I bet those prints are STUNNING in person. If I lived in the UK, I'd buy one from you. The negative is the score, the print is the performance... nobody's doing it anymore, images on screens don't count. Great job!
Thankyou !
that's really nice - great photo and print
Clever way of focussing. Nicking that.
Absolutely gorgeous!
LF and me, parted company after one year! Long, long ago. Great Video!
Thanks for sharing another great video. The seascape photo is stunning you must be very happy with the final photo. I know I would be. The other photos are not to shabby either. Enjoy your fishing!!
Thanks
Nice video
Thanks !
Just wow!
Thanks !
Great work Austin :) seeing you work in the dark room was really interesting.
It's enough to put you off !! Its not always that tricky !
Yes the darkroom side of things was interesting. Just shows the manual skill needed to pull a print out.
I have been tempted by large format because the cameras are fascinating and the experience seems so engaging but I reason that the quality I get from medium format is more than enough for my 12x16 prints, so the only reason for me would be to be able to use front tilt to allow depth of field at wider apertures. I often like to work quite spontaneously so even medium format can sometimes cause me to lose pictures or even feel disinclined carry or set the whole thing up. So I wonder if people are trying large format because it seems like the ultimate form of film photography and maybe being put off by its' complications. Anyway good luck with it, I like your pictures and enjoy your video style.
Your right
For me LF is about resolution and depth of field through the movements . In some ways it's easier as you can customise the development towards individual shots . I just shot a roll of xp2 35 mm and had a range of contrast requirements ( must say the 510 semi stand worked wonders through the roll ) a spec of dust on a 35 mm neg is a boulder and a dot on LF
It is a ball ache . I'm glad I got to grips with it but as I say , if it's all I did it would kill the love of photography for me
I really don’t think you will notice a higher resolution in a 12x16 print by using a 4x5 camera, and tilting the lens panel isn’t always an option.
@@tedcrosby9361 Have you darkroom printed with 45 negs ?
@@AustenGoldsmithPhotography Yes I have over 40 years experience. My enlarger is De Vere 504.
