I did indeed enjoy it. Although after a good 40 years of doing nail we do improvise don't we, lol.... But i do agree that our newer ones need to be well informed of what is good, bad and well done. Thank you for your videos wich I enjoy very much cause you my dear are a very good teacher and artist. Stay blessed and keep them coming... ;-)
I have never found anyone online as good as you for demonstrating how to do nails, and regarding any nail situation at that. You are awesome and your camera person is great as well on getting all the angles so we can see what you are doing and up close! I have learned so much from you. Yes, I am a subscriber and when I think I have seen it all I learn something new from YOU. Thank you so much! Love You!
I'm so happy you did this video because I was just looking at my nails thinking I needed to get the side walls repaired! Now I have the knowledge of what I'm asking from my nail tech! Thanks
Mary O'Keefe i hated it! omg. every muscle in my body just tensed right up. i dont notice it when it matches the movement on screen but when it doesn't... SO MUCH like anxiety or something. i don't know what it was. it was terrible.
Another wonderful video!! Reinforcing the basics - structure, structure, structure. +Naio Nails, Kirsty, I was wondering if you could do an in-depth video on how to correct balance issues when sculpting a nail. I don't have the artists eye that you have, so on occasion I can't quite figure out the proper correction to make a perfectly balanced gel nail. Thanks in advance! You are mesmerizing to watch and such a hoot!! :D
HI I was wondering if you had any advice on oddly shaped nails my Aunt had her finger slammed in a door when she was little and now her nail is miss shaped .I'm having trouble with both forms and tips ? Any ideas would be awesome !
I had a nail break that was so weird in shape and just how it was broken that I had to use tin foil from the kitchen and rig up a shape, that fit my odd shaped break. I had my friend hold the tin foil 'rigged' form and I quickly laid down the acrylic onto it,so that it would stay in place without him having to hold it there. Maybe you could try that? It actually worked and my nail was able to grow with the acrylic overlay. Hope that helps :)
I can't explain how excites in an gmfornthis week! I'm getting my products I idmrdered. Most likely. N can't wait to work with it. And get more colors month by month cuz I'm cheap lol. Love your videos. I always wondered if I was doing right by just fixing my sides up.
I hope this isnt offensive... but youre like the f-kking Chef Gordon Ramsey of nails. The way you speak about them like they are the most important thing in your life. How interesting you make a repair job sound, the time and care you take to make sure you get a nice finished product. I dont even do nails (although Im interested in doing my own and saving my hundreds a month) but Im so thankful to come across your channel. Even if I never do my own, I have a better understanding of what to expect from my expensive ass nail artists. perfection!
Hi Kirsty! Although I sometimes get lifting near the cuticle, I mostly get separation, I guess, at the tip. How do you prevent that? It's happened with acrylic, gel, acry-gel, gel polish. Can you help, or do a tutorial? Thank you!
Could you maybe do a video on using Builder Gel to fix something like this? s Sometimes Clients have asked for Gel instead of Acrylic for something lile this.
tks, Does you have an example oh high iponiquio nail full set and then a filling? I know its hard to find a custumer like this (I have 2), but probably with a maniki?
Can you put acrylic over the natural nail just to strengthen it? As an overlay/strengthener? As my nail are so weak and peel and crack at the corners as soon as I get a slight bit of free edge, but I thought acrylic would be more damaging as I have to file the nail plate down?
simple- just cut the form to fit.. I don't know why I never thought about that... that just solved so many complications for us TY TY ... (duh hits self)
Yes,it is. I have done this with both acrylic and gel, but I prefer the acrylic. The builder gel didn't seem to be as tough for what I do and how rough I can sometimes be on my nails (cleaning my house with harsh chemicals, dog grooming, gardening, etc.)
I've found that gel (and I suppose acrylic as well) helps the nail to grow in the proper direction besides adding strength. My nails are longer than ever before in my 57 years of being. They always curl over my finger tips, split at a certain point on the sides like clockwork, and separate into layers when they reach a certain length. Since I've been building my nails using gel and tips, my nails have grown much straighter, stronger, and have stopped breaking in various places. I now need only a gel overlay to keep them from breaking at work. The only disadvantage I can find in all of this is that my typing speed and accuracy have gone to the wolves! :-D
My sidewalls are naturally garbage. I have strong, hard nails, but the sidewalls are flimsy and set at an angle, so they always split off (often into the skin, which is painful). So I keep the sidewalls filed down so there's nothing to split. I use a round nail shape. Works really well for me.
I try & try & try .... and I don't think I'll ever be able to do my non-dominant hand ✋!!!!! Have any real good tips or is there a video specific for that? I looked and can't seem to find one from YOU, that's what I what to learn from....YOUR TEACHINGS AND TECHNIQUES AND KNOWLEDGE!!!!
It just takes practice, and where you can move the hand you're working on as apposed to the nome dominant hand that you're using... I.e when filing move your dominant hand as apposed to the hand holding the file, kinda work your nails against the file if that makes sense, the more you practice the easier it gets
can you do a video on shaping natural nails. I have a very strong c curve on my natural nails and am having a hard time shaping them coffin. or really any shape the corners always break off on the sides of the c curve.
I have a high hypendicium(I know, spelling😕) and I was at a chop shop salon before I knew what that even was, and the "Nail Tech" cut it! 😲😵😳😨😣😭 I was like, "ouch" and this lady has some nerve, she said, "Next time you tell, you tell. that way I no cut!" WHAT!!? IT'S HER JOB TO LOOK OUT FOR THAT! I didn't even know what a hypendicium was at the time! How on earth was I to tell her before hand? It grew back funny, and hurt for weeks. I don't think she even had a license to do nails.
Hi! Why don't you use the drill instead of the paper file? Do u have to file all ten nails with the file? It can make your fingers tired. And one more thing is the clients don't want to do acrylic far a part from the cuticles. How can I explain to them?
I have completely natural nails (it’s been more than 20 years since I had tips or anything else on my nails), but I’m having this problem occur on a couple of my nails - and I don’t know why! They just seem to be extremely soft at the sides, such that they essentially disappear when I file them - which means I end up with tiny scooped out areas on the sides. Can anyone help me, please? I really wish she had discussed possible causes of this problem and what other solutions exist for those who don’t have fake nails.
I love when Kirsty shows how to deal with common nails problems. It's so helpful. Thanks Kirsty.

Can you do a version of this for hard gel nail adjustments please? (Apologies if you have already and I haven't found it) x
I'm liking these natural nail ones, you have now answered a question that I had, thank you Kirsty :)

is it the same method for gel ?!
I would think so.

What kind of acrylic powder did you used? On your description box it has three but I noticed you used one.
muy bonito! 😘

Hi, we have a video showing this here :D ruclips.net/video/ZMLH9twDDJs/видео.html

I wish I would've thought/known about this before I cut down my nails 😭
I try to do that
you are soooooo cutee person! ;*
Can we see what the rest of the crew looks like lol
Would you just repair the damaged one like this, or do the whole hand?
?
you know your nail tech sucked when your sidewalls regularly looked like that (a bit softer maybe but still the resemblance was uncanny...)
Why cant i buy in holland😭😭😭
