Review: 2025 Toyota Camry - Hybrid For All!
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 5 июн 2024
- The 2025 Toyota Camry is now hybrid-only, but surprisingly, it's LESS EXPENSIVE than the 2024 Camry Hybrid while providing more power, more standard features and more tech than ever. Plus, you can get AWD on every Camry in the lineup. All this combined with excellent fuel economy, great driving dynamics and competitive pricing really sets up the 2025 Camry to continue to be the midsize sedan leader. What do you think about the 2025 Toyota Camry? Big thanks to Toyota for bringing me out to San Diego and providing this opportunity.

I look forward to teaching my toddler how to drive this car in 15 years.
Most people won’t be driving cars in 15 years, but that is a nice sentiment.
@@BabkiKamoraPeople said that in 2004. Let’s revisit in 2039 (if RUclips still exist and the internet isn’t unaffordable) and see if either of us were right lol
@@hyesunchoi2773very well! 😂
Be prepared tp pay fo the battery
@@rickjohansson4257Why is that weak argument always the go-to rebuttal to hybrids? Toyota has proven for decades that they make reliable batteries, plus non-hybrid internal combustion engines break and need to be fully replaced too. More people just need to admit they’re scared to feel emasculated by a fuel-efficient car and overcompensate with lifted trucks. No need to bring other innovations down.
The Camry is an impressive car, but I think the state of the industry makes it even more impressive. Their refusal to give up on sedans makes we want to support them with my $$$.
hyundai is much bettter. hands down
@@tocreatee3585😂😂😂
It’s not that Toyota doesn’t want to give up on sedans, if people are still buying Toyota sedans like Camry and Corolla, then why would Toyota give up on them? Consumers are the reason why camry still lives, if people still buy 300 thousands every year, then there is no reason to give up.
@@tocreatee3585Definitely not.
Toyota has taken over this segment, along with smaller BOF vehicles. Eventually they will take over with Crossovers as well.
The way the 2025 Camry models are optioned and priced, they're set to sell tons. Now, it's just up to the dealerships to avoid messing it up with greedy markups and useless add-ons.
I mean they’re still planning to sell hundreds of thousands of these so hopefully there won’t be the supply issues you see with the other Toyotas.
Yes it’s annoying I don’t need so many add ons. I can get those later don’t have money for that anyway 😜
Yea maybe in USA. In Europe this Camry is Like 20k more expensive than in USA.
I got the rustproofing and scotch guard for 2900
@@keeperzero😂
What's crazy is how much the Camry has advanced while being in the shadows of the SUV craze. This thing looks incredible and I'm glad they're bringing the Prius design language to their other cars (never thought I'd say that).
I really love what they did with this car. I think they did it just right. It's not too drastic or overly styled like some redesigns, it still looks like a Camry just brought into the modern age. People don't give midsize cars enough credit. You get luxury, space, durability, technology, good ride, good style, good fuel economy, and agile handling rolled into one.
one thing i feel most people dont take about is the total range on a tank. i think its important to note when a car like this can go 500+ miles on one fill up. super important!
I could probably get closer to 600
Totally agree.
True
California looks so beautiful
Better than the Camry 😅
The Democrats have ruined that state.
If it weren’t for the ridiculous politics, California would be an amazing place to live.
It certainly was, my friend, it certainly was…
(Born and raised… 1962-2004. Miss the place every single day)
Great review Matt!
Coming from a honda guy I must say this car really puts the foot on the neck of the accord. The 25 camry hybrid has alot of torque. I'm impressed.
Honestly the SE is all I need. Plus the black grill looks better to me than the color coated grill on the XSE.
Only thing that sucks the power driver seat isn’t standard on the SE/LE anymore.
Nice review Matt! That interior looks like the Red Wedding happened inside, yuk. Glad they include a spare tire!
Toyota has upped the ante in the sedan market for sure. This time, the Toyota engineering people have nailed it, blowing away Hondas offerings. I'm glad. I like the S.E. Camry, but love that XSE! Great video and information.
The price is the problem
Sweet review Matt, glad to see you on more media drives again huge W
Thanks! Yep still doing lots!
Matt, Your reviews are phenomenal!
Thank you, I'm glad you like them!
Great review, thanks!
Thanks for watching!
I’m just glad that there’s still market for Sedans.
Great review!
Thanks!
This is a great looking car. Bullet proof. One great thing about the SE is it’s a smoking deal for around 32K.
I may be alone in this but I think the matte black grille and accents are sooooooo much better looking than the paint matching
Matt is always bringing us great reviews. That being said I absolutely think this new Camry is perfect for grandparents everywhere. 😅
Now keep the front I like it The interior definitely needed a whole new design now they should have hit the last generations back maybe add some Lexus love to it . But also kept the 4 cylinder and the six-cylinder but maybe like a slight power boost but also introduced a hybrid version which would be this generation then they could be eating good
Nice job Matt & I would buy this hybrid sedan.
I've always liked Camrys. I've had an XSE V6 and I have a TRD. As much as I'm impressed by this new one, I'm just not likely to be won over. If I had the i4 I could see this as an upgrade.
Dope car and review!
Thanks!
Reliable, beautiful design. What not to like it's a great Toyota
The excitement for a normal car 😂 I can’t wait until you get one for a week and go more in depth in comparison to the Accord
Nice review mat, glad they didnt go full ev but do idk how all having hybrid tho. Another thing I'm glad they didnt put a giant screen in the dash like other vehicles
That XSE Camry in red looks super sick
Much like a menstrual cycle?
If I didn't have a family to haul around I would pick one of these up and keep it forever.
Isn't that the point of the Camry? It's a family sedan. My parents had one when I was a kid.
@@05Forenza I could do it with two. I made it work with two with my old Jetta. Three? No way. Plus our rav4 gets fantastic mileage.
@@chrisrentfrow1400three is bit tight for sedan. Might need the grand Highlander with third row.
Also the XLE is the only trim to get rain sensing wipers
not even a package for them?
It has memory seats too
@@diavlaplays1963with premium + package, XLE gets memory seats, rain sensing wipers, and power folding mirrors, XSE can’t get these features even with premium + package, I don’t see the reason to get XSE, I am fine with 18 inch wheels on the XLE(better MPG), and I don’t need sport tune suspension. Also, XLE is cheaper.
@@blackwhirlwind1245 wow that’s crazy
It's the better trim this year imo. The xle has more features than the xse but just doesn't look as good which might be subjective.
I'm loving my new XSE... It's super clean and fun to drive. Trying to master hybrid fuel mileage💪
Toyota has pretty much crushed every other sedan with these new Camry's.
$38k v $50k for an XSE v Crown Limited (both with premium package). Is the Crown Worth $12,000 more than a Camry?
Excellent review 👍
Black grill looks better than painted one.
1:45 min - Smart. 💡 Hybrid is the way to go.👍🏾
Matt, how loud is the pedestrian alert system on the new carmy? I can't find any reviewers talking about it.
I’m not sure, we weren’t in areas with pedestrians.
I am actually curious about this for my commute. I want something that while practical isn’t regrettable to drive.
I think this the definition of Camry. A driving appliance.
Definitely worth a test drive!
I love hybrid cars & I definitely buy this sedan.
Toyota did a good job on the new camry
New sedans such as the Camry are the best all around value in new automobiles. Cheaper to buy, insure, fuel, and maintain than almost any new SUV, Truck, or Van on the market. Longevity is also top notch....if you dont get 200,000 miles out of one you aren't trying.
I love the new Camry but I still love my 2019 Se too , so I don’t know if I want to upgrade it yet 😅
How many miles is the battery in this car supposed to last and how much will it cost to replace?
Does XSE have heated steering wheel and seats?
It looks like a Prius, but if you look closely, it's different. I think it's a good design. However, the back seat is narrow. The 2.5-liter hybrid delivers powerful driving performance and seems to have good fuel economy.
Why would he go *uphill* on an acceleration test? Toyota is probably unhappy about that!
Wasn’t until now that I would consider a Toyota Camry that for many generations was known to be a “grandma “grandpa car.
but to get that Cockpit Red interior, you have to get a boring exterior color!
your only color option is Red, but Red on Red is not contrast... they should've at least offered Cockpit Red with the Reservoir Blue exterior
Cvt transmissions can be deceivingly quick. The torque comes on so smooth and there is no shifting to judge speed. It not uncommon to be driving way faster than anticipated.
Did you notice a big NVH difference between the LE and SE, vs XLE and XSE with the acoustic laminated side glass?
A difference wasn't readily apparent to me honestly.
What's with this camera facing the driver seat? You can't option to have it removed?
love this car! but for my needs imma get the corolla cross hybrid. thick sidewalls, bigger ground clearance. 45 MPG cant complain! only 28k!
Could just get 16" wheels. The base trim has 16's and it gets 50+MPG.
It's truly a shame that after just one generation, Toyota turned the Camry right back into a slow, boring appliance. They should've brought the V6 back or at the very least, give us an i4 turbo with 280-300hp option like Honda did last gen when they got rid of the V6. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll give us something like this with a new TRD or maybe GR model down the road. One can hope.
Considering most people aren't "enthusiasts" and just want something to get from A - B while saving as much on gas as possible, this will sell like hotcakes, but for people like myself, the Camry is officially dead. I'm just so thankful I found and bought a 2024 XSE V6 just in the nick of time last week before they're gone forever. Gonna drive this thing until I either die or the wheels fall off at this point with the way this industry is going. RIP V6 Camry (1988-2024)
I'm going to lose it if the 2025 Lexus IS models won't have a V6!
The days when a toyota camry was affordable 🔥
Damn this car looks so much better
Great review Matt and beautiful location to do a shoot.
Thanks!
How are the ventilated seats? Do they actually do much?
I’d say they’re average for the industry, cooled a little but didn’t get super cold. Not as cold as the Hyundai or Kia ones, but pretty close to Accord I’d say.
Sounds very noisy, was that your experience or is it maybe just the equipment? Thanks!
I don’t know why Toyota didn’t add the rear vents to the new Prius. This was a major reason why I wouldn’t get it as I live in south Florida. It’s nice it’s in the Camry on the base model.
Just wish the XLE included JBL’s it’s a joke that a $34k Camry with destination has the base speakers
Love the interior but I think the front end previous gen front end is much nicer!
It looks great in red. I love the new and improved interior. I dont like that its a CVT but I can live with that but I am sure dealerships will be marking these up. SMH
Sounds noisy inside, is it?
How's the JBL speaker system?
Didn’t have much time to test it yet but based on my recent experiences with these newest JBL systems it should be pretty good.
Pour one out for the 2GR-FE V6
i cant wait to see what the new camry looks like in 2038
How many gallons is the fuel tank?
13 gallons.
@@MattMaranMotoringwow... They made the tank smaller.... I'm guessing to make room for the rear motor and just used one tank for all models.
I love it but am confused on the engine. 225 HP in fwd, but when you get AWD they add a whole electric motor in the back for only 7 more hp and zero extra torque?
Toyota doesn’t provide combined torque figures for their full hybrids, but as far as hp yeah I’m not sure why the numerical gain on paper isn’t bigger, especially since it’s a noticeable difference in power from behind the wheel.
Toyota did a great job with this generation. AWD on all trims is a perfect touch. Kia and Hyundai have amazing designs but no AWD on their higher end models of the K5 and Sonata is a bummer.
I'm not worried about the cloth on the dash and doors. Our 3 children are adults and away. But I would never have purchased this car with small kids. I checked this car out today . You know what they say last day of the month last day of the quarter.
Does the headrest adjusts? Looks uncomfortable
I agree, I hate headrest that push forward against my head.
@@blackwhirlwind1245i passed on several cars due to this uncomfortable issue. It gives them an extra star or point ratings on the crash tests, and causes spinal alignment damage as you drive. Makes you nauseous too that forward push
@@doriangray2347 I switch my headrest around, and it’s much more comfortable, I heard that they design this in case of rear end accident, so that your spine won’t be damaged as bad, but I’ve been driving for 10+ years and never had a single rear end. I would rather make my head and neck much more comfortable for many years than that very tiny chance of rear end accident.
@@blackwhirlwind1245 wow. switching it is a new idea. lol. Yes, the chance of a larger motion damage from a rear end vs. absolutely causing arthritis and misaligned vertebrae. Keeping one's head in a bad position is super bad for your health overall. Mazda did this and i did not buy a previous generation 3 due to this issue.
lol @ higher insurance.....The Insurance companies will just raise the rates for the existing powertrains to compensate for the discontinued others.
Kind of regretting getting the Lexus is350 😢 this is decent
Do you know the answers to my questions about the 2025 Camry?
1. Does the 2025 Camry have steel knuckles or aluminum knuckles?
2. Approximately how many shop hours to replace new lithium ion battery in 2025 Camry under the seat? I’m hoping the new design requires less time to be removed to get the battery out.
3. Does the 2025 Camry have an electronically controlled variable oil pump? 4. Does the ECVT transmission in the 2025 Camry have a slush lubrication system or does it have a dry sump system like the 2024 Prius Prime?
5. Is the transmission in the 2025 Camry the PB12 transmission like in the 2024 Prius Prime which is lager than what is in the standard Prius?
6. Does the 2025 Camry have lug nuts with bolts or did you switch to bolts like on the 2024 Prius?
7. Does the 2025 Camry have a re-designed Two Piece timing chain cover like the 2024 Prius which was re-designed to eliminate the chances of leaks?
i'm going to hold out for the V6
You will be holding out for eternity.
I don't think it's coming back. The take rate was like 7%. The only new debut so far that still uses the V6 is the Lexus TX 550h + and even there it's hooked up to a plug-in hybrid setup.
Probably never coming back, if you really want performance, maybe wait for the hybrid max, which might come in the future.
Old folks are racing in their wheelchairs to a Toyota dealer today!!
Can you get an SE and XSE without the dual tone paint job, not everybody likes dual tone !!!
Yep, two tone is only available on XSE and it’s an extra cost option.
Imagine buying a Prius when this exists
Looks way better than the new accord.
😂😂😂😂
Could be your mic, but that car sounds LOUD with road noise.
Is the Prius faster than this thing?
Regular Prius has about 30 less horsepower.
@@MattMaranMotoringit's also 400 lbs lighter. So they'll probably be similar in acceleration.
The rear looks like a last gen accord
$60k Camry selllimg for a bargain $40k. It’s massive recipe for great success.
That's not a 60K Interior, sorry.
Savagegeese said it now drives better than the honda accord ...!! 💥💥
And some things are universal which means it looks much better than accord, better interior materials , better technology, quieter interior, significantly more powerful, way more efficient and so many more features 😈😈
The Camry is so much better looking than the Accord
This or Accord?
Nice! People make fun of the camry as a boring roll boat of a car but I don't think that has been the case since 2017. I drove a 2017 camry LE as a rental and I was very impressed by the handling as I think that was the year the TNGA suspension platform was introduced. I can only imagine how much better these new camry's handle and feel with the hybrid boost and sportier suspension. Unfortunately I think the new accord hybrid, as ugly as it is, edges this new camry overall. The new accord hybrid is more spacious with a better interior (imo) and faster with a 0-60 time of 6.6sec. It also handles really good.
Would have been cool to offer the manual turbo, but we can keep dreaming.
We need a phev sports car from toyota 🥲
It looks like they gave it a prius front end lol 😂 cool new tech, though. Way more advanced than our 2011 camry 😅
Looks better than Accord. It has Lexus vibe.
I’m Happy I bought my 2024 LE when I did. Not a fan that it’s only a hybrid now… and an only a CVT?? Gross!
The Camry has an eCVT , not regular CVT . i have a 2014 Accord with a CVT and it works great, i don't notice it when driving which means its doing its job
Damn my boyy matt been ageing
Fabric inlays in the dashboard and doors? Lmao.
I think almost everything on the new Camry looks pretty appealing, but I find the 7hp eAWD system to be so off-putting it would eliminate this from my shopping list. Living in the suburbs of Buffalo NY it seems pretty wimpy to me as AWD systems go. I know it didn't test well on the Prius in winter tests. When competitors like the Legacy, Altima, and Sonata have real mechanical AWD systems I'd be looking to those over this for my particular wants.
This new Camry AWD has a MUCH stronger rear electric motor. I believe it’s 40hp. It will never be better than a Subaru AWD system, but I think this new Camry AWD will be just fine for snow/rain traction.
@@lennygarrison6836 if that's the case that's my mistake. With the HP difference between the FWD and AWD versions I just assumed it was the 7HP motor. I couldn't find any real information on it.
@@djsone3499after I responded to your post, I saw somewhere that said the rear electric motor is rated at a little over 50+ horsepower. So a little more powerful than I originally thought.
Beautiful and reliable car.
This Camry is very noisy wow. Didn't expect this. You can hear everything. Also the interior looks outdated compared to Buick Envision Envista and BMW. Toyota can do better.
I hate this is only available in a hybrid. Can’t even say I hate the future where cars are going… I hate the present of the automotive industry. Another three letter government agency killing a whole industry.
😃👍
I wish they didn’t go with the cvt
I agree, but I it’s the byproduct of a hybrid as standard.
It’s not a traditional “CVT.” It’s an eCVT which doesn’t have the annoying drone that a conventional CVT transmission has. Also, the long term reliability of the eCVT is much better than traditional CVT’s.
That touch screen theme does not fit that car design profile at all. It looks like a google page from a year 2014. Why not make it more sporty, more modern.
