The 500 is for life. Timeless piece of equipment. I have had mine since 1983, and it is still going strong. Speaking about Leica, I dug out my M3 and the two lenses that go with it today, the 5cm F2.8 Elmar and the 35mm F2.8 Summaron( with goggles ), and gave it a go doing some candid photography in the enarby town. Sometimes we forget how cameras, or rather Leicas used to be made. Another timeless classic. Very nice photography, BTW. Consider using Fuji Acros 100 for these long exposures. Although it is a couple of stops slower than HP5 Plus, it has no reciprocity up to 120 seconds of measured exposure, and hen about 3/4 of a stop up to 15 minutes of measured exposure. You will probably save yourself a lot of time of hanging around. It has become quite pricy though, sadly. Thank you.

Yea I've considered acros for night stuff . I've used it by day . I'm getting so used to hp5 at night . Tbh the hp5 in 510 doesn't seem to be that much grainy than my acros shots
Thanks for following my vids and the feedback

I feel like such a lightweight shooting digital after watching the effort you go through developing. That said I feel something similar to something you said in the moonlight.
On Fri I set out to see out the day then shoot midnight to midnight on the same scene, shooting every hour and any other happenings. I gave up before 12 hrs as the light and conditions after sunrise weren't improving,
Still watching the sun set, the glow move east to sunrise is something special. PS enjoy your shots and the light off the moon.

Lovely video Austen…..if you are not in too much of a hurry stand developing HP5 in Rodinal for about 1 hour 10 gives lovely results when you have pushed the film.

the lid of your paterson tank works as an amazing funnel for that fixer bottle.

Wonderful images, what does the presoak of HP5 do? I have never done that.

I only pre soak hp5 as the zone imaging instructions suggest no pre soak on T grains , it helps to pre heat the tank to the correct temperature, soaks the emulsion and also I think it removes the anti Helation layer ( what ever that is !)
When I pre soak hp5 35 mm and 120 the water comes out black , on 4x5 it doesn't!!??

Once again beautiful photos and amazing location! The very last one that you posted has such soft lighting , amazing ! Are you metering or just going with past experience for your exposure times when taking moonlight photos?

Great night photos! The Hasselblad 500 is timeless. So simple it just gets out of the way and lets you shoot. How is the 510 pyro? I’ve only used Pyrocat HD and find it works well. I’ve heard good things about 510.

Tbh 510 is all I use right now . I find it's highlight management a bit more reliable than other developers. I've not used HD so I can't compare
