I was born in Faro and I live there. it is an incredible city. the population is not large, which makes it a calm city, despite having many foreign tourists. We have one of the largest, if not the largest, estuary with the best and largest marine wildlife. and the majority of seafood in portugal comes from the algarve~
I can't help but say: Portugal is the best country in the world, I've been to Portugal back in 2003-2004 where I've been working and living and I've got to tell you the people are so friendly and so welcoming, the food is great the streets are clean and the beaches are so pristine that I've decided to move to Faro Algarve and next year I'll open a private practice ( I'm a therapist, a clinical psychologist), God bless Portugal and the portuguese people 🤗

Coming from the UK, we found it to be really reasonable based on activities, food and drink - we didn't really experience much of the nightlife in the cities or anything but eating and drinking out seemed more than fair to us. In Carvoeiro, if I remember correctly, we had two big steaks, a bottle of wine and a dessert for about €50 😁

Ciudad muy sobrevalorada, toda la ciudad muy sucia, con bloques de pisos que se caen a trozos, el suelo de la calle muy sucio con botellas de cervezas y chicles pegados a cada rincón, además las baldosas totalmente dañadas, medio salidas todas, los restaurantes te quieren tomar el pelo con la comida, la cataplana un timo, no es lo que describen y los precios abusivos, la gente, de faro muy mal educada y sosa con los turistas, sin duda jamás volveremos a esta ciudad, en Portugal hay muchos sitios mejores que faro para visitar.
we spent 4 weeks on a road trip around the med......italy,spain,france, finally to portugal as my boat is berthed in portimao.....the portuguese were the least friendly.....the looks they were giving my indian friend !! the spanish were the nicest.....he was being given dirty looks in naples too...like they saw a leper! so much so that I sailed my yacht to valencia from portimao......
