Horse might be slower than her but can have better stamina usage than traditional running on foot.

I really don't think that the statue of the seven from mondstat was that story with Yanfei and Eula. Barbara mentions it being a long time ago and that barely anyone remembers it. People would have certainly talk about the incident of the statue if it were more recent, i.e the Yanfei Cargo.

Maybe the abyss order did successfully broke off the statue in the past, but the people and possibly venti are quick to respond. The people might've stored the statue at a secret location and only a few select knows exactly where it is, till time took away people's memories and the location is forgotten.
The abyss then probably re-instigated their attempt at stealing the statue in a totally non suspiciois way via cargo, and that's where eula and yanfei comes in, as other statues are either too hard to steal (statues of liyue are almost all near the abodes of the adepti and the statues of inazuma are also as hard as the statues are either within city walls or in hazardous locations or are constantly patrolled by both inazuman nations. Other venti statues are in clear view and the one at a hazardous location of stormterror's lair). So it makes sense to just look for the one they lost the first time

I may have misread/misheard the story, but when Barbara speaks of the statue, I was 90% sure the statue had been stolen FROM the Cathedral… was I wrong?
Hey, the statue might be lost from a long time ago, but there's still a chance that they might just hide it until people started to forget about it and then ship it to Liyue. It is not necessarily have to happen at the same time it was stolen.
Besides, hiding a stolen thing to be forgotten and then move it to where you want it to be is a legit criminal move in the real world, it's called "Cooling Down".
Stolen goods are considered as "Hot" Goods when they were freshly stolen and authorities will be in a "Hot" search/pursuit (Depending on what you steal) in that time frame, over time if they did not find the Goods they will slowly give up, and the "Hot" Goods will slowly "Cools-Down" (get it?)
And when it's completely forgotten and "Cold-Down" it is then safe to move around as there will be less search/pursuit/questioning over the Goods, so it'll be easier to transport.

I feel the games lore and mystery is strongest when related to Mondstadt, i mean the nameless island alone has had some the most interesting hints here and there thats made lore enthusiasts go crazy unlike anything from outside of Mondstadt.
also most of the most notable characters in game come from Mondstadt, and Alice...
I'm pretty sure towards the end of our journey, we will be directed back to Mondstadt. There's a chunk of mystery in that land still and Venti being sussy as heck doesn't help either xD and the cataclysm scene was most probably in Mondstadt too
Not to mention the one who is most involved in the Abyss as of until the update 2.7 is Monstadt, the Traveler deals with it in other continent (Liyue) but it's exclusively to the traveler only while Monstadt has the knights (and Diluc) involved in it
We still need to find out what happened to that cursed Barbatos statue that's hanging upside down
There was also a theory on a different video about the abyss having an underground base/ ancient city beneath mondstadt, due to the dark areas in the lake (this could just be due to shallowness). The reason for this is due to the fact that Liyue, specially Inazuma, have a lot of hidden areas underground where ancient cities once were that now has been inhabited by the abyss.

Something to note: in the grand master's office, there's an old map of Mondstadt. In it, Cider Lake looks very different. Look to where it connects to the sea in that map and then where it connects ingame. After that, read Klee's lore.
Yep, it's the same mountain pass Klee exploded, meaning Mondstadt connected to the sea in the east instead of the north until very recently.

the mountain pass youre referring to on the old map is brightcrown mountains. klee's lore says she damaged stormbearer mountains (the mountains to the northeast of mondstat that have the anemo hypostasis boss)
@@robinjay8943 if you look at the office map again and the actual map currently, you'll notice that in the office map, the lake is connected to the sea near stormbearer mountains, but, nowadays, the canal is blocked by what looks like rubbles and a huge chunk of... fallen land. so it's STILL klee's fault either way. and that just means that either brightcrown mountains/canyon is man made and made recently, possibly with the help of either alice or klee.
I can't wait to see other areas of Mondstadt that hasn't been released yet, specially the Black Castle and Dandelion Sea

@@hokmabattle3 That area is still not referenced by the characters and NPCs ingame. However, it was leaked on an old beta map and it is speculated to be a DLC area, like Dragonspine and possibly Dandelion Sea.
@@aureliaavalon I don't think that there's any mention of it in game but they got it from the original design of teyvat, the very first draft of the map. The map isn't trustworthy at all because it made Inazuma look like one big island but this was likely a year before the game's release but Mondstadt as a region isn't completed yet

well it's not that weird to have the starting nation smaller than the future ones. It has to be beginner friendly, as genshin isnt some dark souls difficulty type of game

Beside dornman port, I hope 1 more village for Monds and 1 small town for Liyue, then it will be equal with inazuma which have 1 City, 1 port and 2 village
theres actually 1 more town in liyue we havent visited yet mentioned by zhongli during the coffee event called qiaoying village, he said its located somewhere in the northwest of liyue

Dawn winery's surroundings technically count as a village
If I recall, Amber mention that Mondstadt is both the Nation and the City (effectively making it a City-State). While there are surrounding settlements, such as Dawn Winery and Springvale, they are more akin to villages. Mondstadt (the region) is very centralized, with power and most of the population residing in Mondstadt (the City). It's ideal is Freedom, and this is reflected in how there's numerous campsites all over Mondstadt - people are living as one with the land.
Point is, Dornman Port DOES exist, but it won't be a bustling port like Liyue Harbor or Ritou. I can imagine it being like Springvale, except they specialize in fishery/temporary ship ports. As far as we know, Mondstadt isn't exactly known for their Navy (like there isn't a Favonius Naval General).
EDIT: Another possibility is that Dornman Port could actually be located in the West of Mondstadt (the isolated area to the southwest of Stormterror's Lair). Perhaps it serves more as a welcoming port from the regions of Snezhnaya and Fontaine. One clear evidence for this was Eula and Yanfei's Cargo Story and the "We Will Be Reunited" Archon Quest. That closed off area is close enough to where the 1.4 Archon Quest take place, and is also close enough to Liyue and Mondstadt that it would concern Eula and Yanfei.

@@alfredomanalo4107 yea I believe that the Dandelion Sea is actually to the north of Mondstadt. Therefore, Dornman Port shouldn't be close to a subarea that is always referred to as a "legend" by NPCs
Dornman Port reminds me of the German city state Bremen that is splitted in two parts, the main part that lies around 60 km away from the north sea and the harbor part called Bremerhaven that lies directly at the north sea. Both parts are separated by land but act as one city.
Actually Inazuma have port area in every island but they are only for ship docks (according to Teppei). So, Mondstadt probably have one like Inazuman islands.
Didnt Lisa mention a Mondstadt Fleet that discovered the Haar Islands. And theres 10 captains and we only met 4 of them maybe one of them is a naval captain.
Based on all the geographic locations of all the 7 nations of Teyvat, Fontaine is landlocked. Fontaine is the middle of all nations, to it's north it borders Snezhnaya, to it's southwest it borders Natlan, on it's south it borders Sumeru, on it's southeast it boarder's Liyue, and on it's northeast it borders Mondstat. But since it's the land of Hydro, I'm sure the amount of river it has is at least doubled or tripled the amount compared to other nations, they are still able to go to a coastline, but just like in real life, you have to travel by going through other nations.
To minimize the size of the map.
They can just put Land of the Hydro bellow the ocean between inazuma and liyue.
I think every nations rivers aside from Inazuma is connected in Fontaine whereas this rivers are guarded by Oceanids? I think it's kinda mentioned on the past Oceanid Endora event if I remember correctly... CMIIW tho...
Doesnt have to be, considering ALL fatui and snezhnayans travel around teyvat only on boats, snezhnaya can be island(s) on its own and thus making fontaine have coastline
By which i mean, the fact snezhnayans travel around using only boats repeats itself so much in compare to other regions that i believe snezhnaya is some form of island
@@trollcreativestudios1084 Everybody in Teyvat already confirmed that the only nation that was isolated from the rest of Teyvat was Inazuma. Snezhnaya is also on the northernmost part of Teyvat, which means they own everything up there because there's no other nations up there anymore, so it makes sense how they can easily build without any interruptions.
cant wait to see The Whole of Teyvat when it finally fully releases. still 3 out of 7 nations, including some like kaenri'ah and that floating island, if hoyverse also adds them as part of Teyvat.

When you look closely at the map of the exploration mode(i don’t remember the name) we see that we can actually have characters go and explore at the NORTH of Mondstadt, so maybe there will be an area about it, an interesting one

In 2.6 trailer, we saw klee and on the ship and timmaeus standing next to it, My theory is that ship is indeed from Dornman Port. This means that Dornman port is actually active and being used by monstadt people. Well it could be wrong tho, who knows maybe klee, timmaeus, albedo, and venti went to liyue harbor first and go to inazuma with liyue ships? but think it again, i think monstadt city and liyue harbor is pretty far how could they possibly just walk? so yeah i think the ship we saw on 2.6 with klee inside of it just giving us a clue about Dornman Port.

Dottore was an ex student from Sumeru so we might have him appear in Sumeru plot
He is too evil to be playable character, compared to him scara has way more chance of being playable

I have a theory: We know that the order of the abyss have a statue of the seven of Barbatos. This is probably from the northern region of Mondstadt where Port Dornman is located, I also believe that the northern region of Mondstadt is the Dandelion Sea, since we know that this area exists and it is most likely to be in Mondstadt, since the dandelion is a specialty unique to Mondstatd. Also on the statue of Barbatos in the city of Mondstadt there is an inscription that says "The Gate to Celestia". I firmly believe that it may be related to this region and that is why the order of the abyss has stolen the statue of the seven of Barbatos from there. Another remarkable fact is that it seems that Celestia is getting closer to Mondstadt. Most likely, this is because it is in Mondstadt where the entrance to the abyss is located in Musk Reef and it may be that the Order of the Abyss wants to take control of the abyss. If we realize, while in Liyue and Inazuma the fatui are usually behind everything or are partly to blame for what happens, in Mondstadt the main enemy is Dvalin who is controlled by the Order of the Abyss. Only at the end Signora appears to remove Venti's gnosis but they leave quickly. So maybe the fatui don’t want to face the abyss order yet. So I think the abyss is the biggest problem in Mondstadt and has caused a big problem in the north region.

Yes exactly but sadly the writers are too busy doing BS things for liyue at the moment its like they forgot that there's also another nation named Monstadt that they created, until they remember every archon quest for now will only be in China
@@jaschaamielmalik2245 Bullshit. If they are only focused on Liyue, they wouldn't be bothered to setup all these details all over the place. There's a time and place for something. And being more attentive towards Liyue, considering the origin of this game, is it that hard to understand?
I actually think they are reserving monstadt for something big in the future, like whats with Venti and the Goddess of Time?, He is always mentioned in every region in some way or another. And with the Dandelion Sea and the port not released yet, and we haven't went underground Mond yet, theirs alot of myseteries, some even suspect the Abyss is under Mond, and Khaneri'ah's ruins is near Mondstadt.
I think its becouse of lore bomb, we haven't asked Venti yet about Khaneri'ah and he didn't hesitate to tell traveller about Gnosis when we asked him, its more on lore then anything i guess.
I hope there's a quest where they retrieve the stolen statue back and replace it at the Port so we use it to unlock that area in that way, which makes more sense than it still being left in limbo in Liyue.
Its a long wait for new maps, but im gonna be here for the long journey :>

Always wondered how ships come and go in Mondstadt when it’s enclosed in a lake. It’s really possible there’d be new maps about this in the future
You forgot to mention that Cider Lake was directly connected to the ocean in that northeast corner of the lake that's inaccessible but marked on the map. It's just that Klee blew up Stormbearer Mountains, causing the lake to get dammed. That must have been huge economically, since it lengthened shipping times to and from the City of Mondstadt.

No, you've confused Stormbearer Mountains with the Brightcrown mountains. The channel mentioned in the video didn't connect Cider Lake to the sea before. If you go to Jean's office, you can see a map of the city and the lake before Klee dammed it. The water level was lower and the only way out of Cider Lake was the northeast, not the northwest.

Thank you again for your insight on Dornman Port. I heard about Mondstadt having a harbor town while doing the Nameless Island world quest long time again. It's just so weird that Mondstadt is actually the only place that we haven't fully explore to the full extend so far.
well... i think there's still a lot more areas for release and open up... maybe 2-3 more areas...
Technically; Monstadt has six statues. In the quest where we meet Dainsleif for the first time. We come across a defiled, inverted statue in a cave/dungeon, and Barbra later in the quest mentions the missing statue. I agree that there does seem to be more to Monstadt, since the area north around Storm-terror and Stormbearer Mountians seem more detailed than in the beginning. I want to know about the area between Liyue and Storm-terror. I find it very strange that there is that weird chunk taken out of the map there.
Edit: Sorry I looked away right when the part about the missing statue was mentioned. :(
I know the main story gets a lot of hate, but I do like when games slip bits of lore into npc dialogue, books, artifact descriptions, etc. For people who enjoy digging into that stuff. That's the bread and butter for Genshin's lore to me. A lot of careful consideration is put into the lore behind the main events and I appreciate that.

With Respect to the stolen Statue of the Seven, I think it's more likely that the one that was stolen was taken from Cape Oath. There's that wind current there that allows us to unlock the teleport point to the Abyss, and the ruin around the current looks like it can fit the foundations of a Statue of the Seven. It's also not as well travelled as other parts of Mondstadt, making anything there much easier to steal and ship away. It would also make it a shorter trip to Liyue as they wouldn't have to sail the entire known coastline of Mondstadt.

It could be that the river at brightcrown canyon ends at dandelion sea and dornman port is situated there
I don't know if it's just me or anyone else but the dark shaded part of Monstad (north East) at 3:09 that area is slightly viewable now in the map, compared to back then.
Also it's kinda weird that only Monstad has the smallest area in the game compared to liyue and Inazuma.
Probably because mondstat is going play a role in the end game
I guess that means they're saving the best for last. Great stories always end with how it started. Venti and Paimon, Dandelion Sea, Mare Jivari---- there's still a lot for good ol' Monstadt to offer!

Mondstatd being the first nation introduced still has a lot of things to reveal. I cant wait for future patches about these
Ventis second story quest might allow us to see more Barbatos then the other quests with him did.
Zhonglis first story quest was a bit of Morax lore, but a lot of Archaeology, but his second was Azhdaha and Morax galore.
Ei first story quest was pretty much just us going on a walk with Ei, and Ei being all adorable, but her second was all Makoto, the Shogun, Inazumas past and Eis past.
So yeah, archons second story quest always seems to be more god/archon stuff.
Venti will probably coming up with million of excuses when asked about Khaenri'ah XD

So, I explored out of bounds around that northern area of Mondstadt and I'm just gonna make a few comments.

Around West of Stormbearer Mountains there is another canyon that leads from Cider Lake directly to the ocean.

The river did not connect to the ocean but instead led into a sort of lake or large body of water. You can even see the lake in that Genshin map that shows some of the out-of-bound areas.

Yes, can you see the river on the side that leads into the ocean? That's the river from the canyon that leads from Cider Lake to the Ocean.

What I discovered left of the lake at the end of Brightcrown Canyon is a weird looking spot. There was a small spot that was surrounded by a mysterious landmass (idk how to describe it) it surrounded this small spot. Imagine like a slide split in half and it surrounds a circle and the gap is filled in.
I honestly don't know if it's related to the timestamp but it's something worth to point out.

Assuming this is true, it would be nice to see Mondstadt get a new area. They've released several parts of Inazuma in piecemeal fashion (Tsurumi Island, Seirai Island, Watatsumi Island, and Enkanomiya), and now we have The Chasm in Liyue, so Mondstadt deserves a new area after Dragonspine being released early on (Version 1.2). Still, I would like to see them get the new regions out as well, probably more so than getting new areas in existing regions to explore.

Its actually fascinating that mondstadt being our first city still has locked areas that we need to explore in the future. While inazuma on the other hand, i think we explored all of it, even whats below it which is enkanomiya. Not sure if mihoyo will add another island in inazuma in the future tho.
Inazuma borders the Dark Sea. So the probably release a new area in the future.
I believe from the teaser photos of inazuma’s islands back in patch 1.6(?) there is still one Bamboo trove island with mujina to be released for that region, unless it was scrapped mid development…

we started our story in mondstadt. there's so much unreleased about mondstadt currently; varka and the cavalry expedition, dornman port, a second archon quest, kaeya's story. There's also things I personally have more questions about, such as the god of Time mentioned on the nameless island and the fact the spiral abyss is located in mondstadt, according to the map, anyway. I think we'll find out more about mondstadt after exploring the other nations, circling back to mond at a far later point in the story. This was a very interesting video, i didn't know much about dornman port before, thank you :^)
I Want Dandelion Sea to be released in Venti's second quest and the boss to be a bunch of magical foxes we get to fight
If you saw the beta map, a small portion of an island can be seen in northeast above the nameless island. I think that the island was supposed to be the dandelion sea but then when you make another fresh new account... The island is gone... So what I think is that they debunked their idea or just like the aranara quest and adepti abode, you have to play a certain tune on the lyre you can buy from mondstadt or it can be entered like the serintea pot.
Correct me if I made any mistakes here.
I think Dorman port will be added along with Varka's banner in the future, I think his going to be returning to Monstadt soon after his expedition, maybe Alice too is going to be there.
I remember there's a place called black castle northern to monstadt, just exactly like the thumbnail.

It make so much sense to give mondstat a major expansion since its the smallest region currently and it would give us a great reason to go back and meet characters that might have nothing to do with the knights of Favonius. most mondstast characters are part of the knights for some reason.

I’m glad to see other people going to the borders of the visible map as well, to try and look at the landscape beyond, trying to make out what it could look like when it is released.
If you go north-west in Liyue, you can see many waterfalls which most likely come straight from Fontaine.
I’ve done it many times, peeking out towrads Sumeru, Fontaine and Snezhnaya. (I don’t know where Natlan will be yet, so I haven’t tried to figure that out yet.)
Anyway, i am SUPER EXITED for the next versions of the game!!!
I predict Natlan is the most west area.

I think Mondstadt will be having a history of conflicts with the Abyss order in the future updates, ofc not near though cause the lore is too deep and only once all the regions have been unlocked we will finally get back to mondstadt, kaeya and the lost sibling. And Khaenri'ah is supposed to be the last quest chapter of the game so yeah Mondstadt would be having a major role.

sheesh. That Golden Apple Archioelago OST is so enchanting. I joined Genshin just a day after the last event that made Golden Apple Arhcipelago avaialable to us, so I never experienced it. But, man the OST just has a way of inserting nostalgia even when you haven't experienced the area yet.

Dandelion Sea will be another "The Chasm" moment where we will wait for few years before being added
Speaking of lakes and seas, I think west/north-west of the chasm should have a lake, since Teucer did say he came from Snheznahya on a ship. So it's possible there's a waterway in the middle of Teyvat that can bring boats from Snheznahya to Liyue.
The Dorman Port in the thumbnail (which btw is the southern half of Liyue Harbour) looks so perfect.
Most people say mondstadt is like a home but for me it's not anymore. After going to Liyue inazuma and sumeru i feel kind of scared when I'm in the nation of wind. It just seems so deserted so empty and not as social like the other nations. It just feels distant from liyue inazuma and sumeru. It's wrapped up in lots of mystery that is quite overwhelming and scary to dive into. But that can just be my opinion. Anyway thanks for the grate video Cat! 💙
being fed well today on theory and lore from catwithbluehat. this is very interesting!! i wanna say we'll probably get the next region of mondstadt maybe near the end of sumeru since how we're getting the chasm at the end of inazuma updates. i may like to do big damage with my characters but the lore is always interesting!
I doubt that they'll add another weekly boss considering we have 2 for each region
But Andrius is only an overworld weekly boss, different from the other 5, so maybe...?

when? Well, Mondstadt came before Liyue, so north of Mondstadt should come before Chasm. That means north of Mondstadt will probably be involved with some stuff that will happen later. My bet is on that area being a crash site for Celestia, since it's getting closer and closer to Mondstadt, and it tilts from time to time (after some updates it tilts, and after some - it is straight again)

Nothing would make me happier than them adding onto Mondstadt, geographically or puzzle/activity/character wise later on in the game! It could be locked before a certain AR. I get that it's a starter region and I appreciate how simple and small it is to explore, but I live close to the irl areas it was based on and the land of wind has so much more potential than just green grass, rocks, and occasional anemograna puzzle. It really falls flat (literally) compared to Liyue and Inazuma. And give us more windmills!

i dont think Venti's second story quest will have a new weekly boss. Each region has 2 weekly bosses each, Inazuma just got a new weekly boss. So theres 2 weekly boss in each region right now, we met Lupus Boreas in Razer's story quest. But they might add a third one(in each region), but it seems unlikely.

Port Dornman might be populated with Monstadter and also Fontainer since Fontaine is a land lock. I believe the design might resemble Hanseatic League cities like Hamburg or Copenhagen since Monstadt is based on Germanic countries.
Is nice to know that mond has a few more unreleased areas like other regions
In case people started thinking, I theorized that Beidou and Ningguang (and probably Shenhe) probably travel to Mondstadt via the ship from Liyue harbor to Dornman Port.
I think its more closer to travel in land than traveling in water to go to the city plus beidous ship would probably be busy?

I don't think the situation with Eula and Yanfei has anything to do with the missing statue since in Cape Oath you can find a ring of stone as if something was meant to be there. It also makes it unlike since it was said that it was a statue of the seven the church could see from within Mondstadt. If the port is as far out as calculated, there's no way they could've been able to see the statue from there.
I am from the future and a festival will take place at the Port which also introduces another sailor character like beidou and have voicelines about her. /s

I don't think we won't get a boss from Venti's second story quest since we already fought his familiar (dvalin)
Zhongli 2nd story quest had us fight Azdaha along with him
Ei 2nd story quest had us (technically she herself fought it) fight the puppet.
As you can see, the bosses they release from the 2nd story quest of archons had deep connections to themselves.
So far Venti has only been shown to have deep connections with Dvalin. But were already done with him lol.
The only thing I can think of being a boss is corrupted Andrius, or the nameless bard suddenly got ressurected and turned evil.
Or it could be completely unrelated to Venti like Susbedo Boss.
I hope Dandelion Sea (with this port's presence) gives us permanent access to golden apple archipelago
the same way watatsumi gives access to enkanomiya
and the chasm gives access to underground mines

Honestly, I just want to see the Dandelion Sea, I actually don't remember hearing about that port. 😅 Regardless, Mondstadt really does need a bigger expansion to match Inazuma and Liyue.
It will be great for Mondstat to get one more city/town, it never really felt like a country to me with only one city and one village.
I hope the new Mondstadt location comes out soon maybe it will be added if we get another windbloom festival, I really love that event especially with the dandelion seeds falling it’s a really pretty atmosphere.

I'm sure there could be an expansion to Mondstad. They can't just be the prologue of our story. So I believe they will expand it and be key to understand Snezhnaya or Celestia.
All of this is exciting stuff. I have the most fun when I get to explore new places and learn new lore in the game.
These are the things I subscribe for. I have played this game since released and never did I stumble with those NPCs nor thought about how abs were there could be a Mondstadt port somewhere not released yet

so it would make sense for the next map update to be in monstadt since it hasnt gotten one yet
