  • TRAILS CLOSE TO HOME. We all have trails close to home that we enjoy and are our favorites. I decided to make a series with that title. Show casing the trails that I consider to be some of the great ones locally here in Colorado and Wyoming. This horse back adventure is Part #2 in and area close to Blanca Peak a 14000 ft peak in southern Colorado. The trails are in high mountain terrain with aspen grooves which I enjoy riding in a lot. We had found a pile of garbage high in the mountains a week before (part 1) and a forest ranger friend and I were going to clean it up and clear some trails whirl we were up there.
I hope to bring many more adventures on Trails Close to Home as time permits. If you have any ideas or trails that you enjoy send a commit to me below or email me at horsecamp27@gmail.com
Please comment and share your feedback with us. We'd love to hear from you.

thank you brother from an eastern flat lander who loves horses and mountains, I know exactly what you mean when you say "I need to be on the mountain" can definitely feel the presence of our maker up on that mountain, spent a year of my army life at Fort Carson, tried to spend every weekend in the mountains I get out every 5 years or so chasing those Merriam turkeys, that mule had quick reflexes

Me being an avid backpacker and hiker, I am always grateful for when people clear trails. It's kinda hard to pack a chainsaw on my back to do this type of clean up😊. So thanks you!

Spend a day on a horse to go up into some mountains to haul trash and clear trail? Hell yeah!

Thanks for the great video. I always loosen the breast collar for the boys to graze when I stop for lunch. It stretches or damages the breast collar and raw’s the horse. You gents stay safe.

I have a small brush-less battery powered chain saw like that too. They are the bees knees for camping, trail clearing, and building and clearing fence. Great video!

I've used an axe in designated wilderness. Not sure of the legalities of a battery saw in wilderness, but would sure be preferable to an axe.

@@jeffd1919 I have a friend who has used them in the Bob Marshall wilderness area out here in MT. There was no issues with him using it there, so maybe it is different for different wilderness areas?

Another dandy video. Us folks that have to use our own feet on those trails surely appreciate you guys with the saws clearing the deadfall. I’m jealous every time I watch one of your videos. 😁
