      I don't think basslines swing really...I think drummers do all the work to establish the sense of swing.

    This is jazz history... A quarter of a century later and these are the heaviest of the jazz heavies. This is a band collegiate jazz programs should be teaching about near the end of the their jazz history sequence. They and others comprise the generation that revived young interest in jazz

    Last piece is called « the promise » and is a Coltrane reference. This music is so sooooo good. I heard them in those days and I’m sad I didn’t realize how great it was and they were.

    I'm sure people on this concert were aware they were listening to incredible musicians, but they weren't aware that it's history in the making, that these guys would become the best of the best.
    Love how Christian McBride who is always the most suited up is the only one going casual here.

    Ho visto e ascoltato Joshua Redman la 1° volta suonare "Yeah Man" in duetto con Craig Handy, restando impressionato dallo swing, tecnica strumentale e creatività interpretativa. Grazie a RUclips ho scoperto un eccezionale sax tenore, ascoltato il suo jazz quasi sempre accompagnato da una formidabile sezione ritmica

    That was an effing date. Everyone at a very high technical level. But what is really THE bonus is the astounding degree of maturity of these musicians. One may single out one of them to praise and one second later he/she will have to face the truth: everyone of them is as good as anyone of them. And how they play well tpgether! Mamma mia!

      In my opinion, even though every good sax player must have heard some Dexter Gordon's work, at some point I realized that Joshua's style is more influenced by Sonny Rollins's work. Now Joshua is as great as them.
