My favorite thing about this whole thing was watching how much harmless fun everyone is having. It was fun to watch and actually kept me smiling. My feel good for the day. Thanks for posting!!!!
I don't understand why so many people are turning this innocent video into a racist one. I'm a black Texas A&M student and I did not initially think "Oh so many white people! Where are the black people?? Blah Blah." There are a small number of us compared to the majority, but that doesn't mean we don't exist or go to college. It's just one university and a 4 minute video. It can't show every ethnicity at this school (trust me there are many other backgrounds that go here). There are other reasons why you didn't black people participate. 1) Maybe they were asked and just refused to participate. 2) People that would've participated just were not there when this was going. I live off campus and I hardly go into the MSC anymore. I didn't see this or know it was going on. The bottom line is get rid of the negativity and enjoy us Aggies do what we do best. Great video and GIG'EM!
MissModernMayhem I can enjoy the video and think at the same time. If you think we should ignore the unpleasant history of A&M and its current lack of diversity, then you are either being soft or naive. Change never came by ignoring unpleasant conversations. BTW, we are not criticizing the makers of the video. They are not to blame for any of this. They are just working with the pool of people the campus made available to them. From what I hear they did actually ask Black students to be part of it as well. But, due to the few number of Black students they could ask, they ended up with no participants. In fact, I am grateful they made the video because it ended up visually demonstrating what everyone knows statistically. A&M is NOT a diverse campus, and that is not a good tradition or be proud of. TheFluffinAmazin Thank you for making it asking everyone to participate.
Black Aggie I am not an Aggie and I never registered that there were no Black students in the video. I know nothing of the history of A&M. I am not trying to be sarcastic or start an argument, but would it not help your point if you identified yourself as an Aggie instead of a Black Aggie ( although I guess I am just assuming you are Black because of your screen name )? Diversity is great and what all educational institutions should have or strive for, but when students identify themselves by their ethnicity it does not help discussion in a favorable way.
NJ Ringlord You must not have read my comment. I wrote that there are not many black people on the campus. I go there. I see it with my own eyes. As for it's traditions, it has changed. The school didn't used to allow women and now there is a great number of us. Plus, if I read through the traditions correctly, we don't celebrate that there is no diversity. We do have cultural diversity events and a department specifically for multicultural service. The school is trying to get a more diverse student body. Scholarships for first generation students is really aimed at minority students and exclusive scholarships for minorities exist. When I was in high school they had a recruiter come by to speak us and I went to a Black/Hispanic dominated school. So, they are trying, it just takes time.
MissModernMayhem I think NJ Ringlord was referring to me with his/her comment. Anyway, I appreciate your point about effective tactics to be heard, NJ Ringlord. I don't go by that description in everyday life. I created that screen name for this discussion so that people can get an idea of who is raising the issue. I was trying to give people an idea of who they are talking to. It was not meant to be a statement of of anything other than being descriptive. Even if it was something else though, people need to get comfortable with Blackness. I am who I am. I am as much black as I am an Aggie. I may be able to hide myself in this forum, but what am I going to do in the real world? People are going to see that I am Black. The issues I am raising should be judged on their merit and the validity of the content instead of the color of the person who is raising them; which brings me to MissModernMayhem. I have reread your comments, I don't know about you but I find it hard to enjoy myself if I don't do anything when shitty stuff is happening around me. You may be too young and naive to be fooled into appreciating the gesture and lip-service the University administration pays to diversity. But, I have been dealing with the University for the last 14 years one way or another, and they have been using the same tactics all this time. Whether they really care or they just preach diversity for PR purposes, the result has been always 2% Black enrollment for the past 14 years. Talk about 2 Percenters! [pun intended for those of you who understand what that means.] Don't tell me they are trying either. I know they are not because they are not using all the tools even UT-Austin uses to deal with the problem. So, Black students like you should be demanding more instead of rationalizing the administrations failure. This needs to happen with all deliberative speed. I can personally tell you that they have been singing the same tired all song, "We are trying" for at least the last 14 years.Don't you be fooled. Can you imagine Dr. King settling for "We are trying" when the Kennedy Administration kept on singing the same song about the Civil Rights Act? We don't have to because we know the story. He forced them to try harder.
Man, it's impossible to not be in a great mood after watching this video. I keep coming back to it every here and then when I need a little cheering up!
I had to come in and watch. As a person who has M.S. for 13 years now I needed a Smile and people to make my day. This did just that. THANK YOU TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED.
This video gladdened me two years ago (during a dark time). Three years later here we are again, the infectious music, the students with their diverse shine, and me, gladdened during a dark time. Thank you Texas A & M!
Make sure you visit! I wanted to go to UT for about 10 years and then when I visited A&M that all changed :) Of course, they are both still great schools, so you can't go wrong!
I wasn't on campus on this day but if I was and someone asked me I would have totally danced and that's coming from an African girl. I love how that guy at 0:52 is doing the Shmoney dance!
I'm a big fan of your dice videos, and just randomly landed here while scrolling through looking for new dice videos ha. After everything that's been going on in the last month in the world, this just makes me silly happy ha. It's even better that it's 5 years old 🤣
This is awesome! Hopefully this takes off like "Call Me Maybe" and TSwift sees it. Such a great idea, guys. Wonderful filming and editing. Y'all rocked it!!! GIG 'EM AGS!!!
Whoever told you aggies could dance was lyin :P. But hey, haters gonna hate right? Nah, but for real, glad to see people having genuine fun. -Baylor Bear
Watching some dice making videos... What be this?... Watches until the end.. That was adorable and satisfying. Now back to learning how to make dice while listening to SHAKE IT OFF SHAKE IT OFF!
There was a good mix of those who failed their acrobatic checks/made their saves, those who barely passed the check and others that got the nat 20 (ballet guy). I would’ve totally participated in this if I was a college student … and went to Aggies … and lived in Texas. Any excuse to dance is a good one!! 😆😆😆😆
Wait, whoa, that's what we're talking about here? Kinda sad, some people fighting about how there aren't alot of people who are black in the video. I just wanted to say how nice it is to see people just dancing. Not a parody, or a cover (even if those are awesome), just a dance vid! Whoop! You don't see a lot of those anymore! :3 anyways, yeah, great vid!
This made me feel a little better for my lack of dancing skills. And by lack I mean I have zero but all the same these guys really had fun with themselves.
@@Rybonator He liked it. He also tells Aggie jokes, a lot! Only thing is that song is very much an evil ear worm!! I was humming it the whole time I was shopping!!
1:25 That's a Ukrainian (or at least Slavic) dance! I actually did that dance during an English camp for high schoolers in Ukraine with two people who invited me to do the dance with them

You aren't lying!
Some damn good fouettes!
I know that was amazing

Diversity is death
Such a pure video from an older, simpler time. Less Corona back then...
i dont know why this was recommended to me at the end of 2019, but im not mad at all about it.
You can still shake it off in 2019/2020 :)
I absolutely loved this. University of Texas and Texas A&M are my dream colleges!
Well hurry and get here!

But I do plan to send an application to UT and Texas A&T

Can you make the video available to watch on a noble device? I'm not able to view it on my phone!
I'd love to, but with copyright reasons for the song, I can't :(
And what makes a device noble, I wonder?
Matt Fox I think apple pays royalties on Nobility :p
Matt Fox A noble device has it's outer shell satisfied with enough valence electrons.
La mejor representación de lo que significa Shake It Off , muy bien hecho chicos.
