  • Print technician at Middlesex University, Tom Cert takes us through the fascinating process of lithography. This creative method developed in the late 18th century and was embraced by the likes of Toulouse-Lautrec, Daumier and, most recently, Henry Moore.
All the action takes place in the print rooms in the Grove Building at Middlesex University's Hendon campus.

I was also looking at the Edinburgh Printmakers video on the same topic, and they prefer to rub two stones together rather than the levigating tool, which they only use for larger stones. Apart from preparing two stones for the price of one, it seems to also help with ensuring the surfaces will be uniformly flat. Do you have reasons for preferring the levigator?
