NOTIFICATION SQUAD: We took so long with this (explained why in the intro) that it made sense in the end, to release it on the cusp of Cyclethon 3 which kicks off on Monday 1st April! We'll be streaming on Connor's Twitch for 14 days non-stop from Yamaguchi to Tokyo (if all goes well) and for this next one, we aim to get the cyclethon video out a lot quicker!
Enjoy the many highs and lows of our epic Kyushu adventure, and keep an eye out for both the stream and also a Wacky Weekend episode out here tomorrow!!
We're spoiling you this week.
And of course donate to the Immune Deficiency Foundation! primaryimmune.org/
Ok👍👍👍
excited for it!
here we go again 🗿
Let Natsuki have an E Bike. He will stay longer if he has the E-bike and fun
I look forward to the new one coming up!! I may not be able to watch much on twitch due to our timezone differences but will try, the last ones i watched entirely from VOD's.
No way Chris finally released his cyclathon video
only for Connor to release the teaser for the third lmao
48 hours before number 3! a great way to build hype for the third one. :)
@@najimidayo No problem in that, that means we can start preparing to save up for donating while getting hyped
Reminds me of 2005
@@najimidayo You say that as if they did that completely independently and the whole process wasn't a planned collaboration
It’s finally here! And congrats on 3 million subscribers
Thank you!!🙏
@@AbroadinJapancongratulations. 👍🏻
This video was EXCELLENT! I felt like I was watching a road trip episode of The Grand Tour. The crew did a phenomenal job with the cinematography, sound, editing etc. And what I loved most was the raw on-camera personalities. I loved the unscripted struggles and side quests. The pain and joy looked genuine. It really drew me in. I also enjoy your scripted videos but this one felt like I was living vicariously through you - an instant classic! In the future, you will look back at the glory days and perhaps show this to your grandchildren (minus CDawg twerking)
😂 we’ll have a director’s cut for these imaginary grandchildren
Thanks for the kind words man!
Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😅❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
As a German I must say I'm impressed how well he did the Haribo jingle.
Als ein Deutscher dachte uch, dass der Trip 555 Dollar gekostet hat.
@@sbeyer17 Jawohl
We need the Paul Ballard cut
Impressive...very nice....let's see Paul Ballard's cut.
British Psycho.
RELEASE THE CUT
Hearing Chris absolutely nail the German Haribo commercial jingle shocked me. A man full of surprises for sure!
My Son is 10 and has a rare genetic blood disorder called CTTP that requires him to get plasma transfusions every other week since he was 6 and will continue for his entire life. Thank you for your hard work and for asking people to donate plasma, they truly save lives!
I love your prolog and how you shared it, because I think so many people suffer from the same problem. They do something real awesome, but because of some reasons they don't realise they did it. Bad memories overshadow the cool things and suddenly everything is shit.
Well said 👍🏼
It seems to be hard for normal people to pat themselves on the back.
Unfortunately bad emotions outweigh the positive in our minds and hearts. It's something I feel people have to actively work on preventing by not being so hard on themselves and others, not getting so hung up on things, but also allowing ourselves to enjoy even the little things.
When it comes to feeling proud of your work that took a long time to finish there's another issue where it's just hard to see, in retrospect, the amount of work and struggle that went into it. It always feels like we could have done more.
Love how Pete always ups the energy
Ian is such a sweetheart, he really looks after you both. Big love to Ian
You ripping those pants off was definitely a highlight of this video.
The last time I was this early, Chris was still complaining about a hawk outside his window
Your pronunciation of the Haribo slogan was perfect
gERMAN?
Almost! He even swallowd the second „e“ in „Erwachsene“!! My hero!!!
@@Solakeasa he didnt tho :3
As a german, that haribo jingle was quite the surprise haha 15:20
A man of many talents
You certainly earned the German Stamp of approval @@AbroadinJapan
Love how Chris goes into father mode when Connor is feeling down to make him feel better ❤
Chris' cyclethon is lowkey the most effective tourism video for Kyushu region
As it happens, when you were on this ride, I was also on Kyushu. I was really hoping I might catch a glimpse of your trip... but for almost the entire duration of your cycle, I was quarantined in a hotel room in Kagoshima, sick to my gills XD
That said, really appreciated this cycle stream at the time.
that's sounds sad and i can relate. I'm also really prone to sickness when travelling
Might have something to do with having gills.
...
...I'll see myself out now.
in a way you were able to see kyushu through their cameras, at least!!
Gills !?
You're a fish!!?
@@ParthaRUclips09 Of course not, that would be ridiculous. They are the _Creature from the Black Lagoon!_
One of my fave videos you’ve made - big well done guys 🎉
🙏
"I love you guys!"
"Gotta go."
God, American Pete is always a treat.
I didn't know you felt that way Chris because on the Cyclethon you seemed so, I don't know, very supportive of Connor and full of spirit. I'm glad that you have recovered and I can't wait for the next Cyclethon.
Great warm up episode for Cyclethon 3. Getting hyped!
Cyclethon 3 cycling across the pacific ocean to hawaii
Chris mate iv watched you for about 4 years now sorry it's late in your RUclips career but every video you have ever made is visually amazing and Hella entertaining i wait to see your videos weekly I love Japan and I miss the place it's beautiful I wish I could go back!
Many thanks for sticking around all these years and the kind words! Much appreciated 🙏
@@AbroadinJapan also been here for years and you're at 3 million because we ALL love everything you put out! Try not to be so hard on yourself man- we can all be our toughest critic but hopefully the support we show gives you confidence in yourself and your content!
Anything you put out will always be an instant click for me and literally millions of us, no matter if you feel it's not your best effort! 😁
I am so happy you put this documentary out Chris! I am 58 years old, work in the service industry and care for my 85 year old mom who has early stage dementia. This was a great treat for mom and I to take a break and enjoy the challenge and beautiful and hilarious journey! I never have the time to watch the Connor streams. This was brilliant! Cheers M8🥰
The Cyclethon was really enjoyable to watch on stream, like you mentioned after Paul sent you the cut. It was really just day 4 which was rough to watch.
Really looking forward to the third Cyclethon and hopefully raise at least $666,666 (though more is always better).
3 milli subs and an hour long special
What a week for AiJ 🙌🔥
Chris just knowing the Haribo jingle by heart and reciting it almost perfectly made me unsure if this is the worst timeline or the best
I can hear the genuine care behind the banter as you encourage each other through this. Pete’s classic style outro made me emotional and nostalgic while I laughed. Beautiful video, again. As artists we are down on our own creations but trust that your audience absolutely loves what you are doing!
Great job on the edit Paul!
I actually wondered when this video was even gonna come out but I am happy it did now before the next big thing❤️ Proud of you Both❤️
This was a great video. Im glad you came around and released it. Not every episode is sunshine and rainbows!!
Was a blast watching this event live last year, and will be sure to do so again this Monday!
Best of luck to you all you gents, whether you're putting in work on the bikes or in the van!
42:24 That edit of Pete is fkn amazing. Amazing vid guys, thanks for what you all do :)
Waaaiiiit wait wait wait - is Haribo Goldbären acutally called that in other languages as well???
And Chris out of nowhere quoting that commercial, basically sounding just short of real German, absolutely did it for me xD
it was real German. He said it flawlessly.
@@sebastiangruenfeld141 There was an accent, but it was close to perfect, yes.
But pray tell, are you by any chance a Landsmann?
It is very heartwarming to hear your raw opinion (being tired and not caring) when you first completed the cyclethon.
It has its up's and down's and I am glad you were able to see the best of one of your hardests times for you.
I never watch videos this long , watched the full thing loved it
I'm glad you got this done. I'm going to take my time watching this on my day off as I'm planning to be biking many parts of Honshu, as well as the Shinimani Kaido, the Yumeshima Kaido, throughout multiple vacations in the next few years, so vids like this are my food right now. Once again, I'm extremely glad you finished this. Thank you!
*Shimanami Kaido
This is like an epic length wacky weekend. Fantastic Cinematography, Storytelling and Scenery. Well done Chris, Ian, Paul, Pete and of cause Connor.
It's weird to relive this while the Cyclethon 3 is happening. I'll be waiting for the next one.
Big props to you guys for the tough journey. Great edit and great support from ian and Pete as well!! 👏👏
Paul killed the edit! So glad to see the final post and looking forward to tuning in to the next cyclethon tomorrow!
major props to whoever rotoscoped pete's dance at 42:25
After watching the closing scene of cyclethon 3 with Pete, Conner, Ian, you, and the fans. It felt soo satisfying compared to the other ones. Great job on raising 1 million and thanks for your dedication. That stream was without a doubt the most satisfying.
Hey Chris, that prologue was really great. Thanks for veing candid about your experiences. I think a lot of people can relate so i am glad you ended up putting this out regardless of how you felt! It's an inspiration
The pain sucks at the time but the memories always be looked back at fondly. Great views, great food and a great charitable goal! What an amazing journey Cyclethon 2 was.
I miss covid in some regards because I was biking 100 miles a day in the sun during the summer. My dad broke down one day and cried telling me my grandma had cancer. Never seen that man cry until then. I biked 112 miles in extreme downpour in 94°f temp as hard as I could and by the end of it, I felt peace and made a few friends who appreciated my sort of crazy. Keep cycling and do more of it.
🤧🤡
Where do you live?
i envy your ability to challenge such heights and come out stronger for it, wish you the best!
I cycle 3 to 4 times a week if weather is permitting. It was a great mental escape for me during COVID for sure.
@@georgemulford2910MN. The hills these guys had are insane compared to what I had with my daily. It's a good state for paved trails. WI has a lot of fun unmaintained mountain biking trails.
When American exuberance meets British reservations towards the end when Pete hugs them, priceless!
As it all settles in after a good while, you understand there was no downsides to it. Only good adventure and unforgettable memories that you have made along the way.
WE RAISED 1 MILLION DOLLAR THIS TIME!!
Nice idea to release it just before Part 3. Still love Pete's energy. Thank you again for suffering for a good cause you two did amazing!
Pete is so oddly on point with his bits. I remember him doing that on stream all those months ago - so fitting now. Well done everyone!
dang some of the shots are truly beautiful , connor cycling across a valley and connor cycling on a bridge ,very cinematic
Mountains and hills.. I remember when I cycled in Switzerland and there was continues rise in mountain area. It's good that you have Ian with you! Spirited Away on the bench was very nice. Good that Pete was there to raise spirits! Congrats for raising money for good cause!
This was a great watch! I'll be haunted by Connor twerking for days though 💀
What a fun video. Loved the adventure!
Thanks Chris.had a long day...this cheered me up
23:09 woah the waitress is on a wheelchair! never seen that before
awesome video man
Just finished watching this 3 mins before the 3rd Cyclethon begins. Such a great video and brought back the great memories of the 2nd one.
Chris you should be very proud of your achievements. You both done a spectacular job cycling. Not only are you filming and being entertaining during your trip, you're rising a lot of money for charities that need help. I wish you, Connor and your film crew the very best in the current cycling challenge. I honestly don't know how you both do it.
Chris is always so hard on himself. This is a spectacular video.
At first I looked at it and though 1 hour that's a lot I'll watch a few minutes now and the rest later some day else now I'm over halve way through and enjoying it tremendously
"You have a good mouth."- Chris Broad
Great attitude Chris! Very admirable what you and Connor did. Thanks for sharing
Outstanding guys!!! What an awesome achievement 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉watching this on my big screen with a pizza😁❤️❤️❤️❤️
good work Paul, he took footage of hell into the editing room and came out with a video with a great narrative.
Living in Japan for 28 years and I can cycle 8km to work every day and occasionally for an hour or two in the mountains. I find Japan to be scary and dangerous and seldom relaxing (lonely country roads or along the rivers in dedicated cycle paths are the exception) so I truly commend you for your courage and tenacity Chris & Co. I couldn’t manage a day let alone 10.
Truly well done gents 👏
"You have a... good mouth." You can hear Chris's realization as he says that.
what a joruney, I'm glad you ended up posting it
Looved the video! So glad you uploaded! Congrats💪!
Good job! Thanks for posting this it was so nice to see!
I’ve been waiting for this!
You inspired me to bike the Shimanami Kaido last summer! I'm gonna go back and do a longer route this winter! You're a legend Chris 🎉
This is better than most of your recent videos. It feels more real/organic. Not sure how much of it is good editing but being interesting while being less scripted makes it better.
loved the 1 hr version to watch all the route, great job guys 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Its a great video chris, dont be so hard on yourself. Also, japan is so beautiful to see from drone POV damnnn🙌🏻✨️
I am so proud of you and @CDawgVA for pushing through and completing the tour during some terrible conditions. I watched the entire tour on @CDawgVA's channel, and I saw the pain and suffering you two went through. You both were completely justified in stopping the tour at many points, but you two kept at it. Shoot, many pro tour cyclists would have quit, but not you two. You greatly exceeded your goal. I am excited to see what you will accomplish on your third cycling tour.
LOVE these longer videos!!! Thank you
congratulations!! you guys are doing a great thing and the video is really inspirational as always
Favourite Pete quote: "If its not, CDawgVirginia and The Laughable One."
I can't believe this almost wasn't shared.... 900km through treacherous terrain and highly adverse weather conditions, over half a mil raised for charity, friendship with Connor still in tact, Chris keeping up the morale in the vlogs despite feeling run over by a bus...well 👏 done 👏! What a memorable journey...
Loved this video. Nice editing!!!
Seeing Connor dealing with awful falls on day 4 was hard to watch on stream. You’re an amazing friend to comfort him without preventing him from carrying his own weight. Seeing Connor genuinely laugh to your magic Mike show after a brutal day is the beauty of friendship. Keep it up Chris.
Great editing!
I can't wait for the next cycle. Happy to see you finally released this. I did watch the entire stream when it happened and enjoyed it.
I watched all of Connors streams from this and enjoyed every minute of it - it's such fun to see so much of Japan up close and the two of you were entertaining all the way through.
Been looking forward to this on, Was more than worth waiting for. 😌👌🏻
Good luck to you & all involved on cyclethon 3!!!!
😊✌🏻
Thanks for uploading this one. I had been looking forward to all amazing camera shots. Beautifully edited and great to relive the struggle.
Amazing video thank you Chris for sharing. Keep it coming!!! 🎉
Yall are mad for this, big props. I just came back from a 15-day Kyushu trip going around the island similar to your bike route. What an amazing place the island of Kyushu is. I also biked a bit around Itoshima and Sakurajima. Yall make me want to bike longer routes. Cheers to your cycle 🍻
Ooh! This one's over an hour long! Can't wait to finally watch it - while also hoping that the upcoming cyclethon will be a walk in the park by comparison. Happy cycling, Chris (and Connor)!
Im glad you released this. it was for a good cause and I enjoyed it! Looking forward to the third one!!!
crazy to see 3 Million! been here since 1.2~ So happy to see you hit another milestone!
Man can't be happier for you, congratulations on the 3 million subscribers. Definetly deserved and excited to watch the cyclethon III!
Congratulations to both of you, and it was cool reliving all those moments again and can't wait for the next one.
I'm so glad you chose to share the video. It's really fantastic! Getting to see your journey, and the whole story just was super interesting. I'm super excited for the upcoming one, since i didn't get to watch the last one live. I did geek out when you showed the life size robot from Castle in the Sky, Laputa. That was one of my favorite films growing up.
OMG you did it again!
My favorite series of yours! Fabulous Chris!
Excellent video! Thanks for sharing even the bad bits, built a great story for the video and was so well put together. So glad you shared it! Well done on the cycle snd good luck for the next!
It was great despite the weather etc. glad to finally get the edited version and congrats on 3 millions subs!
Watching the channel since the beginning. Awesome to see where you've gone with it. Good stuff, man!
I've been waiting for this. I don't have time to watch streams so been looking forward to a nicely edited video from the cyclathon.
Thanks for sharing this, and honestly, looking forward to the third, but I appreciate the absolute endurance this takes and do not put yourselves through more than you can take
