i hadn't listened to this band in years and woke up wanting to see some of their live stuff w/ this line up... absolutely amazing edge of the seat listening.... they're just channeling from another dimension. beautiful!
I told my friend about Death Grips, my friend told me about The Bad Plus. I'm not a massive jazzhead but this is excellent. Cheers Damien!! (Savage!!! ;)
same @$$holes who would cringe at the thought of a border wall ...first thing they do is fence off and create a border. And that Cheney pinata reference...these guys must be genius if they are that creative to bash a likeness of the former VP. Impressive. not really
Awesome, but jazz instrumentalists saying 'this song is about…' always makes me laugh. The songs are plenty good by themselves without having to put made up stories with them.
also, the suggestion that instrumental music can't communicate concrete ideas or stories? you think it's really entirely made up? "alabama" by john coltrane is instrumental but that song is about some serious concrete ideas/emotions/stories
Wow. What a gorgeous setting. Unfortunately Trump-mania, or Trump-lash is drowning out all the beautiful things and places that America has to offer. My wife and I would love to travel there again some day.
These guys play aggressively, and I LOVE it!! They have something to say, and they're determined to make sure you hear it!
I can appreciate the drummers style, very unique. Great musicians all around!

I met Dave King in a dream, he told me i dont need to come see him for drum lessions. i think Dream King is wrong.
The Bad Plus and Medeski, Martin, & Wood are my current favorite trios right now. I just can't get enough of either group.
King = God
Clapton is God ✌🏽
Billy Martin is God
Physical Cities is a masterpiece man
Blows me away every time.
This is beyond any other live performance in terms of technical skill. My mind is completely blown.
@Rob Petitpas Yes! GoGo Penguin is very similar in style and also great!
My all time favorite
And that's how you get the gig
Playing with deer antlers 100% get the gig
+AquaAnim and don't forget to never acknowledge your mistakes.

im never sure if these guys have no idea what theyre doing or they know exactly what theyre doing. and i love it
I lived in North London at that time close to Wembley, i remember the fog, this music helped me a lot to overcome a life in many shades of gray.
50 shades?
John Mullenax the fat cow stole my shades i dea.
mooooo
Dude Wimbledon is in South London
Louis Milburn dyslexia, i wanted to say Wembley.
i love how they need a disclaimer before they play.
those rides sound so damn good
I was lucky enough to see them a few years ago. Incredible show.
LOVE THE TUNE "GIANT"!!!!
I love this band!

Lets hear a Get Got cover by The Bad Plus hahah
Their music really takes me places.
I love this video; it really shows these guys working from inside themselves.
guys this is so beautiful !
Fantastic and without formal jazz concepts.
Listened to David K say they'd worked together for 10 yrs before they recorded; now that's getting together.
it not jazz ?! i don't know about that , very amazing musicians , thank you jazz on MV to sharing this beautiful concert.
Great
Imagine being the act that follows them
coolest band
The Bad Plus at Newport Jazz Festival 2006

Working those instruments over big time. 👌
I've always wanted to be in this type of group.
brilliant
Losing weight has reverse-aged Dave King. He went from 50 in this video, to like 36 in Rational Funk. Nicely done.
it hasn't reversed your emotional intelligence though
subschool5 - how do we reverse your needless snarkiness over a harmless and factual observation?
the first piece is like a drunken spider running all over the instruments- and i kinda like it
They remind me of the Muppet band. Always seeming to have the greatest time playing.
fat king rules
ありがとう😺
que belleza.
That left ride is drier than a popcorn fart
such a meat band!
What's the fence for? To keep out the stage jumpers? Fuck this "jazz fest" crap.
same @$$holes who would cringe at the thought of a border wall ...first thing they do is fence off and create a border.

was the first song Fly me to the Moon as heard by Picasso?
base accuracy over 9000
i love you so bad plus beer. i wasted my live with fucking speed metal.
21:50 great Giant...
What's the track list to this?
I wish I had the independence as a drummer that Ethan has on the piano....
qué buen jazz.
My friend's got a girlfriend and he hates that... Was what I was expecting at the beginning haha
Is there a Radiohead cover in there. track 5 or 6?
+poozrfroope How to disappear completely?

Making you laugh was the point....it was a joke
