cruise performance / film
yes iam with you!!
I use to make it my ringtone..Hanz 💕
I love Last Samurai OST, one of the most underrated Soundtracks of Zimmer. Absolutely well played, every Video you upload is an instant like!!
I second this !
Thanks! :-)
I think you just inspired me to pick up the piano again after years.
@Mitchell Chrest I am very happy about that!
It was one of his last truly original works. It seems since Batman and Inception, so many of his soundtracks sound like a mish mosh of the same material.
Just close your eyes and listen from 1:34 to 2:21. Masterpiece
This made me cry... it’s entirely beautiful and encapsulated the sadness and pain in the final scenes in the movie yet also brings a sense of peace and calm that come in the final moments of Katsumoto’s life.
This piece is so beautiful on strings, but I never though it can be rendered onto piano and still maintains its splendor and emotional depth. Really well done! I really love it.
This part is just amazing
3:08 - 3:55
2:22 Legendary, iconic and beautiful. All in one…
I'm pretty sure i'm half the views
And im the other half
Nah it's me
What about me? 😂
No my Hans zimmer piano version of a kawai k300 aures has no views😢
Me too, bro. Me too.
I am blown away. That movie is one of my absolute favorites and this arrangement took me right back to the first time I watched it. Thank you
Best performance in your entire catalog. It’s perfection
"You regained your honor... let me die with mine."
Best composer: Hanz Zimmer
Best arrangeur: Patrik Pietschmann
This whole soundtrack is amazing. This sounds absolutely mesmerizing on the piano. Goosebumps every time.
Tell me how he died
*No, I'll tell you how he played the piano*
nice

That's it!
I lived in Japan from 1967 thru 70. I loved this movie and could understand a lot of what they were saying even without subtitles. This piano rendition is even more beautiful than the music played on the movie.
Omg . Hahahha
You dont know how deep your soul can be touched until you listen a well played amazing composition like that
👏👏👏👏👏 to Hans and Patrik
It is so unbelievably beautiful. I loved the song as is in the movie but wow...the piano rendition is so good...it brings tears. Thank you to Hans for putting this out there.
Listen to Brooklyn duo the cranberries zombie, it will melt your soul.
Your arrangements are truly unique.
C'est la plus belle partition piano que j'ai pu entendre et jouer pour le thème principal du dernier samouraï! Magnifique surtout à partir de 1'40 et splendide à partir de 2'!
I’m in love with both your playing and your song choice.
Patrik's renditions make me feel that rare combination of emotions: intense joy and frustration.
Joy at how beautiful they are and frustration that my inept hands can't do this.
1:34 The beginning of the "Arpeggio'esque" notes here is just amazing, though pay attention to the warmth that comes from that 2nd C note at 1:48 in the sequence, it's pure euphoria.
The movie and this magical touch from hans zimmer were truly a masterpiece
This is most beautiful, action packed, and relaxing piece I've ever heard. This song is its own story.
2:21 to 2:51, Are the best notes iv'e heard in my life ❤
I don't know what it is about the music in this movie. Hans Zimmer makes great music in many, many movies. But this movie in particular, the music is just perfect. Every note. They... are all.... perfect. *sniff sniff* RIP Katsumoto
Honestly. I would like to thank you for this. Every time I listen to this i feel like being in heaven and in peace. Thank you.
Wow what a beautiful piece, made moreso by your amazing execution. I'm happy that we both share a love for Hans Zimmer.
Hi . Is this music on it as a reprint and publication. Because I want to use it to make my videos on RUclips?

How dare you use the F word, but I do agree with that this person deserves way more recognition for how amazing this is and sounds.
Almost anybody deserves more recognition than a Fortnite RUclipsr

true, i'm myself a fortnite player but i seriously think to stop, this is litterally dragging me to the dark side, when a hope made of light waiting for me with that sweet melody
One of my favourite films of all time. The story I love, but my word the music. Hans zimmer somehow has a score that not only supports the story, but tells its own without being overpowering. You have captured that perfectly in this cover. Beautiful
Takes me back - haven't seen that film in years. Great work as always, Patrik!
it'll probably be on again this christmas
The last samurai is one of my favorite movies and this masterpiece made me cry 🥹
Quel plaisir que vous ayez choisi cette musique merveilleuse! Votre talent rend bien hommage au génie de Hanz Zimmer et à la poésie de la mélodie.

I could watch this movie any day. I have seen it so many times it's impossible to count. Playing the theme on the piano certainly brings new life into an already beautiful theme. Then again, Hans Zimmer.... can't go wrong with anything written by him. arrangements are going to be amazing. Love the interactions between Ogren and the Japanese family he ended up with; how he grew to care about those kids...
Hey Patrick that's beautiful
Thank you very much!
I first watched this back in 7th grade in 2019, and now in 2024 freshman in college still enjoying it. This is my go-to song when studying.
I’m still hoping for that Tron: Legacy cover!! 🤞🤞
That would be epic
Indeed, that would be awesome! 👏🏻
I would purchase a copy right away!
Let's see. ;-)
@Milton Andrés Manrique Gutierrez You are crazy! :-)
I think I've listened to this nearly every day for a year now, and I never get sick of it. Just absolutely love it, amazing!
This is the second best after Interstellar 😍
So freaking good man!
Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor and fanboy out at the same time. Never thought I would hear an arrangement of that score, let alone one this perfect.
Just starting learning this piece. Got a long way to go but it's absolutely incredible, so worth it. One of my favorite piano pieces/soundtracks and one of my favorite movies.
I would learn to play the piano just to play this
No kidding, I learned the piano to play Tennessee from Perl Harbor. Since yesterday I have felt ready to learn. And meanwhile it is feasible for me (:
Hans Zimmer has given birth to many masterpieces but this one is special and this cover is absolutely beautiful
My favorite movie, my favorite soundtrack... And now I found this...do you know what? I love it!!! It's so amazing ❤️🔝
His skills are out of the world
Thank you for reminding me of this song...
I'm obsessed with looking at his fingers flying on the board.
"You've regained your honor, now let me die with mine..."
Really love The Last Samurai theme. It feels incredibly bittersweet!
This is so damn good, ive been listening to it everyday since you released it.
Still listening?
@@Yorogiro yes sir.
Yes sir
The opening you captured the song where they into the village and incorporated that into the entire song it was such a small part of the movie, it was absolutely beautiful and your version is incredible
I can’t begin to describe how good I think this is
Beautiful, and whats more beautiful is that you can hear Interstellar themes all over the place at the beggining. Bravo Mr. Pianist!
Thank you for this, this is really amazing. At 1:33 your composition goes to another dimension which is so deeply moving.
ohhh yeesss
This theme is utterly beautiful, leaves me speechless. Mr. Pietschmann, you will aways be my guide through contemporary piano music.
Amazing job man! The Last Samurai is one of my favorite films of all time and you freaking nailed it!
I think why I love this above all Hans Zimmer tracks save for Gladiator is that both in Gladiator and this he actually has a very memorable melody. I mean I like the way he pushed how the way we think about movie scores, but the more classical melodical themes of his are his best.
man its just like the movie,I can't believe what I am watching here. Your the best piano piano player I have heard of!
My son was amazed by your video and your piano skills. Thanks for sharing this one and more.
Hi Patrik, I don't know if you're reading this but I've been listening to this piano version every other day since you first posted it. It is genuinely so beautiful. In fact, it inspired me so much that I bought my first piano recently and have started to learn how to play properly for the first time. So, thank you for this.
Me too. I 'nailed' the first 20 sec of this. I suppose it's best to start with something else to develop the necessary technical skills. These constant arpeggios across the whole keyboard are really hard, so it may take a long time.
I decided to learn some beginner classics like Bach's prelude I in C major (do give it try), fur Elise etc so I'll be slowly building up towards this performance.
Me to ^^
@clockfixer5049
If you play the first 20 seconds exactly as it is here then you must be using a recorder to overlay a loop because that's what is happening here.
I listened to your music hundreds of times and I am always moved by this talent
That was incredible 10/10
Interstellar takes you outa this world but this here brings you back to earth. Beautiful stuff
This is beautiful thank you for putting so much effort into this
