I enjoy this channe so much! I've learned so much from your posts! Keep up the great content! Greetings from Hollywood California.
Victorinox Alox Farmer deserves inclusion. OK, so it's not new and it doesn't have the newest bells & whistles. But, it's a super-useful, top-quality, urban "mini-multi-tool" at a very good price. My favourite urban EDC knife.
I have a bench made Osborne emissary first production. It's a legit af knife. We can't all be lucky enough to grab a first production. It was only 176$ new they sell for 225 now (first production)
For Cold Steel, the Talon 2 and Thompson voyager, serrated, shall reign among my favorites of all time. The Spartan is probably my 3rd in terms of Cold Steel. Viper's Boris Manasherov Magà is an all time favorite, and he produced my favorite Bokers, both karambits, the Toro, and Ocelot. Neither for sale in the US, and Toro was discontinued. The Magà is a larger, non karambit version of the Toro, sheer brilliance. The Viper Italo in G10 is also brilliant, and a fat slab of excellent M390.at around $100. Both light, serious EDC pieces. Kershaw's Bareknuckle is my favorite Kershaw, love my 20CV. Otherwise, the D2 CQCs and Knockout are excellent. The Link in 20CV is a champ, and I do love the Bler, mine is CPM-M4 DLC however. The subframe lock, butter action and 3.5" blade, with an excellent, sleek, smart shape of the blade gives the ribbon to the Bareknuckle. Bless SOG for bringing back XHP, and in a major way. Spyderco's dynamic and constant expansion in terms of blade steel options is a spirit I wish we'd see a lot more of with other brands
Good video Id make mention to all the companies to go to t8 instead of strippy t6 and throw a few replacement screws in as they are overseas and near impossible to replace domestically for a given knife.
I have the Kershaw Knockout, and I do quite like it, but I will check out the Bareknuckle. I think the Knockout might be a tiny bit big for my EDC needs.
Hey David, another great video thank you! I have a quickly noob question. How do you clean your knives. Got me a sick Benchmade from your site and I don’t want to mess with the micarta handles. Thanks in advance!
I really like the Spyderco Shaman blade shape a little better than the traditional Spyderco blade shape. Love the great videos you put out, keep them coming.
To me, Shaman is the most un-Spyderco knife, along with their "ethnic" series - as it does not have the distal taper that is otherwise oh-so-rare in knives!! What most users may not even notice but what makes both PM's lineup (i.e. Military/PM2/PM3) & all of Delica/Endela lineup and even Manix2- is their unique blade geometry that is more sophisticated than almost any other knife out there, as the blade is not a simple flat bar with a simple high-flat grind, but is triangular in plan (from above), i.e. the blade sides are actually not parallel to each other! And then, they did Shaman with a much simpler, cheaper to make, and thicker flat bar of a blade and the grind that did not go all way up - and, lo behold, a plenty of clueless (sorry) peeps fell for it! (kinda like useless recent PM2 Tanto for BHQ, which was pure marketing brilliance...) In my eyes, Shaman is a rare misstep on Spyderco's part. And, I know the perfect next step for all the Shaman lovers out there - the Italian Lionsteel with their drivel overthick blade geometries - almost same as Shaman, but even thicker, and "more"... 'thick'... Cheers!
I wish Cold Steel would bring back their ultra lock. Still one of my favorite knives is the Recon 1 with a tanto half serrated blade. Hard to find one now.
Would definately change some but it is your show so you get to pick what you like. CJRB would have been the LG Feldspar, Civivi would have been Shredder, Governor, Ortis there is another but can't think of it off-hand. There were others but you get my point.
DCA, one of the best knife videos I've seen. Thanks. Question: can you make a video re straight blades versus serrated blades? For example, at work, I had to cut a lot of burlap. I used a serrated blade but one of my co workers used a straight edge. Or, maybe a combo blade like the Spyderco or Benchmade models have. What type of blade shape (edge) is best for certain jobs or cuts? Thank you.
I carry that Gerber 06 Auto Tanto all the time. That knife can take a beating and is a thrill to deploy! People jump when I flip that puppy out... just the reaction I want from them! Fits my average sized hands perfectly.
Great Vid!! but.... No Case? No Ontario? No Protech????????? I don't know man, you're slippin' lol Otherwise pretty cool overall. P.S. you are right about the bareknuckle, exceptional knife for the loot. Carries very well in the pocket also, which matters to me.
@@ChrisWolf75 DCA normally does keep it under a half hour. Most of his vids run about 22-23 minutes. Something like this one tho'?? Just a suggestion on my part
It would be nice if there was a episode 2 that takes a look at more brands such as sherade, kabar, leatherman, victory knox ect. In my opinion that most iconic knife from cold steel would be the espada, especially the xl. When released it made waves in the knife community. Also as far as fixed blades go cold steel’s iconic tanto design.
Bought the Civivi Pintail and it’s just about perfect, and I’m amazed at the sub $100 price for the quality you get. But after one day of pocket carry the tan micarta scales are scuffed and the finish on the edges of the scales is missing!? But I’ll dye them so it’s all good, but I’ve never seen micarta do that before. Also snagged the CJRB Ria and it’s a perfect model for office carry, with cool scales.
I agree that you are hands down the best knife presenter that is making videos on youtube at this time. It was stiff competition with Zach from BHQ but without him those videos do not draw my attention anymore. The Dozier, while a good knife, is not the most impressive tool Kabar has to offer. I would have chosen one of their fixed blade offerings in the BK- lineup.

Para 3 in my favorite spyderco but that’s just preference.. Great picks
Dude, the CRKT CEO can't be beat!! As far as an everyday pocket knife goes, it's absolute perfection.
Good video
Id make mention to all the companies to go to t8 instead of strippy t6 and throw a few replacement screws in as they are overseas and near impossible to replace domestically for a given knife.
Spyderco: Delica in K390 steel. Lightweight for every day carry.
The S.O.G. Seal XR Flipper is their best made folder hands down ! It's also the only 💯% made in the 🇺🇸folder they have if I'm not mistaken.
I'm a bit bias because it's my current edc favorite, but I was a tad disappointed that the leek wasn't picked for kershaw.
I think we have a series idea!
Part two or fixed blades next?
I'd say the maxamet manix 2 lw for Spyderco. It covers all the bases, ergonomic, light, slicy, crazy steel.
Does anyone know of a substitute deep carry clip for the Dozier?
For the ultimate deep carry, just remove the pocket clip entirely.
This guy is such a bro I want to buy all these knives from him. Such a good dude with some great selections
The gemini is the most amazing knife I've ever owned.
Incredibly helpful video, thanks!
Would definately change some but it is your show so you get to pick what you like. CJRB would have been the LG Feldspar, Civivi would have been Shredder, Governor, Ortis there is another but can't think of it off-hand. There were others but you get my point.
My favorite Hogue is the Doug Ritter Mini
For crkt I like the flat out and the overland both great knifes
DCA, one of the best knife videos I've seen. Thanks.
Question: can you make a video re straight blades versus serrated blades? For example, at work, I had to cut a lot of burlap. I used a serrated blade but one of my co workers used a straight edge. Or, maybe a combo blade like the Spyderco or Benchmade models have. What type of blade shape (edge) is best for certain jobs or cuts? Thank you.
To me the benchmade bailout with the m4 steel is my favorite
Excellent video! I wish someone did this for all products!
I carry that Gerber 06 Auto Tanto all the time. That knife can take a beating and is a thrill to deploy! People jump when I flip that puppy out... just the reaction I want from them! Fits my average sized hands perfectly.
Love that knife
Great Vid!! but.... No Case? No Ontario? No Protech?????????
I don't know man, you're slippin' lol
Otherwise pretty cool overall. P.S. you are right about the bareknuckle, exceptional knife for the loot. Carries very well in the pocket also, which matters to me.
I think they wanted to keep the video to under half an hour🤷♂️
@@ChrisWolf75 DCA normally does keep it under a half hour. Most of his vids run about 22-23 minutes. Something like this one tho'??
Just a suggestion on my part
It would be nice if there was a episode 2 that takes a look at more brands such as sherade, kabar, leatherman, victory knox ect.
In my opinion that most iconic knife from cold steel would be the espada, especially the xl. When released it made waves in the knife community. Also as far as fixed blades go cold steel’s iconic tanto design.
So very, very US oriented this channel ! I realise that this is a US firm but a lot of us come from countries where we have knife laws !
Why do you guys never bring up Twosun knives?
Bought the Civivi Pintail and it’s just about perfect, and I’m amazed at the sub $100 price for the quality you get. But after one day of pocket carry the tan micarta scales are scuffed and the finish on the edges of the scales is missing!? But I’ll dye them so it’s all good, but I’ve never seen micarta do that before. Also snagged the CJRB Ria and it’s a perfect model for office carry, with cool scales.
can you please do the same video for fixed blades!!!
civivi pintail reminds me a little bit of the spyderco tenacious. didnt know they made something like that in s35vn
The AD10 can be had for $130!! Great price... about to order one now!!
