One of my favorite Beethoven symhony movements... Sounds so deep, so touching... I dont have words to describe the feelings that your interpretation awakes... For young people as you classic music have a enormous future. Simply thanks.
The challenge of playing orchestral music on a guitar is to capture a musical idea played by scores of instruments and distill it into six strings. Your arrangements serve as a master class for how that's done.
This is a wonderful arrangement you did there. I just bought it and I will start working on it. It is also very appreciated to have your version recorded as reference
I've been regularly visiting this video for over a year now and I still absolutely love this arrangement. Making just a small amount of time every now and then for a piece of music that moves you, has a disproportionately positive effect on your mental wellbeing. Music is a medium that can bring us closer to enlightenment that any other.
Impressed! Very fine playing and interpretation for one of my very favorite pieces of music ever. Bravo! Beethoven once said, the guitar is like an mini orchestra in itself.
I really, really love this! Maybe one day I'll have enough skill to play your arrangement myself, but until then I just enjoy listening to it :) you make Beethoven's symphony sound like it was written for the guitar!
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!! I'm able to learn my favourite piece ever on my instrument thanks to you. And you made it so affordable too! I'm eternally greatful
Fantastic arrangement, looking forward to work on it, I just sent you the donation. Also, your site is very well structured. Keep going with your splendid work!
Thank you… bought the arrangement and you have a fan for life. Did you arrange this yourself? This is a spectacular, even historic level of play. I’m in awe. Thank you.
this is the most resonant instrument i've ever heard. On almost every note you can hear layers of overtones. I thought you were just plucking constant harmonics!!
Rolf, this transcript and its interpretation are impressive. It seems that it was written for guitar. I would love to hear you perform the cavatina of the op 130 quartet, I think you would make a great transcription.
Berlioz a dit " La guitare est un petit orchestre" Wagner a répondu "Non c'est l'orchestre qui est une grande guitare". Chopin, a dit :"Quoi de plus beau que la guitare, peut être 2 guitares". Superbe!
It is time to repent and believe in Jesus Christ. There is no salvation in any other name than Jesus. He died as a sacrifice in our place, so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned; whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
What do you think about the 4th repeat of the maintheme to play it by simple fortissimo chords??? Even flamenco-stile would be nice! In fact: The Anapaest-Rhythm has a lot of spanish „Zarabanda“ feeling. But there is no need to cut this worldhit because your guitar is untruly running out of possbilities. Anyway: Great work! Bravo!!!
If you mean to play the 4th repeat in the beginning of the piece with chords I disagree. Simply because the really 'Fortissimo' is not in the beginning of the piece but at 5:46. And if I choose to play chords at that place I am not able to play the other voices in it. I understand what you are trying to say, but unfortunately it is not possible to play without losing some of the material. Thanks for you suggest anyway! Appreciate it!
Rolf van Meurs Hmmm... To change an Orchestra-Piece into an instrument does not mean, to copy the work like a clone, with all the voices. That 1.) is not possible because of the sound. 2.) is not the intention, because the solo-Instrument wants to keep its own charming character. You must see it like Bach with his „Musikalisches Opfer“ (Musical Sacrifice): He changed the fugues into playable fingerings, leaving the correctness of the theory, otherwise they would die, because no one could play or would like to hear that. You love guitar. SO GO FOR IT! (By the way: Chords would be the highlight to illuminate this movement...) Don’t be so shy!!! By the way 2nd: Beethoven himself said: „Guitar is a magic instrument. Because it can reflect a whole orchestra!“
You are outstandly clever! Howevet, i think the guitar transcription does not work . it's too hard for the guitar to hold the ghostly counterpoint in the second part and the timbric differences with the precedent section in Major. However, it Is noticeable how you exploit the contrast between anapestic rythm and the triplets.

This is such a good arrangement. Your voicings are so clear and your colors and sense of sustain reflect what the orchestration is. Bravo
Thanks for your nice comment!
Never expected it to be possible for Beethoven's symphony to sound so good on the guitar. it's incredibly difficult to do it this well. Great job!
Thats right, thanks!
