Great video, thank you Colin! I just bought one of these units, and have a 2017 manual transmission. Are you able to share the best way to connect the white/grey wire out of the harness into the corresponding wire in the passenger kick panel, so it will automatically engage a camera in reverse?
You said that the Jeep Sahara doesn’t come with a uconnect module, that is incorrect. I have a 2015 Sahara that does indeed have a module located behond the HVAC controls…Do I remove it and disconnect all of the connections?
will the side brackets from this radio work on an alpine INE-W970HD, and if so can they be purchased separately. I have this radio installed in my jeep but the side bumpers look like crap and the ones from the i407-WRA-JK are much better quality
@@lawranger unfortunately this is the case with every aftermarket unit. You could tuck the mic in a different spot if you don’t like the look. We put it up top as we’ve found it works great there. It’s about the size of a pencil eraser, so unless you’re looking for it, it’s relatively unnoticeable.
Great video, well done! One question I have is about the 'factry' USB port in the center console... So that no longer works with this aftermarket install?
Retaining that port can be problematic. The port doesn’t work well with Android Auto, and can be unreliable even with CarPlay. If you want a connection in the center console, I’d recommend running out umbilical usb directly to the console.
@Colin Vargo Good feedback, thanks, man! One last question - Is there a reason you need to cut out that plastic support? Kinda hate cutting out factory pieces of the dash. I was watching another install from you guys (i207) and that part didn't need to be cut.
@@MNDooD the deck sits a little tall. You might be able to get it to work, but if you look carefully, this one was already broken when we got there. Lol. It was split down the center.
I was wondering the same thing, going to run a USB cable from the back of the head unit to an adapter where I'll have to drill into my Jeep plastic somewhere and mount a dual USB connector
The i509-wra-jk has wireless android auto. This model is wired. Be careful with 3rd party cable and usb plates as quality varies and android auto is finicky with extra connections on the usb cable.
wow i’ve drove a jk for 6 years and never knew off the e brake up and down trick. First time using bluetooth hell yeah
There is no need to cut the support bar, the Head Unit fits fine.

Can you recommend a subwoofer that will fit under the seat and can easily be connected to this receiver?

Where I can get the sound settings for the jeep jk 2016 I have installed this kit but it reset it and it’s all flat
I have an Alpine ILX-207 that got rained on. Will the mounting hardware from that radio work with the ILX-407?
I have the 2013 jk Sahara with Alpine radio keeps shutting off then comes back on??? Any ideas?

I have radio installed. I flashed the meastro. My steering wheel controls do not work, and the “settings” are greyed out. I have a 13 sierra
Can I purchase the wires separately. I bought my jeep with this installed but they didn’t install the Bluetooth or updated the software
Trying to install but the sound doesn’t work. I have the alpine sound system
What do you do with the usb after you put it in the dashboard?
That would look nice in my Sonoma...😉👍🏼
This radio is available in a universal version as an IlX407
Is there a way you can retain the factory phone mic?
Unfortunately no. The noise cancellation tech used in our deck require our microphone.
Yeah, the extra mic is turning me away from this unit.

@@colinvargo3418 Haha! Appreciate it!

Also I retained the factory usb and have no problems with Apple CarPlay.
If you add the kta 200m amp on the back of this head unit..can the jeep metal frame bracket stay in place?
Thanks
Yes it will stay in place.
Is the android auto wireless? If not where do you connect your phone?

Does this one have the 24 bit 96k outs??
Unfortunately no. The i509-wra-jk does though.
What do I need if I want to retain xm radio?
You need an SXV-300v1 tuner.
