Thank you for all the great content knifecentre and David. I’ve been stuck in the hospital lately and listening to David talk knives is one of the best ways to try and relax. Really appreciate the way you guys do your videos, so good to hear a calm happy voice talking.
David I am not sure if the chapters feature is new to your great videos but I really appreciate it as often I scroll forward first to a knife that catches my eye then watch your whole post. Thanks for very watchable commentary, you are the best!
I just got my Viper Turn yesterday... all I can say is WOW! It feels amazing in my hand. Definitely my favorite knife now. I’m thinking of getting the ram horn model too; I have the walnut. Ialso love the Ontario Rat 2.
I got to say, that little 'Peanut' is a joy to behold; takes me right back to when I was a child. Always liked the Emerson knives, the 'CQC' line has always been outright tough and impressive.
Agreed, and r2 in d2 is r2d2 best value for a more pocket friendly version. Also, plenty of great offerings from Kershaw. Wish they were at least Taiwan made. Chinese made makes me cringe.

I would go with a ruike p801 or other chinese knife in this price range I have a RAT 1, bought it years ago when there was nothing else in this price point (except a spyderco tenacious), and it is a great knife don't get me wrong But I think you can have more value for your money with other brands
David, you are the best👍🏾 I could listen to you all day! Very consistent, highly knowledgeable and instructive, by all means the best knife reviews I've seen. Been watching and subscribed for the last 4 months, and will continue to support.
I've been in love with the LionSTEEL ROK since the day it released. Haven't pulled the trigger on buying one yet but I know it will someday be in my pocket. Awesome video David and Knife Center. Keep up the great work you guys.
Great video DCA! You made some great picks. I'm liking what the Italian makers are doing especially that Viper. It's so nice looking with the handle you chose.
I really enjoy these type of videos. Also you can bring in guests and they give their input on their favorite knife from each brand. Maybe that would be a cool video.
I liked the MKM Flame. I now have a few knives from Italy. Also, I liked the Rat from Taiwan. I appreciate your offers from free-world countries: America, Europe and Taiwan. I like both of them, for different reasons. The gentlemanly Flame with M390 steel is a beauty that would be perfect clipped into any suit jacket, vest or topcoat. The Ontario Rat with a workhorse D2 blade is a folder suited to many outdoor tasks. Its modest price makes it a great knife to give young people. Thank you for showing us these great knives.
Hey David, I am new to collecting knifes. I really enjoy your videos. You are a tremendous asset and you present your products well. Thanks bro. Jimmy.
I was wondering why I enjoy this knife channel more than others, and it is certainly the content, but mostly is the voice and super clean pronunciation of Mr. David Anderson. He is to the knife world, what David Attenborough is for animal & conservation videos, just in an American accent. Very enjoyable to listen to (Despite the huge, extreme bias to American-made brands). Thanks for sharing
I bought the ROK recently. It's very nice. High quality throughout. Yet, the detent is a bit too strong. Drop shut action is more of Slam Dunk affair for me!
All these in my opinion are great picks. I couldn't agree more about the 0562, small beast of a knife. I'd love to own a Synergy 2, even could do without the Damasteel personally. Love the videos DCA, keep pushing the envelope in knife content.
As far as Viper, the Magá is easily one of the greatest designs, period. Secondly, the M390 G10 Italo, around $100, another brilliant powerhouse. Both excellent EDC or defensive, Magá may be one of the best defensive folders, period. And denim Micarta or G10, PVD or stonewashed don't affect price. Both pocket deploy, but in their own way, and aside from the benefit, the Magà's blade recession is extremely brilliant, crowned, and is a huge part of its versatility and ergonomic genius. These are the Vipers you need above all
My favorite from my collection used to be the ZT 0562 for a couple years. That is, until I bought the Bestech Ascot. The action on this knife is superb! At least it is for me. In fact, I'm now waiting on my next Bestech - the Irida. I just hope it's as good!
Wait wait..what's the new Sebeza graphic called on the handle? It's probably an African tribal design I guess. I like it. And I wish Microtech would reissue the Daytonas again. That carbon fiber inlayed Socom reminds me of them. Nice innovative clip, adjustable liner lock and flipper design on the Lionsteel.
Great picks David! But next time i suggest you to pick another victorinox model. I love the cadet but certainly isn’t the best knife of victorinox considering the tools you can currently have on news models wich are those you can’t have on a regular knife, such as the tweezers and the pen.
I’ve really been struggling about what to buy for my next knife. Not struggling anymore, there are 5 knives that I’m going to buy-when I save the money of course. Some of those knives are pretty pricey. Also, I don’t know if they’ll be in stock when I get the money. It definitely helped with my decision making. Thank you.
You didn’t mention it, but that WE Psynergy 2 Damasteel with shredded CF inlays is about $625 street price. Actually didn’t confirm that on Knifecenter as the server is giving errors, but see that on a couple of other sites...
I love the design of the RAT 1 blade - thin stock, FFG (full flat grind), nice edge angle and edge itself, belly - but I'm put off by the weight. That doesn't eliminate it from my collection, but it impacts how often I carry it. Also I'd like to see robust G10 for the handle scales, if only on a special edition or sprint run (with D2, natch). G10 adds rigidity while I feel the current scales only add a comfortable surface to grip. My number 1 favorite aspect of the RAT 1 and 2 is that everyone I've received has been sharp straight from the factory. Can't say that about the Kabar Dozier lately.
i liked this series keep it going. and since its kinda subjective what the best knife is u can always do another round. u can also do best knife of the year for that brand.
The website is pretty good, good selection and prices are competitive. The advanced search function I find could use some improvement though. Like when you try to filter by brand or country of origin, you can only choose one at a time. I would like to do things like maybe only exclude China from the search or something, so allowing you to check box multiple ones would be nice. Also would be nice to search by pivot type if you want a ball bearing type or not, etc. And other features like a flipper or a combo blade... I've been looking on the site for a while, might buy something if something really catches my eye. Thanks for the videos, very informative.
For Victorinox, why the Pioneer/Modell 1961 Ausführung 1994, and not the Trekker/Soldatenmesser 08/Bundeswehr Soldatenmesser GAK? Just picked one of those up, and I'm absolutely loving it.
Good video David. A few corrections on Chris Reeve. The 31 is in the process of transitioning from S35vn to S45vn and the sheepsfoot style blade is called the insingo blade. Inkosi is a different model of CRK. Lastly, Michael Walker and Chris Reeve each designed a framelock independent of each other near the same time. Michael's knife was actually made first but Chris was the one who really popularized the lock with the RIL.
Tim Reeve made a video on the crk facebook group once stating the above but that neither Chris nor Michael really gave a s#$% who received credit for it
I am interested why we don't see a Hinderer here. Would be cool to talk about the XM-18 and how they changed/improved the knife with every version and added features etc. IMO a grea concept of knife making. Just like CRK
Boy, lots of good knives out there. I live in rancher country, and I think just about everyone carries a case trapper on their belt, and has a victorinox classic on their key chain. And having a microtechnology without an otf...
Questions for Thomas: how long on average does it take to edit a segment into its final form? And is DCA good for single useable takes or does he need more direction? Looks like one of those “method” actors to me.
Iv had my ontario rat for almost 6 years now and iv done some questionable things with it and its still going, just needs a sharpening which im too lazy to do🤣 but i got a spyderco endura on the way to replace it as my EDC
Excellent and "to the point" review as always, David! Just wondering if I missed mention of anything from Buck Knives, i.e., their classic 110 folder. Thanks!
My Archaeo doesnt open like that. It only ever opens part way. I can only get it to open all the way if I do a massive wrist flick at the same time. How do I fix this?
I really, really like the Victorinox ALOX models. But im really, really missing the tweezers on these models. Hmm, what about a Knife Centre excusive model with tweezers?
I'm just getting into the EDC scene but, why are there no WESN knives? I know they only have the few but, is it a not respected company or any particular reason?
Hey David, I’m looking for a more tactical knife that could still be used for small daily applications. Right now I have a Kershaw CQC-6 with the Emerson wave and like it but I was looking at the Spyderco matriarch2 and putting the ring on the end. A buddy has one but doesn’t seem as smooth opening as mine. Is there an upgrade it for smoothness or another you would recommend?
When you mention Army knife the Swiss army knife being able to utilize the wire stripper and screwdriver in the 90 degree angle on the eight blocks model, well I'm pretty sure I've never handled a single Swiss army knife which that particular tool didn't do that? am I wrong? I don't think I've ever handled an ALOX version yet I knew that it could do that from experience.... anyways as usual the rest of your video is definitely well-informed I love watching your stuff and shopping
I use to have a nice knife collection, and I used them all. Nothing too expensive. I think the most expensive one I owned was $180. But my house got broken into, now I only have one knife, and it rattles. I can't afford those knives anymore, and I can't even get some of the ones I had anyways now. Buck 101 fixed, case spiderweb /200 whittler, dpx hest fixed.. I loved that thing☺️, my blue bm grizzly ridge... Those are no more😑 Now I watch these, and kinda get sad😂🤷♂️ It's weird.. it's like I had something stripped away from me mentally. I'm not happy as I was anymore.
Looking for something not automatic with around a 3.5" blade, a flipper tab, and combo tanto blade. Would like to try a ball bearing pivot as well since none of my knives now have ball bearings. Have some Benchmades which open super nice, but want to try ball bearing... Anyone got any recommendations?

The Walnut is my favorite, a bit steep for my budget
David is legit a national treasure. Though my wallet disagrees 😁
I got to say, that little 'Peanut' is a joy to behold; takes me right back to when I was a child.
Always liked the Emerson knives, the 'CQC' line has always been outright tough and impressive.
I have carried a Peanut my whole life, my grandfather gave me my first. He has carried him his whole life. It is ubiquitous for a jack knife.
The peanut is cool but the shrade pioneer is my latest they took a traditional lock back and made a flipper .
Best knife channel around!!! Regret not buying my Rockstead from y’all!! But I’m returning the one I got and will be buying one from kc
A old friend of mine cars carries the peanut and had been for quite a while. He sits and whittles with it all the time. Nice little knife.
A peanut must be used :)
I just have to say, Trevor and Janie on the customer service team are fantastic. Great job!
Yes they are, and essential parts of our team! I'll make sure they see this. -DCA

This is just like a knife shopping moment. I get to see great stuff that's available. For budget friendly the Rat 1 is THE knife.

Classic red victorinox knives also have the half stop on the cap lifter!!!!!
I've been in love with the LionSTEEL ROK since the day it released. Haven't pulled the trigger on buying one yet but I know it will someday be in my pocket. Awesome video David and Knife Center. Keep up the great work you guys.
Same here. Definitely a must have knife.
Hey have you guys got it yet. I've been thinking about it for the past year. Not a fan of lionsteel. But a damn cool knife and been deff wanting it
Great video DCA! You made some great picks. I'm liking what the Italian makers are doing especially that Viper. It's so nice looking with the handle you chose.
I really enjoy these type of videos.

I honestly want that reate for the comb now
No controversy here, all great picks!
Love my Chris Reeve, ProTech, & ZT. Like the look of that LionSteel Roc and the Microtech.

Wow DCA, that was an excellent video! Thanks
Can't wait to see what the best Nordsmith knife is
I love the Turn. But not the ball bearing part. Is there any other knife or knives extremely similar to it? That blade shape is beautiful
WOW that LION STEEL is awesome!
Lion steel Rok is best among them. Definitely On list of next purchase. Nice Vid 😎👍
That Microtech looks like the old MOD (Masters of Defense) knife sold through Blackhawk back in the day

awesome looking lineup I really like the zt 0562cf
I think with Emerson, I would have gone with the CQC-7B. I know, no Wave, but it just a great all-around knife.
I love knife videos in general but these are great.
As usual Dave great video 😊

The 110 folder made the list in the part 1 video he put out prior to this video.
Could you recommend some edc folder, with grip like griptilian, but with full flat, drop point blade? Great channel! Greetings from Poland 🇵🇱.
RATs are unbeatable budget pieces. I have both. One may prefer another, but very few people actually dislikes both. Ontario did extremely right.
The Ontario Rat 1 is my favorite folder of all time
My Archaeo doesnt open like that. It only ever opens part way. I can only get it to open all the way if I do a massive wrist flick at the same time. How do I fix this?

I see what you did there, Malibu made a splash. Nice
Cold steel and Swiss army knife I like too.
Does anyone know of any accessories/parts for the kershaw leek? I’d love to be able to essentially build my own.
I prefer the Farmer with the saw
Only one episode for the best of all brands of fixed knives? Only one?! You must be kidding me...
I would have to go with the TR3 for Protech
Viper Turn is beautiful.
I'm just getting into the EDC scene but, why are there no WESN knives? I know they only have the few but, is it a not respected company or any particular reason?

when are new microtech socom elites with manual actions dropping? i've had my eyes on that for a long time.
You won't regret buying the Socom Elite. It's worth every penny. Microtech also putting numbers on the blade so you can register the knife with them.
When you mention Army knife the Swiss army knife being able to utilize the wire stripper and screwdriver in the 90 degree angle on the eight blocks model, well I'm pretty sure I've never handled a single Swiss army knife which that particular tool didn't do that? am I wrong? The ZT 804cf would be at the top of the ZT list if it were still available...
How many of you went to the website for the Socom Elite manual opening plain edge just to find it is not in stock?
My grail EDC is that zt Rick Hinderer.
