It definitely wouldn't, if you got given your hand effortlessly like a brat with a rich dad, it would be repetitive, it wouldn't keep you busy, you would get bored of the game and you wouldn't play it ever again. This game isn't a disposable game, you have to work for your progress. @@JazzMaster01
God I remember one of my first times running into Death and accidently turned an Ace into a 2.. why they made it rely on dragging instead of "click target and recipient" kinda thing I will not know..
Yeah you need to watch out for that. Only go for a deck with one suit/only face cards/etc. when you have the boss reroll voucher or a luchador joker (disables the current boss blind ability when sold). Otherwise you'll have to keep your options more varied. Or alternatively, you can make a build whose scoring is not reliant on your playing cards. For example, if all your chips and mult come from your jokers, it doesn't matter if all your playing cards are debuffed.
For the suits, if you get a suit boss blind early, you can start building around that suit, as the boss blind won't reappear until well into endless mode.
That's why pair builds are so op in gold stake. balatro professor demonstrated that because they are easy to play and rely very little of the hand itself, boss blinds are less of a danger.
I hope you find the voucher (retcon? I don't remember the name) which makes you reroll the boss blind, I think it's the best way to avoid bad surprises. Sometimes you can skip for that, but I suggest to do that only when you are in trouble and you know you will lose the run.
Yeah this is crazy. But honestly, unless your going for trophies, you really don’t need this much because once you get the the end of ante 8 it’s only like 200,000. If you go into endless mode(which is still technically tracked) I think ante 16 is in the trillions which is insane.
@@juxyper even if there is a debuff for hearts, chances are the base multiplier for the suit and any other bonuses would be able to push him over the edge for the score limit
Having played Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magic the Gathering, I always knew having a shorter deck means increasing the odds of getting your strategy in your hand. This is why I like the Abandonned Deck.
btw when you're doing a baron run, always have two suits that have kings, because you never know when you get past ante 8 you might get hit with a goad and maybe you don't have a Wrestler or Chicot or the voucher that lets your reroll blinds
I know this one already, but what I DON'T know is *when* I should have my build locked in. Should I have my hand of choice decided off the bat? Ante 2, 3? Cause it feels like I only get to start scaling a build in ante 4/5 and i feel like that's too late.
In a different video they explained a key thing taht can help you: If you have a tarot/planet card in your consumable slot, that card won't appear in shop or in booster packs! This could increase the odds of getting the ones you want to use, and if you already have what you want in your consumable slot, you won't find another if you open a booster pack
Does using Tarot cards like Death during a blind mean its perminant? Like if I turn a 2 into a King during a blind is that forever even after the blind?
No. Permanent only last for that run in which you use the tarot card. Once you start a new run all cards will return to the original 52 card deck. No alterations made to your deck carry over into a new run. Good luck 🍀🃏
The more fixed your deck is, the less hand size can matter too. X of a kind and flush five builds only need five cards if your whole deck is six of spades, meaning echo in spectral packs can become funny
I actually haven't played a seed yet but plan on it. The official Balatro discord server has a seed channel where people post interesting seeds. I'd start there!
Hard to answer but I would say economy is king. Save for interest, get a good econ joker, make some gold cards. The more money you have, the easier it is to manipulate your deck
you need the shortcut joker that's for sure and then you can lose low cards (2 to 6 for example) and try to play straights with higher cards and then you can probably lose the shortcut joker
There are a few ways to do it. - any tarot card that turns cards into specific suits - permanent joker - death cards Those are the ways I’ve done it recently but i also just started playing so there are probably more ways to do it.
Yeah, but sometimes you intentionally move your jokers in the non optimal way in order to not win right away so you can get more money from lucky or gold seals or scale specific jokers like lucky cat or trousers. Sometimes when I'm bad, I'm just too good 🤠
Balatro puede ser así de malo a veces. Lo mejor es optar por una construcción de Barón después de enfrentarte a la Planta o tener el cupón de repetición
how the fuck could you build a deck like this? you need to find right packs, jokers and tarots every single time, with enough money as well! that's crazy!
I believe I got a blueprint with DNA (allowing me to make two copies of a card) and then trading card to remove everything else. And yes, I think having the ability to generate a lot of money will allow you to reroll for more hanged men and death cards.
If you get overstock and tarot merchant (or even better the upgrades) you can easily hunt for temperance and hermit through rerolling, this way I was able to get up to 10-15 rerolls between each blind!
That's why economy is so important, especially on the higher difficulties/stakes. The more money you make every blind -> the more options you'll have in the next shop -> the easier it is to get the cards/jokers/etc. that you need for your build. It's shockingly easy to get a death and a fool every shop if you make like 100$ per blind lol, but of course you first need to snowball your economy for that.
@@JamesV1 The interest you earn from having $25 is a good starting point. There are also some Jokers that help with your economy. Finally, the Investment Tag can give you $25 just for surviving the boss blind
