Yeah I'd say the biggest change in me losing to me winning was the 'no skips'. Like even on anaglyph. Most tags are just not worth missing any shops to me.

Gold cards definitely. But I'm on the fence about Steel cards. That 1.5x mult is powerful. If applicable, I like to put Steel on a card that will help you make secondary hands, not my primary hands.

You can consistently draw a ace->10 straight using all your discards and a hand or two of 5 card hands, due to math. Only 52 cards in deck, you generally start with 8 hand size. Even with only 2 discards you still have a decent chance, as you could still burn through half of the deck in 4 hands

I usually add glass cards if nothing else makes sense, because they could get me some emergency multiplier and break immediately, meaning I don’t care too much what suit or number they are unless I’m going heavily for flushes

I will add Green deck doesn't have interest So played hands and used discsrds are more impactufl because of that. Money seed and tree both increase interest. This can help you net more money if you already have a lot

I will say that there are exceptions to this. For instance, if you have observatory then make sure you take every blue-seal card you can. If you have hologram, it’s fine just to take a card from every pack (though I usually play high-card builds so it doesn’t really matter regardless)

Maybe it's a bit of a mental game, but I usually make my 6, 7, or 8s my gold and steel cards, just because they're so "middle of the pack", and would only be needed in a stretch for a straight.

High Contrast and 4 Color Decks ++ but yeah, the Joker ordering was the most important thing for a beginner imo

One of the best ways to do this in my opinion is to get two (often same-coloured) jokers that are based on the suit (like gluttonous joker) as a backup.

I remember realizing that I could use extra spaces in my played hand to act as mini free discards. That blew my mind, and my win rate has gone up significantly since then

The best strategy against unfortunate boss blinds is just building your jokers in a way so that they don't rely on your cards scoring but just the base chips and mults. I've won (and even one-shot) the Verdant Leaf boss blind without having to sell any jokers because they were simply strong enough to beat the blind without the need of the hand actually scoring

I have to disagree. Sometimes when you are chronically low on money and can't afford much in the shop anyway, it's better to skip for a bunch of money or for a holographic joker that you wouldn't be able to afford.

Double tag deck + skipping for negative can be worth it sometimes though

This definitely is true for base stake runs, it usually isn't worth it. I find skipping is good for stake runs where you don't even get money to buy things from the shops on Small Blind anyway. Skipping also helps against the Pillar, so the least amount of cards get debuffed.

When I started, I played for about 3 weeks straight before even realizing I could skip.

Ante 1 getting 25$ or a free shop can be so helpful. But usually after ante 1 you shouldn’t skip unless you have (like he said) throwback and even then there’s better multiplicative mult options

Absolutely should add cards if you can; you can't always guarantee that cards in your build will be playable depending on random shuffling/boss blind, so, will always need a backup plan.
