The second watch is not really a "cross between a mid-century dirty dozen style field watch and a type A flieger." It is a 100% exact homage to the IWC Mark XI pilot's watch produced from 1948 to the 1970s for the Royal Air Force. The clipped hour hand was introduced in 1952. JLC also produced a few Mark XI for the same contract, but the San Martin is exactly like the IWC.
Hey Jody! I've only recently (last 6 months or so) become interested in watches and watchmaking. Your channel and videos like this really provide the information I'm looking for and the detail to understand terminology and the field. I appreciate that quite a lot. I've fallen in love with several San Martin's (like the SN030-Q) and videos like this really provide great insight and I always look forward to them. Your video on making your own watch inspired me to do just that too; the last part is arriving today for my father in law. Again, thank you!
I got my first San Martin about a month ago. I got the 36mm Ranger and I LOVE IT. The quality is insane. I wouldn't change a single thing except the lug width but even then it's not that big of a deal. Haven't taken it off my wrist since it got here. 10/10.
The SN0123 (Benrus Type 1 homage) has been updated to V2 with larger fence post hour & minute hands (more correct to original) and a matte bezel insert instead of glossy. Very pleased with my purchase. Excellent bezel action with no back play.
Just received a black SN0036 V1 yesterday and I'm super impressed with the materials and finishing. It's my first San Martin but probably not my last. I opted for the Miyota 8315 for the slight upgrades over the 8215. V2 looks even better. The upgrades are great and I think the switch to the NH35 was a good move, even if I'm getting a bit sick of that movement. Only reason I picked the V1 was because I'm a boring guy that likes boring black dials 😂
I bought the blue dial v1 earlier in the year. Agree incredible finishing for the money, I had the 8215 though and the rotor noise drove me nuts! I wish they offered the PT500 in more of the watches, as I'm the same getting a little sick of the nh35.
Astounding how San Martin can offer so many quality watch models at a veritable pittance. Their ability to sustain themselves and grow at such a low profit margin and apparently sufficient sales volume to offset their investment costs aka their business model is something to marvel at. Great review as always Jody. Thank you.
I wanted a San Martin watch so I bought the sn085 with black enameled dial and red bezel... Such an amazing watch and got it from last year's sale for about 115 USD... You can't get any better for the price.
The San Martin chronograph (SN0120W) is 37mm, while the Baltany field chronograph (S5033) is 39mm. There is also a Militado (ML1868) version, which has three sub-dials, a date window and 39mm case. In any case, look for reviews for each and see if it has better quality features you prefer (given the price). I think someone did compare some of these, but I'm not certain what the differences were.
All three uses the same 20 mm size nylon straps. The San Martin's dial is more dark grey than Baltany's black. And I think per watch review from another site, the lume is better on the Baltany vis-a-vis the Militado.
Titanium case and bronze bezel…….. Sinn T50 GBDR. it’s beautiful! I’ve seen a review from an Aussie dealer, so I’m sure someone with your connections could find one locally.
It’s amazing how many micro brands get their watches from San Martin - isn’t it 😉…. Personally, I only own one and it’s their homage to the Tudor Pro, but it is outstanding value.
Hi Jody great list I really like the SN007-G-45 Pateklike wish it was in a smaller size, I will keep my fingers crossed the do it smaller in the future.
That's a lot's of great sales. Unfortunately, I already have so many San Martin's in my collection,I just received the 36mm Ranger love it..San Martin has so many great pieces..10 awesome watches ⌚️ the last Avocado 🥑 piece love it...
Can’t go wrong with a SM. I think they are still top dog. Although they might be feeling the heat since they are releasing some of their popular watches with slightly lower specs for less money. Great list as always.
Those GMTs are a delight. I just wish the sand one had a rotating ceramic bezel. I'd buy it right away. I wish more SMs had a date option! So many that I'm so close to buying but then they don't have a date.
That first San Martin GMT is quite nice looking and a good price. FYI, Tudor does off the Jubilee (excuse me err 5-link) on their new Black Bay 41mm diver released this year. It's the same red & gilt as the San Martin.
I had the San Martin Water Ghost, green dial, sent it back as the dial colour was lame. To San Martins credit, they took it back. I am a little gun shy on San Martin, presentation wise as a consequence. Thanks for the video.
My pick is one you didn't review, the SN0111T. A grade 5 Titanium homage to the older smaller sized Rolex Sea Dweller. It's a bit on the pricey side but a beautiful watch.
If i had the spare dollary doos I'd be buying another Erebus in a different colourway - probably the yellow. The first GMT with the sand dune dial is pretty special looking.
Thank you for making this video! It introduced me to a few models that I wasn't aware of. But I was surprised to see that the SN0136 wasn't mentioned here. I would love to hear your thoughts on that model.
Thanks for so informative video. But for those who wants watches with VH31 movement and much more beautiful dials there a couple of other well known brands to choose from
They do make a great range of watches, I'm glad number 11 was there , the sn0116 watches are fantastic, I still think I prefer my blue dial version, but the matching straps are a great idea 👍
Great recommendations and coverage as always Jody. Though I recently picked up this bronze case SM and think it is a steal (or should I say bronze). Wondering what you might think of it.
4:51 Hey Jody, worth noting that the new Black Bay Master Chronometer released this year does come on a 5 link bracelet (don’t call it a jubilee! 🙄😂) option and that is definitely the model this one is inspired by! 👍🏻 Be good to see the option spread through the rest of their dive watches in due course.
Good lord that SN0129-G is incredible. Unfortunately, it looks too much like a watch I already have (the Zelos Ti Swordfish with the brushed titanium dial), otherwise I'd be ALL over this...... must resist!!! Quick edit: does the SN0066 have a diver's extension? I'm considering it as a complimentary dive watch to my dive computer
Jody! Great vid. My basket is full! Just FYI you have the wrong watch in the clip @ 10:25. Oh the shame! 😅👍🏻 PS- I thought Erebus made the best dive watches under $300?? ☺️
Regarding watch number 7: I feel the need to point out that Sinn does make a Titanium case/bronze bezel watch. Of course, there's quite the price difference, and it's not the same kind of bronze. The Sinn model number is T50 GBDR if anyone is interested in seeing it.
Hey Jody, amazing vid as always, I was curious if you could pick up a Baltany 1921 for review some time soon, it seems to be a new watch, inspired by the Vacheron Constantin 1921, hearing your opinion on it would be appreciated. Cheers!
That first one has two many hands. The gmt hand is in similar color, the second hand and the too long counter balance of the second hand. At a glance the dial looks a moving spider.
Thank you Jody! A very nice bunch of watches. And the sale seems to be offering some ok deals. By the way Jody, when are you going to announce the 3rd winner of your 3 watch giveaway?! It feels like weeks and weeks since you announced the second winner.. 😮😉 Or...did I miss something?
So many GMTs, and yet you missed the Pelagos GMT! That was such a clever idea, and one that no one else of the half a dozen or so Pelagos clones offers. I'm also a big fan of the sunburst brown dial 39mm SN020, which is sort of a "what if Rolex 1016 Explorer, but applied markers?"
If I was SM i would definately go down the Grand Seiko hand painted/ screen paper dials where the biggest affect on price is labour cost/skilled artisan numbers .... which is potentially China's biggest advantage.A $500-$750 GS style dial and hands?
The second watch is not really a "cross between a mid-century dirty dozen style field watch and a type A flieger." It is a 100% exact homage to the IWC Mark XI pilot's watch produced from 1948 to the 1970s for the Royal Air Force. The clipped hour hand was introduced in 1952. "100% exact homage" - minus the stupid pocket watch crown.
Already have that 'wave' / 'desert' GMT in my cart... It looks phenomenal for the price.
That GMT Avacado is is STUNNER. San Martin needs to make more of those...they WILL sell!

What’s the ref number?

Wow that SN006-G with blue dial is one good looking watch
Hi Jody, just a heads up 10:25 shows B Roll from a different watch than the Sub. Have a great day sir!
The Avocado GMT looks amazing
Astounding how San Martin can offer so many quality watch models at a veritable pittance. Their ability to sustain themselves and grow at such a low profit margin and apparently sufficient sales volume to offset their investment costs aka their business model is something to marvel at.
Great review as always Jody. Thank you.
0 R&D 0 design
What do you expect?
Plus supplemented by their fakes/ replicas they make
@@kalkin8129 And no warranty.
@@jamied931Really? Is this a hunch or do you have evidence?
The second watch reminds me of an IWC Mark 11
Wow! The first GMT watch looks amazing. All in all the finishing on most of their watches is phenomenal for the price.
The first watch is an absolute show-stopper for me. That's on the list.

That Tudor lookalike is immense 😮

Its hardly a homage, its a direct copy of worse quality, might as well have Tudor plastered on the dial, its a complete fake
@@callumwilliams2730 I'm guessing you've never had a San Martin
You sure know how to release the best videos at the BEST time. I'll be getting a few of these, no question.
Nothing to do with watches, but I love your T-shirt!
Been keeping an eye on that SN0129 white dune dial for a while. What a gorgeous watch
gonna pick up a san martin bb58 SN-004 limited edition with a matte bezel this 11.11 Ali Sale for sure!
Such a great brand, what’s not to love?
You're right on the green one. It's a stunner.
Hi Jody great list I really like the SN007-G-45 Pateklike wish it was in a smaller size, I will keep my fingers crossed the do it smaller in the future.

LOVE YOUR SHIRT!!!!! Huge Mad Max fan!!
" A piece here, a piece there."
"It's the last of the V8's."
"Sucks nitrous!"
Can’t go wrong with a SM. I think they are still top dog. Although they might be feeling the heat since they are releasing some of their popular watches with slightly lower specs for less money. Great list as always.
I love San Martin! Thanks for the recommendations!
Beside watches, your T-Shirts are legend. Greetings from Germany 🖖
Those GMTs are a delight. I just wish the sand one had a rotating ceramic bezel. I'd buy it right away.
I wish more SMs had a date option! So many that I'm so close to buying but then they don't have a date.
That is incorrect- the newest Tudor BB with the red bezel has the option for the jubilee style bracelet
Appreciate this list of San Martins.
Stellar show. Love that Marathon Navigator look-alike: especially when their new metal one is clocking in at 1,000 bucks!
The Tudor that the sn0128 is clomaging does come with a jubilee bracelet and t fit clasp the 128 now also has a green bezel version too
You're wrong about this, Jody. Tudor does offer a Jubilee style bracelet on the red bezel Black Bay unveiled on this year's Watches & Wonders
That first San Martin GMT is quite nice looking and a good price. FYI, Tudor does off the Jubilee (excuse me err 5-link) on their new Black Bay 41mm diver released this year. It's the same red & gilt as the San Martin.

San Martin do Seiko better than Seiko does! Minus the QC issues.. that sparkly GMT at the beginning looks remarkable!!!
nobody offers more quality features for the money than san martin
I wonder if a 39mm can be pulled off on an 8+in wrist 🤔
If i had the spare dollary doos I'd be buying another Erebus in a different colourway - probably the yellow.
The first GMT with the sand dune dial is pretty special looking.
Does anyone else point up when Jody says “now you saw the pop up…….🚨‼️”?
That bronze/Ti watch has a cool steampunk vibe to it, I like it.
Thank you for making this video! It introduced me to a few models that I wasn't aware of. But I was surprised to see that the SN0136 wasn't mentioned here. I would love to hear your thoughts on that model.
I´d never buy a homage watch, but some of these San Martins are interesting.
I really love the bronze and ti one. It's super sterile in an industrial way I love, but could also make it not get reached for
Would love these kinds of videos with some other brands like pagani design and addiesdive.
That's a very nice collection of cute little watches. Thanks.
I LOVE the limited edition green color way, but it’s a bit too large for my wrist. So I ordered the 38mm SN004 V2 Watchdives collab in blue
Great watches Jodie I have 2 myself great quality
The Avocado GMT is not as limited as we were led to believe. Myself and at least 100 other people have # one of 100 lol. 🤣🤣
#10 is straight the old Helson Buckeneer.
If the San Martin red watch was right color, I’d buy it. Red is a tricky color
Must resist. San martin is almost getting me to buy one.
Tudor is actually offering jubilee-style bracelets on their gilt BB’s with red bezels sinds their latest updates and new offerings.
Thanks for so informative video. But for those who wants watches with VH31 movement and much more beautiful dials there a couple of other well known brands to choose from
Mark, i know you got some connect with san Martin. We need the no logo or custom dial back. Their logo aint gonna cut it.
That compressor diver looks like a Seiko turtle and a glashutte got busy and had an offspring!
They do make a great range of watches, I'm glad number 11 was there , the sn0116 watches are fantastic, I still think I prefer my blue dial version, but the matching straps are a great idea 👍
I really liked the first one and the 036
Surprising how many gmt watches are being produced, Are there so many people who need a dual time watch?
Yeah, get yourself a Casio Royale watch and have all the time zones you could ever want.
My goodness, that first dressy GMT 😲😍
I love these! Wow
Great recommendations and coverage as always Jody. Though I recently picked up this bronze case SM and think it is a steal (or should I say bronze). Wondering what you might think of it.
The 2nd watch you showed is a direct homage to the RAF Mk XI
The last San Martin GMT should be called the AVACADO cos it looks like an avocado in a good way.
4:51 Hey Jody, worth noting that the new Black Bay Master Chronometer released this year does come on a 5 link bracelet (don’t call it a jubilee! 🙄😂) option and that is definitely the model this one is inspired by! 👍🏻
Be good to see the option spread through the rest of their dive watches in due course.
Naughty boy calling it a Jubilee! And Nato!
Got the San Martin SN0107-G, great little watch. Only negative, the bands are way too smart usually, and you cannot order extra links :(
How big is your wrist? Thx
Thanks for the news. ( another awesome T- shirt!)
The number 10's dial is almost 1-1 ripped off the Galshutte Original SeaQ of all things. Certainly a unique combination of parts.
The Tudor 73090 is a mini sub with Mercedes hands, that watch looks like the Rolex 5517 "milsub"
Ace show Jody, and a great watch company....
O, dear and talented Jody, you were so authentic once. Now you have become contrived and commercialized. Is there a way back?
I thought Gary now has the San Martin advertising channel? 🤔 Never mind, nice watches 👍👍👍
Some great watches Jody, and an even better shirt!
I've had like 5 San Martins and all of them had QC issues, I wonder if I'm extremely unlucky or there is something else going on
How do you lock in sale prices as you keep saying??
Jody! Great vid. My basket is full! Just FYI you have the wrong watch in the clip @ 10:25. Oh the shame! 😅👍🏻
PS- I thought Erebus made the best dive watches under $300?? ☺️
I think we now know who makes Erebus watches, this has become the San Martin official channel since it was launched!
I love the PP Nautilus in Tiffany but $300 (sale price) punches into the Swiss territory. I think a PRX would be a better choice.
Regarding watch number 7:
I feel the need to point out that Sinn does make a Titanium case/bronze bezel watch.
Of course, there's quite the price difference, and it's not the same kind of bronze.
The Sinn model number is T50 GBDR if anyone is interested in seeing it.

Fully sick Max Rockastandski shirt
Still got my San Martin 62 MAS green dial bronze case. People notice it.
5:20 I’m very surprised you didn’t make any reference or comparison to the Benrus Type II for this one…

Nice one Jody!
Still wonder what you mean by LOCK IN THE SALE PRICE ?
Cucumber GMT 😮
Would you by chance be open to adding RUclips chapter markers to these sorts of videos? I think that could really add a lot of value.
If I was SM i would definately go down the Grand Seiko hand painted/ screen paper dials where the biggest affect on price is labour cost/skilled artisan numbers .... which is potentially China's biggest advantage.A $500-$750 GS style dial and hands?
Baltany makes a bronze and titanium watch similar to the "Panerai" San Martin. So, two watches that are very similar from two different brands 🤔.
