Hi, If I may be allowed to 'Praise' you on a beautifully prepared, presented and thought out design. Totally agree that one should not make sweeping design decisions on the spur of the moment, but should live with things to evaluate and see the bigger picture first. My days of doing such as you are doing as a way of life are far gone, but it is so nice to follow such as your life and enjoy the wonderful scenery on our doorstep. Best wishes to you both . Jim
Hello, Boat Time had you on a list of Narrow Boaters to check out. First vlog I watched was the tour of your boat, it is very nice inside, thank you for the tour!! Happy and Safe Cruising to you both. 👋💛 I will watch more you are a lovely couple, I am sure to enjoy the vlogs.
@@MakingNewMemories Wes & Amy had a list on one of there vlogs saying to check out these other narrow boat vloggers. That is how I found your channel they gave you a shout out on their list. So yes I have the right channel. 💛👋 I also subscribed to your channel!

Glad it was helpful to you. If you need any help or information, drop us a message here, or find us on social media (links in the Description) Always happy to help if we can.
What a lovely boat and I think the paintwork is just right not spoiling the traditional look. I love the hatch and door paintings and the rest is, as others have said, cozy. See you soon. Take care and stay safe.
Hi guys ......I have been following you for ages ....and have loved watching you ......got me through being stuck indoors....I have only just figured out how to comment 🙃🙃🤪🤪......so stay safe and take care .. Ps love your narrow boat...xxx. ..
Love your kitchen tiles, burgundy is my fave colour, I have a lot of that in my place. Love the boat, love how you have kept the wood trim & painted walls, I am not a big fan of boats that have all the wood still, much prefer yours. Brilliant.
Hi guys Thank you for the tour of your lovely home nice and bright homely and lived in .and tidy Jan ! Happy and chatty as always make our day Love Gerald and Mary
Think I’m going to steal you herb rack idea, I’d been wondering where to mount an out of the way rack for ages. I like the covers on the port hole windows , and am jealous of your log burner
Lovely boat. Thanks for your video about sharing. Very convinsing. I have bought a share in a boat. Now I will run into you, unnless I learn to manouver. See you.
Very nice boat. Looks like home and very comfortable. Love all your pictures and odds and ins. Is that a telephone on the wall? Enjoy you videos just found you. Thanks for sharing. Susan
Hi Sharon and thank you for following us and watching. 👍❤ Yes, that is indeed a telephone although it's only a two-way intercom phone from the engine room to the saloon.
Had us worried there Jan thought you had gained a extra foot or two hey that radios smart who did that 😏 finanly see your lovely boat even tho seeing it in the first tour this is a nice update and very much your boat now ❤️ very nice take care and keep smiling enjoy every minute and we can't wait to see you out in the canal
Out takes are our Fav part! Love seeing the humor and spontaneous reactions you guys have. Thanks for making our Weekend just a little better your followers from New Brunswick Canada.
Always fun nosing around another persons home, lovely job brightening up the whole place, looks like a fantastic home :) Love the night time lighting 💡
Loved the tour of your Narrowboat (floating home). It looks like it has been well maintained and y’all have done a wonderful job of giving it love and making it home. I love your channel and I get a kick out of watching you both. I have only recently subscribed and have been watching as many episodes as I can find. Much love and best wishes from Michigan USA
Hi tony and Jan , really enjoyed the tour of your boat. I’m so jealous would love to do what you guys are doing . Good luck to both of you enjoy your cruising, your lovely people good luck . Best wishes glyn x
Thank you Ev. The giraffe was a present from our eldest daughter when she went to Spain. Lovely and bright isn't it? We love it. Brightens up any room.
Love your vlogs.....!! Thanks for sharing your canal life, we have just bought a boat and are going to meet her tomorrow!! Our boat has 8 portholes, I do like those sliding doors over them!!! Loved the boat tour. Lynette xx
The boat looks very homey. The word "homely" in the US is quite opposite of what it means in the UK. Your new home looks very warm and inviting and you've done well in decorating it and hanging picture. Since I have an interior design degree, I must say that I cringe when I see people hanging picture, but you did quite well. Best to you both, Jane, Philadelphia
We can see why you bought the boat. It’s lovely. How long is it ? We are hoping to buy a narrowboat in the next few years and looking at lots of different layouts , lengths etc. Xx
Hi there, new boater here from Calcutt marina, Grand Union. How did you prep the walls to take the paint? Did you have to fully sand them all down, if so did you have to clear the whole boat before you did it, or do you have a magic way of painting them. Love your vlogs.
Hi Lorraine. Lightly sanded them and filled any holes from previous blinds fittings etc. 3 coats of undercoat and 2 of top coat. Didn't need to clear the boat but did spend time masking the edges to ensure clean lines.
Can I please ask why you kept the cassette toilet rather than compost? We currently have cassette but are considering compost as planning on constantly cruising from next year
Unless you are committed to properly "composting" your solids and not dumping it in a bin (which you won't be able to do from later this year due to CRT stopping the throwing of solids into their waste bins) then you will need space on your boat to store your No.2's until they have properly composted. Alternatively, you can put them into a composting facility - if you can find any alongside or near the towpath. Remember that the bag you put the waste into also has be able to be composted. As elsan points are readily available, and as we didn't want the engine room full of composting material, we decided that the cassette option would be our best choice.
Hi and thanks for the comment. Yes, we have met Matt and Ali from Boating Beyond. Spent a lovely few days with them recently. And we used to regularly see James from The Boat That James Built as he was in the wharf when we are in the marina at North Kilworth and waved as Narrowboat Will passed us at Foxton (which you can see on his latest vlog)
