I really liked how the guitarist showed off this pedal. He pretty much addressed everything. He even had a small section for diminished chords so you could see how it handled dissonance.
@@s.w.matteo6679 It's worth it! I've had mine for a year and it really lights up a crunchy amp! I used several od variants and I haven't found anything I like better than the Dunes.
You guys actually seem to understand your products unlike a lot of other companies where a youtuber manages to do it better simply out of passion the tonality. Congrats on making a whole series of pedals i will buy if not for recording, simply for the hell of cool tonal qualities.
I'm planning on stacking the Dunes and OCD, actually. I think if you need a base-level overdrive the Dunes would be better. My experience with the OCD has been that it can do low-gain pretty well but it really shines as a second "crunch" drive.
Follow her (and us), on Instagram. Plenty of her guitar shredding to be had there. If you want more, research the band Deadsea from Columbus Ohio. It WILL change your life :)
EarthQuakerDevices Done, done, and done. It's hard to find stuff on Deadsea, but what little I found I kinda get the backstory. Pretty awesome. More power to 'er.
Guitar Madness ha me too man.... it’s stacked already. Bout the only eQd I would by is the arpanoid or rainbow machine. I’m sure that’s sacrilege in certain countries 😂😂😂
I just bought this and holy shit it is good. I spent 2 hours getting unique yet highly usable tones out it. I can see more EQD stuff on my board very soon :)
Georgy Alekseev Adam Smith here, thanks for the nice compliment! Never heard Fall of Troy, but will certainly investigate! Truth is, every opportunity I get to immerse and discover the sonic richness and possibilities found in Earthquaker Devices it immediately inspires my muse. Jamie Stillman has been a friend and musical colleague for many years and it would be easy to arrive at flattery. However, the truth here makes it unnecessary. Jamie Stillman is nothing short of a musical and technological genius. What I feel makes Jamie so special is his ability to utilize his music muscle and many years of using it, to fuel his creative designs with Earthquaker Devices. If you have ever witnessed Jamie perform music, it becomes very clear his intentions within it are 100% pure and powerful as a result. Being witness to the evolution of that over the years truly inspires me to see what he will emerge into next. It's witnessing that aggressive & graceful creative energy that inspires my riffs when I get dialed into an Earthquaker Devices signal chain. Also, every human I have met who is part of their team brings a talent, attention to detail, fun, and kindness I personally have not witnessed in any other company. It's great humans making great sounds. Enjoy your day, Georgy! Thanks for listening!
+LisaBellaDonna Sup Adam Smith. I know I am late to the party, but I would love to see a video play through of what you played in this clip. It is so creatively amazing, I would like to attempt to play it in the future. Cheers!
I just got this pedal not long ago. It’s so versatile. I use it as a clean boost and a nice way to boost my rat. Surprised it doesn’t get more love. Mines like an always-on.
More Bandwidth options to get those glassy tones because the stock option and full range option are not going to be able to get those SRV texas tones. A fine tune controls for the mid bump frequency range and mid bump curve shape would help out to match it with the amplifiers eq settings. Listen to SRV texas flood live austin city limits 83 to get that boxy squawk tone for the new Dunes 2.0 version
Very cool sounds but the mids are perhaps more pronounced than I would like. Is this a mid spiked pedal or am I just misinterpreting settings for voice? I'm probably going to buy the plumes shortly....if I can get my hands on one! It's flying off the shelves. Called my local store and they had it at noon. Sold by the time I got there at four.
EQD guys - this sounds insane for guitar, but I'm a violin player, and have tried A LOT of overdrives, many don't suit what I use them for (heavy, riffy eastern rock, which is only a small part of what i do) - I need something that does not compress, has plenty of bottom end and can do a low to mid- gain sound with a wide, sparkly, bright, but not too heavy overdrive. Preserving the original tone quality is a big factor too. This seems like the business - also considering Plumes. Any advice? (stores are closed, covid lockdown, so can't try pedals fora while)
I think Plumes really would be great for you. There is a tiny overlap in the sounds you can get from both of these pedals but for the most part, Dunes is definitely not low to med.-gain. The presence of Plumes is something truly unique.
@@EarthQuakerDevices thanks a lot! Violin is tricky to use drives with - the fact that bowing is continuous (sustained) causes a kind of build-up in distortion... hence looking for low/mid gain. I must admit i like the sound of Dunes more :) could just get both !! thanks again
thanks EQD folks for suggesting Plumes, I got one and it's siiick. Definitely worked better than Dunes would have. I have it on quite low gain here and it's already VERY DIRTY. recorded this quickly on my phone just to kinda say thankz. ruclips.net/video/DKWxf3vPN5o/видео.html
I just started looking into EQD and the two I was most keen on were Dunes and Cloven Hoof and both are discontinued... lol and now i'm sad AF after watching the demos.
I think Dunes into an already sightly dirty amp will nail it. For spacey post-metal stuff you might want to check out one of our delays and/or reverbs. For post- stuff, I like the Afterneath and Transmisser.
excuse me if i got it wrong but i thought Voice nr 4 was the TS-808 setting on the palisades? in the description for this video it says its nr 5 on the palisades. Also, what will this cost and when will it hit the shelves? :)

Did. Love it.

The god emperor of pedals for sure!

This is exactly the demo i needed to convince me to buy this!!
Dont have a Dunes but I’ve watched this video 100 times.
Damn, this is the exact drive sound I’m after. Can hear the separation in every note.
I'm about to purchase an overdrive and was 100% sure that the OCD would be the best choice, until I saw this damn demo. Now it's haunting my dreams.

Try the Free The Tone Red Jasper Overdrive ;)
Wtf, Lisa Belladonna plays guitar too?? I've always been blown away by her synth performances, but that's just not fair. Too much talent.

awesome pedal. I think most of my pedal board is going to end up being earthqueker pedals.
thanks!

Awesome! Thanks so much for your support! Please let us know if there's anything else we can do!
EarthQuakerDevices Exactly haha. That said...can you give us a Centaur EQD take and call it Goatboy with Hick's mug on it? :)
Lisa plays amazingly!
Name and artwork give it awesome personality, love it just looking at it : )
thanks, doc!
Beautiful playing.
Many thanks!
It sounds great! I just bought it yesterday and I think it was my best buy of the year!!
RIGHTEOUS. Just found my next overdrive.
The Plumes seems great but this one is calling me. I think I will buy you.
Yeah holy shit man I truly can not decide
Great playing!
Thanks! You can hear more here: eyemusic.bandcamp.com/
This pedal has some Spice!
v spicy
sad nobody got the joke
This riffage is insane, kinda reminds me of mastodon
thanks! that's Lisa Bella Donna on guitar! facebook.com/LisaBellaDonnaMusic/
@@EarthQuakerDevices Lisa is awesome! More please!
Yea mate . Really well played too.
Lisa Bella Donna is a beast!!!
Cool pedal, but the guitar playing is insane. Seems like guitar player was inspired by fall of troy :)
Georgy Alekseev Yes, The Fall of Troy rocks!

I would actually say All Them Witches - Blood and Sand ;)
This is a grown ups overdrive, and the playing during the demo..... whether I buy it or not, I enjoyed the spot
I love this! A Palisades mini me! Yes!! EarthQuakerDevices

Just bought it finally! My fourth EQD pedal so far.
I’m imagining this in a song and it’s fire. By itself it’s hard for me to appreciate the sauce
Terrific string definition, especially for 9v
Very nice, I'd like to hear a demo of this (or Palisades) perform together with the Speaker Cranker someday.
Very cool! Want one now!

just a bit.
Cool! Opeth rips! Seeing them w/ the Sword this Saturday in Akron!!
That's awesome! I want to see them but they already played at Pittsburgh a few days ago :( Hope you guys have fun though!
Ok dammit.. You got me.. SOLD. This guy should do all the demos!
Great.... cool demo thx
would sound great blended with a slo or prs archon for modern stuff i think
Channel your inner Brent Hinds with this thing. Thankyou EQD 😈

1:39 did I hear everything but the girl?!?! Guitar slaying nonetheless ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
Slightly less warm and muddy than a TS?
is this good for bass
Ive been looking for a new overdrive for a while now. When does this hit the stores?
i live un Argentina, can i find your stuff here or only in the us?
and thanks for making the pedals so breaking fancy
Do you guys think the Westwood and Dunes would work well together for gain staging?
for sure! I prefer Dunes first in that chain.
Great demo guys! I recently found out this pedal has been discontinued? how come?
I just started looking into EQD and the two I was most keen on were Dunes and Cloven Hoof and both are discontinued... lol and now i'm sad AF after watching the demos.
Indeed.
In
If used on the non-diode mode, this is essentially a clean boost right. How much dB gain does it throw out?
This riff fuckin rules
i wanna have a doom/post metal kinda heavy sound, what combinations of pedals are good?
I think Dunes into an already sightly dirty amp will nail it. For spacey post-metal stuff you might want to check out one of our delays and/or reverbs. For post- stuff, I like the Afterneath and Transmisser.
I'm definitely getting the afterneath as well. I'm buying a sea machine from my friend even though I don't really know if I need it
It's also for bass
I'm new to EQD, I'm looking for badass OD/Distortion, this or talon? or something else?
Are you into high gain or low gain? You can check out all our overdrives
here - www.earthquakerdevices.com/shop/Overdrive/
So spice.
this demo is why the Dunes is worth 7 1/2 times more than the Joyo Ultimate OD.
I wanna learn the lick at 0:57 so bad
excuse me if i got it wrong but i thought Voice nr 4 was the TS-808 setting on the palisades? in the description for this video it says its nr 5 on the palisades.
Also, what will this cost and when will it hit the shelves? :)
just to correct my previous reply, its the palisades manual thats wrong. the symmetrical (nr 5) on the palisades is the ts808 setting!
Why is there such a big drop off in volume when you switch the mosfet voicing option?
clipping of any kind will necessarily suffer a volume drop
Is this a demo video of "DUNES version 1" or "DUNES V2???"
This is V1 but V2 sounds the same with a soft foot switch!
can this be used on Bass?
definitely
Really sucks this was discontinued
What's the difference in the v1 and v2 version of Dunes?
v2 has clickless switching
EarthQuakerDevices sorry for the silly question, but what does clickless switching actually mean?
It's not a silly question at all! The v2 Dunes uses silent relay-based switching, instead of a hard-click mechanical switch.
this demo is why the Dunes costs 7 1/2 times more than the Joyo Ultimate OD.
This or fulltone OCD?
we might be biased, but all signs point to this
EarthQuakerDevices what is biased? im from mexico
Ha! Sorry! I meant that since the Dunes is our pedal, we like the Dunes!
EarthQuakerDevices I'll try both and see which one i like the most 😉
Cool! Let us know! :)
Who the hell is playing in these demos? Hard to pay attention when my brain is being melted by the riffage!
