It wasn't only the 307. Go check out how often the Focus broke down and left McRae stranded when he was doing good. Sure he crashed a lot, but he was let down many times. Then one day in 2001 protested to Malcolm Wilson saying that either he had a good car o he's out, and miraculously he won 3 consective rallies. I agree with you that Gronholm was better. Loeb only had the way better car, and most other WRC of those years were sub par.

If they hadn't stopped devlopment or changed the suspension they would have won in 2003 with the 2002 car in his opinion.

At least Manfred Stohl gave it some redemption in 2006 by finishing 4th in the driver’s championship.

You can tell from the moment Marcus excalims "I'm fed up with this car" that he's mentally checked out from then on in. Just a beaten man getting furtherly kicked. Thank God he switched to Ford and we got to see 2 more seasons of peak Gronholm magic!
11:45 not only gronholm had 3 gears in Finland But harri rovanpera and Sebastian lindholm both had a huge crashes In that years rally Germany Marcus gronholm went off the road after the start line and it broke the right rear suspension and that ended his rally And some rally’s before that in New Zealand gronholm rolled just before the end of the stage he managed to recover to second place And in the rally Australia gronholm went off twice first he hit the tree whilst leading the rally and then went off again when he reenter the super rally rules and it was a big impact And Cedric Robert who was hired to drive the 307 went off the road in Corsica after hitting the puddle

He seems to be hitting tail a lot. Peugeot 307 engine is reliable and fast but the choice of transmission, clutch and steering components are completely shite. Why a convertible???!???!?! A hatch would have been a lot more easier to control

The second the handle comes off in Gronholms hand as he goes to open the door tells you all you need to know about just how terrible this car was. It didn't want to be driven. And it would waste Marcus' time, kneecap Rovanpera's career pretty badly, be that big an embarrassment that it took Peugeot out of world rallying and tragically be the final ride for Michael Park

The transmissions in these cars are almost always straight-cut transmissions. This reduces power losses at the cost of some extra noise.
If you want a reliable car, anything is better option than a Peugeot.
