for next time, early game, before you get troops to take out bandits, you can sneak in a single man and clear the camp if you time it right. wait until the duke sends his troops, the bandits will charge him when he gets close, leaving their camp, send your dude into their camp while they're engaged and claim your bounty.
Actually you can just form a militia and wait on the side line once the bandits form and start heading towards the enemy troops move to their camp. Once they break to enemy troops you can claim the gold and leave
@@meanmanturbo correct, but on hard mode more important to gain money to outfit your army and open trade routes. Once your army is outfitted then you take on bandits for influence
I think when you destroyed all the razed houses you could rebuild some of the buildings. Like the logging camp could be rebuilt? There was a hammer in the middle and i slowed it down and paused it and that says rebuild building.
@@StratPlays ahh thats sucks, I mean great its in the game. Not sure what you could have done about the other area though. That seems legit like a hard lock. Maybe force it to be destroyed by raiders?
I would love to see them add something like your men must camp when moving around the world map and after fighting for long periods. Making it more slow paced where it can take a few days to meet the enemy. Also turning fights into multiple day battles not just 1 fight and you win. Maybe you could fortify your camp making mini sieges giving you advantages when out numbered. Also later on if they are ever considering a DLC there could be a rulering baron or lord that you have to appease and win favor with via taxes or joining his army from end game threats that come from outside the map or even offensive wars/crusades where you can take spoils back home giving a economic reason to have an army.
I was much more efficient with this run ;) The last one was about 15 hours to play and edited down to around 7. This was like 7 hours to play and edited down to 3
Might sound silly but... Ever thought about rebuilding rattay and surroundings in manor lords? Spanning over province borders to have two manors? And level 2/3 housings within rattay? I cant help myself but i get rattay feelings when looking at the buildings
That's a great idea! I had thought about trying to copy some kind of medieval town, but Rattay would be PERFECT actually :D The only issue is the lack of mountains in Manor Lords, but I'm sure it could still be done to some degree of accuracy.
I'm maybe mildly surprised you didn't jump on the "Going Medieval" train. Although I have to admit there are things about terrain and combat that are extremely iffy. Like they set it up to play almost as a tower defense game as opposed to any realistic medieval combat sim. Still, building is fun. Managing your people is fun.
Are you intentionally not increasing the size of the work areas for the forester? Is there a reason to move the default size circle over just increasing the size?
This was back when I was still learning the game and didn't realize you could expand the size of the circle lol I think I figured that one out after 50 hours or so? Pretty bad
Not sure if this one is doable for me yet. I generally struggle to get my forces up in time, however the most recent run i did take a big gamble and sent 10 spearmen out to get some bandits. LUCKIEST battle ever. 16 bandits v 10 malitia. I got the impale and only lost one member vs they lost over half. Then all the bodies must have slid down the hill and out of my turff or something cause i never had to burry them. Took their loot and hired mercenaries for the remaining 2 camps. Got both though the 3rd camp the other guy was involved in the battle too. Right after though the AI started claiming despite only getting one shared fight - is there a bug or timer independent of the AI needing to do raids/ take out camps? I don't figure that is too repeatable so.... do you have any tips/ vids for growing your forces fast? Also struggling with the merchant achievement- pretty sure i met the requirements already unless you absolutely have to open a trader for it to pop. Bread veg and eggs only as food on a rich soil tile.
They can claim territory as quickly as they fain influence - they seem to get a drip monthly AND a big boost each bandit or raider killed. So getting the camps and raiders before they do will slow them down a lot. My best advice for growing your militia quickly is to get to 75% approval or higher and constantly build housing because You'll be getting 2 families per month. It takes 3.75 years to go from 0 pop to enough to fill 5 militia to the max, so get to 75% approval ASAP.
My recording software (OBS) crashed recently and I didn't catch that it reset all of my settings :( I've got split audio channels and filters to help clean up the audio, but they weren't active for this run. I've corrected the issue since then, so the new stuff will be better.
yeah that's what I was thinking I have no idea how he managed to get enough eggs from a few extensions to be sold in the market and counted as another reliable food source. Maybe he is playing in regular difficulty?? xd
I still don't get, why you don't get a second ochsen right at the start. It doubles your building speed and therefore is faaar superior to the second chicken coop.
I've started to use that build a bit more frequently - it just depends if I need the extra gold to get my trade routes running quickly. I do prefer the extra ox early on though, good suggestion!
Thanks for watching! The well doesn't improve anything, but it does unlock the upgrading to burgage plot 2. I hope they make water more important in the future, because right now could do the whole campaign without putting one down, assuming you don't need the perks from upgrading your settlement.
If you create future skilled ie, brewer, cobbler, blacksmith lots with the larger lot allowing to expand to 2 families. Once tier 2 you get double the production
I wonder when the raiders burn the town down could you use the town plot again and get resources again and 5 more families. Could you settle a area twice or if you have 16k could you settle as much as you want? If you could itd be an easy exploit to get 30 fsmilies fast and build the army
The extra workshops are great. But having extra family makes it less expensive to upgrade and get more gold per house upgrades as it counts the number of families. Gold from family is rather useless unless your going for mercenary achievements or are worried. About the king's tax. But more efficient to make items to sell. Also some workshop upgrades would turn the family in artisans losing more workers at the same time but good for very large production capacity. So only good end game not early game. Additional thing to check. The housing needs I don't know if it gets used faster per family. Otherwise you would be having more populations for the same need. You can make more poor family for population but that would come back to the tax and house needs.
That's what happens in the learning phase lol I'm getting there! I've discovered a ton of new things while setting up test towns and running experiments - I'll do one more playthrough once I'm done with the guide to show what it SHOULD look like :)
