It looks like a last minute change to the enemy AI compared to the press/creator version of the game has made them SUPER aggressive... I'd expect a hotfix pretty quickly along with at least a partial undo of the bowman nerf that was also 11th hour.
@@RangerDaveYes in couple of hours AI took 90% of the map, there is that chills AI settings i think its called "restrainet" where he took 2 provinces. Still AI is too competent for normal game, maybe it would be ok on hard...

Great guide! The game is soooo chill and fun. I might just stay away from the combat aspect of the game. A lot, I mean a lot of fixes and adjustments needs to be done to make it quite reasonable for starters.
Yep some tweaking is needed ASAP. The preview version of the game that creators/the press had their hands on was a little too easy but I do believe the pendulum swung too far the other way.
@@RangerDave There is also this one thing that I encountered when the AI challenged my camp. For some reason, the battle had to happen outside of my territory, and it was the 1st ever fight. So, I have 90 days to wait until the ai wins by default? So far, most of the 1st fights were inside my territory... so that was a surprise. Still an awesome game concept. Out of curiousity, will you be creating a "how to" video for managing a village in this game? Not with the raider or bandits from the other video, just from a "build mode only" type of playthrough? I find that to be the most fun in games like this
I have the 20 weapons but for some reason I cant create a militia... says 20/36 or smth. I only could select create spearman or smth and thats it. wont do anything.
You're doing it right! That 20/36 means you only had enough weapons/shields for 20 out of the 36 possible troops for that regiment. You can still muster those 20 men to fight, and as you buy or build more equipment the remaining 16 troops will automatically fall in and become available.
@@RangerDavewhy is my equipment limited to 20? I have 100 people and have a mine still with bloomers and blacksmith but only have 20 weapon stock what the fuck
After some years, no mercenary appears for me to hire, this is really hindering my conquest over other regions. Has anyone else gone through the same? Is it a bug or is there something I missed?
I was happily playing and couldnt get to small town so couldnt build manor. Have a few milita but dont know how to get them to fight the ai which has taken over the map extremely quickly and is burning down my village!!!!! I have played many city builders before but this is nuts.
Why have I never been attacked on my main land by more than a couple bandits ? They never even were able to burn anything. The 20 dudes the game give us always took care of them. Only time the ai has attacked me was when I had claimed land that I didn’t get the chance to build on yet and I chose to send my men to try and fight them off
I think you can have 4+ the manor expansion building+ 8 other manors for a total of 13 and then you can get quite a few mercenaries if you plan out your game properly.
The AI is just way too aggressive currently. I'm just now figuring out trade, artisans, etc... And by the end of the second year, the Baron has already claimed most of the board. Gets a bit ridiculous.
got to year 2 without knowing to make a workshop and i thought they only way to get military gear was to import it, made like 200 tools though 😂 guess i gotta restart

Bro i made the mistake of thinking that the four basic units i spent hours making ready were a good army to challenge yhe usual three unit armies the AI was spamming all game ; challenged the AI over the last province he was gobbling up; and it randomly showed up with 6 fully equipped units including a full retainers unit, with another 6 units army as backup om yhe way XD. I didnt wven show up to the battle field i was like "hey man its yours, I meant to say I do support your claim to everything the sun touches without even having yo build a single settlement" XD
Here from the perfect start guide. Early bandits attacking me! I hope I can reload ~30mins back and adjust to rush a few units to defend myself :) edit - i must have missed the "free militia" option ouch
Did you go for better deals on that village with over 12k wealth? Or should I stop using that and go for the deeper mines? Cuz I’ve never even got over 1k regional wealth. Even with that perk.
I can't create a 20 person militia. The button to create the militia says "20/36" and its red/unclickable. It wants me to have 36 men, weapons and shields or it won't let me create it.
The number on the militia can't be Changed. They are always 36 guys. The 20/36 is because you dont have enough equipment for the other 16. You can trade for it (need a trade route), or produce them in level 2 burgage plots blacksmith (1plank 1iron slab for spear) and turner's shop (2 planks for large shield). You do need to click the lvl2 plots to actually produce the right kind of weapon and shield for your unit.
If you hover over the 1/36 regiment, what resources are marked in red? Creating a working unit requires weapons and shields and spare population at minimum but that hover should show you what you're missing.
Question. I had the ai attack me and I moved my small army into my manor camp behind the walls. The enemy just walked right through the walls and destroyed my army. Is the manor just for looks and not a strategic advantage??
@@RangerDave okay, thanks for the info. Another quick question. How does the ai Take over the whole map before I can even produce weapon to claim land or fight bandits? Ai seems to have infinite $ and influence to just conquer everything.
@@stephenn504So the ai has about a year before they start claiming territories with the normal setting. This process can be made faster or slower depending on the game setting, so as slow as never or as fast as from the start of a new game etc. Also, if the ai wins any battles with bandits they will get influence, on top of whatever trickle they seem to have. If you can take out the bandit camps yourself, the ai won't be taking regions quickly at all! On top of that, the camps give tons of $ treasury income, way more than taxes can achieve in the short term/early game.

Go to city planner when you click on the manor and you have to build the retinue
my favorite part is how you never actually say how to build an army, all you say repeatedly is "build your first army" lololol
I built a grea5 city sonfar 70 people and i cant figure out how to make weapons
Upgrade house to lvl 2
Also, once you get your army up and armed, you can become an arms dealer and sell excess weapons and armor.

You can add more towers onto your manor and get more retinu than 24. Every tower you add allows you to add 12 more.
That’s not intended and was fixed for release, now you can only place one as you have probably seen for yourself
