I have been watching Dr. Ryan Osborne for a number of years and he is the very best this country has to offer. He has the Osborne Head and Neck Institute and will do surgeries at no cost for people like this because he knows how important the face is and how often insurances will call his work 'cosmetic' because they try to prevent the patient from having to look at the mirror and hating what they see for the rest of their lives. He has an amazing team of top-flight surgeons and they frequently go to the third world to donate their time, services and supplies to these places. If I ever need surgery to my face, I wouldn't want ANYONE else. You can find his channel here on RUclips.
My country's healthcare system is far from perfect, but a growth like that would have NEVER reached this size here, unless the patient actively refused to have it removed. It would have been dealt with, quickly and for free, at the very early stages of its growth.
@2okaycola I live in Massachusetts. I've had a great experience with US healthcare. But, like the doctor said, if you make too much to qualify for federal health insurance and cannot afford your work sponsored health plan, health care can be unaffordable. And very few tax payers in the US would want to pay additional taxes for universal healthcare. So unless something changes, there will always be those who slip through the cracks.

To anyone who may be wondering what it is like to have facial paralysis -- After having an Acoustic Neuroma (aka - Vestibular Schwannoma) removed many years back, I ended up with partial facial paralysis on my left side. Most of the left side of my face was unresponsive, and even my left eye could not close after the surgery (the tumor had been attached to the facial nerve and they had to scrape it off). Luckily for me, most of the function returned to my face and eye after a few weeks to months. However, a decade later, I still have uncontrolled micro-twitching in some areas of my face, my left eye will not weep (though it does self-lubricate, unlike the first couple of weeks after the surgery), and for some odd reason, I can no longer feel the tip of my tongue. Honestly, you need to sort out your healthcare system in the U.S.! In Germany, health insurance is mandatory. That keeps the prices down, because young and healthy people have to pay, too. And there are also some doctors who treat those that fall through the cracks, for instance, homeless people.

I am so happy that you mentioned making too much for medicaid but not making enough to be able to afford healthcare because that is such an under acknowledged reality of so many US citizens and the same thing applies for EBT/Cash Assistance where someone will make lets say .20 over the maximum amount to receive assistance so they lose their monthly EBT allowance which can be up to $400 a month. That .20 (even if its .20/hr) will never be enough to cover the $400 for food and then people will be stuck in this very messed up situation where they can't get assistance but also can't afford basic human rights/needs. Thats why I always get so frustrated when people who are financially comfortable complain about people "living off the government" saying that "they need to get a job and stop being lazy" but they don't understand that this is the best option for them because jobs don't pay enough to be able to afford food and work, even working overtime it still won't be enough to get all the basic needs. Also a lot of employers are very discriminating towards people who cannot afford to look 'presentable enough' to work a cash register. You need money to make money and thats just a fact. Hence why people suffering from poverty can't just get up and get a job. It's a full time job being poor so a lot of people just don't have the time to do what they need to do to get hired because they are spending every hour of their waking day trying to get what they need to survive. Sometimes people use substances because it is the only relief they get from the super f*cked up life they live and the only thing that in that moment is keeping them alive and keeping them from k*lling themselves. Also most of the time the person didn't just wake up one day and say "hey i'm going to ruin my life and start using H because f*ck it why not?!" A lot of the time it is prescribers who put people on medications then take them off of them suddenly with no support around withdrawals or lowering doses and education around getting off the medications safely. I broke my back at 13 and got put on a 3 month script of oxycontin and had no support around getting off of the script AT 13 YEARS OLD. Abuse and trauma (especially childhood) is a whole other thing too that can cause people to end up using. So, how about instead of blaming people who are struggling in poverty or dealing with really traumatizing addictions, we blame the system for failing people who have already spent their whole lives being failed by the people who were supposed to protect them. Okay, rant over. I am just really passionate about this stuff and wish more people saw past the surface of what is going on and were able to put aside their own discomfort with having to see people struggling so that they can see the immense discomfort that the people struggling are living with. But it IS great in the fact that I did not have to pay for my time in hospital, nor my treatments, nor the subsequent chemo and radiation therapy I underwent. I truly wish the whole world had coverage as good, or better, than we have here. No one deserves to live with a disease for any amount of time, nor such a discomfort as this. Most people who have medical needs like this fail to just go ask about low income options, I had a hernia, I made too much to qualify for Medicare, but not enough to afford insurance, paying out of pocket I was able to get my hernia repaired for 30% off the top bypassing insurance (yes it was that big a discount for them to not deal with an insurance company) but because of my income the hospital gave me a sliding scale and since I put a big up front payment they wrote off the rest as charity. Cost me 5 grand for what would have cost insurance about 60k
Here in the US low income people can get medicaid but yeah there are some that make too much for medicaid but too little to afford a private insurance, or they decline it to save money for other reasons. However, I think everyone should be able to receive help for life altering problems like the poor man in the video.
Such a case going untreated for over 10 years is only a thing in the US when it comes to thr western world. In no European country would someone like him not have any treatment. Such stuff would be diagnosed way way earlier when it was MUCH smaller as requiring surgical treatment by his general physician who would refer him to a specialist. At most after a couple months you'd have an appointment and that specialist would immediately determine that it needs to be removed surgically and then you'd get a referral to the hospital and probably within a maximum of 6 months it'd be gone.
I have had "bad skin" issues since i was 14. I get bilaterally symmetrical lesions, since having hair transplants, i get weird lesions on my scalp. My eustacean tubes crack like gunshots every morning. NO doctor has been able to diagnose or help. None, and i have been to many US trained doctors. Trigeminal Neuralgia sucks. My husband has this. It was misdiagnosed by several doctors for about 20 years. Once we knew what it was, he started treatment. Even with treatment, he will still get flares. I found a page online somewhere that recommended camomile tea to help calm the nerve. It works for my husband. He hasn't found a medication to curb the flares. When he has one, he will drink a cup of camomile tea and in less than 5 minutes, it's gone. Not saying that it will work for everyone, but it works for my husband. Every time it happens and the tea calms it down, he thanks me profusely for finding that. I always tell him I don't need thanks. I love him and because I do, I want to do all I can to help him with health issues.

I live in New Zealand. Drs and nurses are that under paid and understaffed plus people can not afford to see their own Dr OR they cant be seen for weeks at a time. People then clog A&E making the situation worse for the hospital system. People have known to have passed away in the A&E waiting room because the wait is so long because of all of the above. That is New Zealand's Tax funded system.
that mass shows on either the left, or right side. This thing's fake. Its location adjusts according to the camera. If you look at the image where he's looking in a mirror, and the one where he's talking to the camera. The mass is on opposite sides of the face.
I really had a hard time watching this, because the tumor switched sides of his face every time there was a new shot. Why would the editor reverse the image so much? At the end, I couldn't determine what was the "real" image.
It was a "little pimple" and then pea-sized when it would have been cheap and easy to remove, but he waited until he had something bigger than a bowling ball hanging off his FACE.
Hi Dr Young I usually have m fix of you sometime during a day and I’m glad I found this one because I have had a question on my mind. How or what do nerves look like and are they easily seen please? Thank you xx

I wonder from the procedure what are the risks of getting long term chronic pain like trigeminal neuralgia
Right cause having that volleyball on your face isn't already paralyzing
Lets grow teeth for medical purposes 😂
I live in Canada and I have huge lymphomas on both my ankles that cause my toes go numb and even with our Government health care they are classified as a cosmetic removal and want me to pay a small fortune. Due to that they are almost double the size they were a year ago.
I know a person with the same pathology that lives near my home. But he has two tumors like that. one in each side of the face.
"Too much for medicaid, not enough for private healthcare". The american dream.
The Cyst moved from the right side then to the left. Anyone else notice that ?
Hedidn't have it removed because he didn't have healthcare insurance and couldn't afford regular doctor visits. Inexcusable.
Financial - or they live in a state like Florida, where non pregnant adults are denied Medicaid unless they are declared disabled, which can take years to get even a partial approval. Because our legislature and Governor think poor people are just lazy and do not deserve health care, and should just move away.
It kept switching from left side to right side!
Americans will go online for medical advice on a fucking tumor, jesus man, get a health care system asap
My mother died because of the system.
😂 has anyone else noticed the cyst was on the right side of his face and then on the left side you have to be blind not to have noticed !
So how did the guy pay for his surgery?
Letting himself be filmed im sure gets the surgery taken care of.
I would've cut that out myself and got a root. Did my mole, and wart and many more😅
I can appreciate people being concerned about the cost, but when it was the size of a pea, it would not have cost that much to have it removed.
I kind of like thos doc. What are selling?😅
More folks are moving to a medishare program. Some procedures can be less expensive because you bypass all the coding.
Dr pimple poppers dream
This is beyond her expertise.
that mass shows on either the left, or right side.
Our Army Doctor hit a bump on my daughtersfoot and it disappeared.
The profit motive is a conflict of interest in basic health care.
It was a "little pimple" and then pea-sized when it would have been cheap and easy to remove, but he waited until he had something bigger than a bowling ball hanging off his FACE.
I would go to a hospital and say I will hack it of now, and do it , before it got that big, they would have to save you
it's really sad that it took so long for some facial surgeons in the US to volunteer to treat this guy pro bono.
Hi Dr Young I usually have m fix of you sometime during a day and I’m glad I found this one because I have had a question on my mind. How or what do nerves look like and are they easily seen please? Thank you xx
Ah na leave it there it might leave a scar
😱
And this is why I am really happy and thankful that I don't live in US
Yes, how did it start on the right side of his face then move to the left side???fake video??
Only in America.🙄
❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏😇
Somewhere in this world is a Woman that Openly prayed for the worst things to happen to him.... Just sayin
vill you help him for free? if he comes to you
What’s so sad is that this man who should get care cannot and you get countless people going for totally unnecessary cosmetic surgery over and over because they get addicted. Just think of all the guys going for bbl and hair transplants.
I just unsubscribed. I don't like the freak show vibe of plastic surgery errors, etc.
Sounds like he wasnt consuming enough fruits which caused his salivary glands to wither
Please show the video with less commentary. People want to see your reaction on the surgical procedure and not pausing the video to listen to medical monologue. I wanted to see the surgery.
then watch the surgery? this is his whole video style, why should it change because you dont like it?
Go watch the actual video then instead of complaining
Then go find and watch the original. What you're asking for is content theft and can get the channel taken down.
@@dorianthegrey2685 Lucky for them, the original is linked in the description.
"Please show the video with less commentary." Good news for you. The original video, which you can go watch instead of this, has NO commentary 😊
