I like the platform because nearly all SUVs and trucks are IFS and leaf or link rear suspension. And I still am okay with body posts, they are simple, they work and more importantly its easier to put any body you want on the rig.
I think they did a really good job with this truck. One of the biggest innovations, on top of that banging suspension, is that paint, with the undercoat to show through with scratches. That is some awesome thinking out of the box from Element RC. I love seeing cool innovation happen in our hobby!
Another appealing option from Element. They still don't have a 'regular' 313mm wheelbase IFS yet, though. I'd like to see that, plus the parts to put together an SWB IFS. Speaking of wheelbase, the extra 1/2" in this truck isn't going to help its tight turning ability. Element claims 45 degree steering with IFS2, so I think that wheelbase and the relatively-small overdrive explain why it didn't turn a little better. The truck definitely looked more settled at higher speeds. Nice review.
The steering needs work, and that longer wheelbase only compounds it's limitations, but a better servo/horn/arm would definitely tighten that up! Not a jeep body fan, but there's tons of aftermarket bodies for these rigs now... Great video! 3s keeps that thing nimble!! Keep up the great work!
i keep meaning to tell you, check out 7 falls just off rt 9, and also new exit 10 thats goes over toward the goodspeed, both have a bunch of challenging spots without much of any walking, 7 falls is good year round and exit 10 is better when its very dry
People complain about the crawling ability when it's not a crawler. It's a trail truck. If you want a crawler you don't want IFS or trailing arms. Solid axles are the only way to go for rock crawling.
Wish they would make this model a builder’s kit, would be a great starting point for a pre runner build I want to do but i hate to wast so much money just to throw half it in a bin never to be seen again
I did the Zuul. What they'll probably do next is make it scratch and weather. Funny thing is, Element claims to have been the first to do the scratch and weather paint job but, Axial was first with the Wraith 1.9s. They have silver under the black or orange and as the top coat wears off, the silver shows through.
Not a fan TBH. Suspension seems very hard and the vehicle does not comply with deflection or articulations. TBH, it looks like it runs like a cheap knockoff, not what I would expect to Team Associated. Shame, looks good though.
Was thinking the same thing. Wish they would just put softer springs and lighter shock oil in their IFS rigs out of the box, but pretty easy to change after.
@@zachrichards9426 Yep, that said. I don't think we should have to buy them and then alter them to make them act properly, shame. Would have picked one up but I am not paying good money for something that I know will no crawl properly and needs to be altered to make that happen when it is sold as an RTR crawler. Just not good enough. That's this chit China pulls, difference is that they are a lot cheaper.
I'm an Element fan but I really wish they'd stop with the "weather" body. Just make it an optional body. Other than that, I love it! Lol. Waiting on an ifs2, GKS and stealth xf!
I see your links go to a main hobbies. I ordered the arma typhon grom from horizon hobby April 4th and it still hasn't shipped I paid for 3 to 5 days shipping for $6.99 through FedEx and it still hasn't even shipped. I got an email today updating me and it said 0 for shipping but they added the $6.99 on the price of the vehicle. Zero for shipping in $8 and change for tax. I called them up today and they said oh the shipping will be added on when it shipped I said they already added the shipping on the original price of the vehicle and they told me the same thing, I wonder how many other people have had this problem with horizon hobby? I'm sure I'm not the only one and they can't fool me by adding the shipping on the total of the vehicle. I would like to get other people to comment on this to see if anybody else has experienced this because if they have I believe there is legal matters that need to be taken care of! I have never had a problem with amain hobbies everything has always been perfect.

Thats old, man. Even Arrma did this when the outcast/notorius first came out all those years ago.
@@AsurasWrath164 I had never heard of it, and I have yet to buy an Arrma. That is really a great idea!
This is awesome! I love the ifs with trailing arm rear!

I like it a lot. I had an Element Trailwalker and it did fine for my novice trail adventures. I would consider this.
I just got one of these. A little suspension adjustment and its a capable machine. Brass and wheel upgrade enroute.
That front end looks STIFF out of the box
I'm loving the Ecto 12 I just got , and this one looks cool too😊
0:16 it has IFS front suspension, you do realize that IFS stands for independent front suspension right?

It's a Toyota inspired body

I’ll look into that spot. Thanks!
Looks so cool ! Do you know if there is a front and rear differential option? Preferably sealed so you can tune it 🤔👍
Awesome!!!! I would like to see you add some LEDs all over and also brake lights LED. Also can a 6in figures driver fit inside??😢😮
I "need" this one in my fleet

Worthless post
@@darkblack7317 how so? Just stating what the truck is, not what people want it to be. It's not a rock crawler.
Exactly. Hell, this platform gives us an awesome pre-runner base. I'm excited!
Very kool truck
I'm wondering about the (lack of) ground clearance at the front.
No but I am in! Ordering!
Is the ecto that fast too
If you want to go to a hobbywing motor combo, since the ESC is a combo with the receiver do we have to buy a new receiver or this can still be used?
Now I want this, but I just got a new 10th scale 😢.
Good stuff.
also your link is taking me to a solid axle version?
Been waiting for a IFS/GKS truck since the Ecto was released.
I said punch it, and you punched it. Awesome rig. Also curious to see it loaded with LEDs
No drag Brake?
Nice 👍🏾
Where was this last week when I bought my trx4 high trail sport with the new Traxxas special $50 off plus a free winch kit?
You got the better truck
Need to put some Bfg krawler tires on it
It seems fast

Id get this wait for the brushed motor to go out and then throw a fusion in it
I've found with crawlers the brushed motor never dies.
@@PonkyKonglol agreed they’re unkillable unless you have a thing for high voltage lol

I have bad luck with FedEx
I wish somebody would send me a free truck !!!!!!
Boooo 2 in 1 esc receiver. I would never buy that shit.
Ecto with an ifs2 lol and a different body
