I owned a 95 Roadmaster Limited sedan with the LT1 V8. it actually got very good gas mileage on the highway. Surprisingly good at that. In town with stop and go traffic was another story. Beautiful car and it's one of those cars should have kept it. it had a date with the big screen, a movie director bought it for a movie.
Christopher Marks Why you got rid of it? My great aunt had a '95 too she loved that car more than her 1984 Park Avenue probably was one of her favorite Buicks.
Miss these land yacht wagons. When I see one on the road. I give the owner a thumbs up. The last of the RWD passenger cars from GM. Gas hogs. You never saw the EPA ratings for the Ford Excursion or the Hummers.
For sure, the excursions and expeditions especially. And my families two Tahoes get worse economy than my Roadmaster. These sedans and wagons are gas hogs when compared to a Prius or civic or something though.
These were based on the 1977 GM "B" platform, probably the best of the fullsized platforms. Between the Caprice and The Fleetwood variants. The Roadmaster is the best styled, It actually looks like a Buick.
I had a 92 best car I've ever owned so far. I just bought my first Cadillac since 1988 we shall see how much of a difference Cadillac has made in quality assurance and reliability.
To all those who hated these big Cars screw you these cars were built to last long cause you can still see them around, maybe not as much as before but I still them around and in good shape still to so GM did something right.
The engine was tuned for longevity and economy, not sheer power. I have one of these and I've managed 27mpg on the highway. It also still runs like new with 205k miles on it.
Acuravigor47 Yea you can still find these. They never had the LS1 though. Depending on the year you get they were available with either the LO5 or LT1. Both are great engines with plenty of power and torque to move this boat around.
The wagons are great, mine just has the L05 though. Still a decent one. I'm still deciding if I should search for a cleaner one, or spend some time fixing mine up. I'm starting to like it more each time I drove it haha.
Still baffles me how GM climate controls of the era failed to offer a mode function to where you could choose what direction you wanted the air to blow. Ultra silly ommision
ridiculous seeing how the 4.3 vortec made similar power with 2 cylinders hacked off. yet worse fuel economy. with the 5.7 getting 25 in the roadmaster and the 4.3 getting around 21 in the blazer and s10
It was the Early 1990s. The US was still recovering from the 70s Oil Embargo and introduction to the EPA Smog Era. Not to mention the fact that there was an economic housing crash in 1989 which also didn't help matters. And last but not least this was the early stages of the modern Fuel Injected Era. Now we have the technology to build that same engine with 10 times the power and not sacrifice Fuel Efficiency.
@@extremedrivr u so right thats y in my 94Limited Buick Roadmaster I am about to do a LS1 swap.already redone the suspension and beef it up as speak I can Cruise at 145 with no problems in handling.can't wait to get that LS1 in it.
This is still one of the UGLIEST cars of the 90's!! That side profile just looks horrible and is way too bloated and fat looking. The real Roadmaster was during the 50's. Also these cars here are very out dated meaning not having many options that many other cars had during the same years. The back of the car really is the worst looking of it all.
Yeah and still running 2019 with the LT1 5.7 corvette engine in it and can Cruise at 145 with no problem cause I redone and beef up the suspension. Idiots like you don't know shit about cars

If Buick were to bring back the "Roadmaster" name, it would almost certainly be on a big SUV or crossover.
I MUCH preferred the Roadmaster's styling to that of the Caprice, which had been introduced the year before.

Nice car. GM sure used to know how to do luxury back in the day.

My grandpa had a fully loaded '92 & I loved riding in & driving it, made me feel very royal.
I had a 92 best car I've ever owned so far. I just bought my first Cadillac since 1988 we shall see how much of a difference Cadillac has made in quality assurance and reliability.
I love Buick roadmaster, wagon is my favorite car
I also remember seeing this car in The Departed. Its also in the GTA San Andreas game but called the Elegant

Too bad Motorweek never did the '94-96 models with the LT1. I have a '96 Limited sedan daily driver with over 150K and it runs great.
The very last of the american dinosaurs ;)
...Of GM.
FrightfulAccountant Ford kept the crown Victoria, Mercury grand Marquis, and Lincoln town car until 2011.
Beautiful American car! I loved these. The Fleetwood Brougham seemed outdated when compared.
The final generations of the B body platform :(
i like the later models beacuse they can have almost 100+ hp
If only they made these cars today
They were crap cars and still are. So glad they dont make them anymore and discontinued early.
@@angelinacortalano3741 obviously you know nothing about cars troll. Lol
These were nice cars and ride like a dream
5.7 liters for only 180HP. Almost 300 ft/lb of torque, though, which is more important than HP in a land yacht like this.
The engine was tuned for longevity and economy, not sheer power.

The torque is more important. And like he said longevity and economy. My Roadmaster is fine on power though.
Lol i have one and i love it every time i drive it
I had a 94 and loved it
It's 2015 and I want one of these. Are they still existing these days? Definitly want the wagon with the ls1. I'm on the hunt to buy one this weekend.
Acuravigor47 Yea you can still find these. They never had the LS1 though. Depending on the year you get they were available with either the LO5 or LT1. Both are great engines with plenty of power and torque to move this boat around.
dstarks80 Yeah- I meant LT1. my mistake.
The wagons are great, mine just has the L05 though. Still a decent one. I'm still deciding if I should search for a cleaner one, or spend some time fixing mine up. I'm starting to like it more each time I drove it haha.
Oh yeah, in fact, they're everywhere. Just go on craigslist, you'll find some that are in good shape.
+dstarks80 1991 thru 1993 they came with the LO5's. 1994 thru 1996 they came with LT1's.
real comfort
Looks like the oil pressure gauge was broken on the tester!
RoadMonster....
+CEOkiller RoadSmasher. I've got a '93 that my Mom bought new. I like it.
Buick Road Monster
Did this fella not do The Computer Chronicles too?
No, that was Steward Chefeit.
Ah right, thought they sounded very similar LOL. Silly me of course it was Stewart I remember used to watch it on here.
I agree, the intonation is very similar!

How the hell do you get so little horsepower out of such a large engine? They must had really tried hard...

Y'all need to get a new damn car!
Smells like crap
God i hate those cars...as a motorcyclist I know that this tank will pull out in front of me in traffic, w/ a grey hair behind the wheel.
my camery has more hp than the Buick
this has got to be the WORST most UGLY Buick ever!!! The hell with the rest of the car......its freakin UGLY as hell.
really don't care about your opinion...
Paopolomololl really dont care about your either! typical person with ZERO sense of style and this is oneof the most AWFUL lookin cars!
