I love how Andre is always so respectful of vehicles that aren't his own. He's willing to push his F150 but if it doesn't belong to him he his way more careful. I respect that.
Be hard to see him being any other way unless he was a deviate.
No one cares, but yes he’s respectful
Except for the Ram he ripped the air dam off of and dented the bumper while racing around the ranch before they built the obstacles in what would become Andre's pit. Well that wasn't anyone's personal vehicle, that was a press vehicle that belonged to Ram
Never mind Andre on this, where's 'my buddy' Nathan?
I wish more folks were like that nowadays. People aren’t raised the way they used to be.
Amazing that a $35,000 vehicle is considered "cheap"
well that amount was equivalent to 25,000 in 2010. inflation go brrrrrrrrrr
It says cheap for these vehicles. Not compared to other vehicles. So cheap Jeep and Cheap Bronco is cheap for them.
Nobody said that. False equivalency
Their fully equipped counterparts are roughly 55-65k w/o markup? I get it.
A fully loaded ram 3500 is 116,000$ most vehicles have priced out the average person, My base model Xl f250 was 48,000$ and had to wait 6+ months for it
That Jeep Willy’s is selling for $40-42K where I’m at. The Bronco base 4 door Bronco $50-55k. These markups are insane!
Its a jeep Willys Sport
In late 2019/early 2020 you could have bought a Willy's for probably $34,000. There used to be huge discounts on these things. Resale is up, but that won't last forever. Better to wait until the discounts come back to buy a new Jeep I think.
Plus they have a popular yt channel so that's a perk
There are plenty of fools born everyday. The same people overpaying for vehicles and houses will be crying for bailout checks when this finishes crashing in the next 6-12 months. Those people will be upside down $20k when this sorts out. Hope they like their Bronco/Jeep/ Maverick or whatever, because they are stuck with that baby for several years.
Waiting for Carvana to make me an offer on my base 2 door 👀
You mention the plastic steering wheel in both vehicles, I purchased a Trail Boss Custom last year. The plastic steering wheel was a huge issue for me. It is after all the only part of the truck you are constantly touching with your hands, but it had everything else I needed and nothing I didn’t. I bought a very nice sew on leather wheel cover and spent an hour installing it. It feels and looks like the factory steering wheel and cost me $15 vs $15,000 for the LT. I will be trading trucks again in a year and will likely get the same thing. I spend about 20 hours a week in that truck and have 400 engine hours in 27 weeks. I absolutely love it. And the $15 steering wheel cover is by far the best upgrade I made.
You guys should do a redemption run with the bronco in some AT tires, I love how ford managed to give so much tech and capability at a “reasonable” price tag. Also kudos to David, I hope he get some calls from the manufacturers to start building their test trails 👌
@@johnmeeboer8971 That jeep isn't using the same tires you get on a base jeep, so it already isn't a perfect base vs base comparison. The base wrangler comes with all season tires closer to what the bronco has in the video.
@@johnmeeboer8971 it’s a willy’s so it has rubicon shocks, AT tires, and a limited slip diff. it’s not base.
@@johnmeeboer8971 the jeep isn't a base jeep, Tommy said he upgraded his jeep & it came with stickers and the bigger mud terrain tires. I'm not defending the Bronco at all but apples to apples it should've had the same tire.
@@johnmeeboer8971 They could use the optional tires that you can get, so it would be what it can come with.
Just take it to the tire shop and get some Goodyear Wrangler kevlar's on it, and try again.
I love my Jeep, but I am glad to see the Bronco back and in the mix. I think the competition will lead to good things.
Bronco tie rods go 💥
@@Punisherslayer2 that's the problem with every ids system when you go off road.. but that has been fixed.. there are beefier tierods to install. and to be honest if you are doing a lift kit you might as well do the steering system as well.. i know i will when i get my bronco..
I have a wrangler, and once owned a bronco 2, I love both and hope the competition drives both to make better less expensive options so I can fill my garage up with all the toys.
Finally!!!! Someone testing the Base Bronco on something other that pavement!!
Yes. All the other off-road vids show badlands or sasquatch, never seen a demo of a bronco with no locker
@@musicpsychopath8257 if you want to off-road it you'd get one with a locker. I mean 30k vs 33k just spend the extra 3k if 40 bucks a month breaks you, you shouldn't be looking to buy a vehicle for offroad recreation.
@@GhostlyGhille it's like guys that buy rwd Mercedes AMG models and DON'T opt for p30 lsd option on a car with 400-500 horsepower... OFF ROADING AND/OR HIGH PERFORMANCE DRIVING U NEED LSD!!!
Got a Willy's sport unlimited 6 weeks ago. Manual trans, manual windows. Took it to hunting trail on the 3rd day to make sure everything was working properly and no complaints! 1st wrangler I've owned. Have owned several xj's.
Congrats on the Jeep! Enjoy many trails (and years!) with it!
@@IAmTheZombieGirl thank you
Vehicle's are getting out of hand with cost
Nice of the guy to share his bronco for testing.
And his forescan
I would love to see David become a permanent tfl member
The bronco is doing great considering the jeep has bigger and aggressive tires
but they are stock for the Willys
@@OutlawFarmersRC yes but Jeep interiors are trash...IMHO.
@@OutlawFarmersRC sure but the Willy isn’t the base wrangler. A 4-door sport is the equivalent to the base bronco they have and has a lot more similar tires.
@sneakypete187 My family has 3 Jeeps that I can't stand. My wife wants a bronco, and we did a test drive, and I didn't actually hate being in it. It's all preference. I also have the FX4 Ranger it's based on, so it felt much more natural for us
@sneakypete187 I actually love the Bronco. Can't stand Jeeps, so I thought I'd hate the Bronco too. Turns out I really liked it. And my wife works to buy herself things. If she wants to spend her money, that she works for, on the car she drives to work, then I'm just glad she's excited about something. I have my truck that spanks every Jeep my parents, siblings, aunts or uncles own on the trails.
Always nice to have David along, I like his inputs. Good job with the course, too. Trenches or Holes- one of those needs to be longer and more aggressive. Thank You to Destin for bringing out his Bronco! Good video.
Finally a great demo of the A Trac system! Loved seeing this. Great demo and great course. I am going to Moab with my 2000 Land Cruiser and excited to see how it does against my friend's base Bronco.
Your friend should be worried about how his bronco will do against the LC
Only thing I don’t like about those new Broncos are those scrawny front CV axles, they’re impractical easily broken can’t really lift it anything over 3inches, would much rather have a beefy solid front axle, better off road, better looks, better durability
The Jeep Wrangler JL is absolutely awesome on and off-road. The Rubicon is unbelievable! Solid axle wins hands down!
jeeps/chryslers are garbage they arn't even reliable

I love how they say, " Cheap" to most 30 grand isn't all that cheap.
A cool thing Ford allows is that you can get the sasquatch package across all trims of the Bronco, so you can get lockers and big tires on ANY Bronco. Jeep only allows the Xtreme Recon package on the Willys and Rubicon.
I’m fairly certain that Sasquatch package does not include stay bar disconnects; that is exclusively to the Badlands trim. It does bring lockers, front and rear, and the 4.7 rear differential. It also brings the Advanced 4x4 automatic on demand engagement system. ✌🏼
From the configurator page:
On the base bronco the Sasquatch package is--
.17" Black High Gloss-Painted Aluminum, with Warm Alloy
Beauty Ring, Beadlock Capable Wheels
• 4.7 Final Drive Ratio with Electronic-locking Front and Rear
Axle
.High Clearance Suspension
High Clearance Fender Flares
.LT315/70R17 BSW Mud-Terrain (M/T) Tires (35")
$6,590
@@JahyMoonwalker thanks for confirmation; no stay bar disconnects. 👍🏼
@@JahyMoonwalker the m/t on those Goodyear stand more multi terrain. I bit misleading calling them an mt from the manufacturer imo
For me the Big Green Bronco, it has a slightly longer wheelbase than the jeep and with the amount of daily highway driving that i do i want the IFS and i like the steel wheels just a more aggressive tire tread thats all, this Bronco has 30" tires and Tommi's jeep has 32" tires so that is a bit of an advantage 👍
I'm a left scratching my head a little though. I'm surprised Ford didn't at least fit black steel wheels to it. would of looked a lot better IMO anyway
If that bronco was a 2dr it would be the same price more or less. Thanks to the guy who's letting y'all borrow the bronco. Good dude.
After Tommy and David went over the logs they look like bobble heads shaking in there.
Maybe add that to the store: David and Tommy bobble heads. I had to back it up and rewatch it a couple times !😂
Great videos!
While I disagree with you on the steel wheels are better on everything Tommy I will admit that they are great for an off-road biased rig. Although I prefer black and think black would look much better against that green on his Bronco. Subjective look preferences aside that base Bronco really is an excellent value, the Jeep is awesome but lacking some basic stuff for the money, Jeep can’t keep that up anymore with how much more you get in a Bronco.
This is the comparison I was waiting for. Thank you, guys!
If only the Bronco were manual transmission two door. Then again I was convinced to go more in the direction of Big Green and build a 2021 1982 K10. Then supple issues and busted ankle turned my build into 1982 K10 reborn 2022 new engine Tremic transmission and new 205 transfer case, new springs new shocks, and likely new powerstering pump. Contemplated wanting a Base Bronco Two door Sasquatch manual.... can't fit in new Jeep and couldn't convince myself to chop up and weld seatbrakets back shorter, like I did to 1995 YJ, to get my head inside roll bars.
Me too, great video!
You can really feel Andre’s stress level, poor guy! Kudos for keeping it unscathed 👍
The shots of the suspension and axles working on the terrain are awesome. thank you
It's great to see what your doing on your off road course but it's missing one thing that would make it better a water crossing semi deep so you can see how 4x4s handle it
On the off-road and off-road recovery channels watch even in spite of aftermarket upgrades and reinforcement the ifs just absolutely sucks, very weak, snap tierods, ball joints, rack, almost every time a ball joint or tie rod breaks the cv shaft is collateral damage,, ridiculous how even the smallest increases in tire size applyfies greatly the occurrence and severity of breakage
THANK YOU to the owner for volunteering his brand new car so that we could enjoy this rare video of a BASE Bronco showing what it's capable of. 👍
David is a great addition to the show. He reminds me of someone from This Old House (TOH), which I watched with my Dad as a kid. You guys are like the autimobile version of TOH! Love the videos, guys!!!
Thanks for the video! I picked the Jeep and I'm super excited that my '22 Wrangler Unlimited Willys Sport (Manual, 3.6L, only option is Towing Package) will finally be here in 3-ish weeks!
That is exactly my own reason, I love all the job done in Bronco in all versions, but technology has not much word of honor, and everything is SO NEW! I believe it needs more time to become reliable, I’ll keep with Jeep at this time
I got my 2014 willys for 33k with 3" mopar lift 315 tires , 373 gears. It now has 20 k on it.TWO door. I got it new. Fox shocks
David: "Quit riding the clutch, you pansie!"
Jeep Wrangler: walks over every obstacle without breaking a sweat
I like the manual windows on the Wrangler, the wheels on the Bronco and the white top on the FJ Cruiser.
Between 1987 and 2007, my wife and I went on hundreds of camping and picnic trips using 4-cylinder 4WD vehicles on 4WD roads in Utah and surrounding states. None of our vehicles had ANY traction aids - limited slip, lockers, TracLoc or anything similar - so we learned how to pick a line that would keep three or four tires on the ground, even where most people would swear no such line existed.
Right now we’re driving a 4WD pickup and an AWD car.
Last time I looked, the base price for the least expensive Wrangler was
$33,436 Wrangler Sport 2-door.
My fantasy vehicle for my own use is the 2023 Wrangler Sport 2-door with:
495 optional exterior color Sarge Green
675 hinge gate reinforcement
875 heavy-duty rock slider with step assist
1,895 3-piece hard top
00 Heritage Tan seats
170 all-weather floor mats
40 grab handle kit
195 Trail-Rated kit
1,195 trailer tow and heavy-duty electrical group
00 manual transmission
795 Anti-Spin rear differential
525 cold air intake
$39,850 TOTAL
If I could afford to buy a 4WD vehicle for my wife too, it would most likely be that same vehicle (but in Firecracker Red)
OR
That same vehicle with the turbo 4 and an automatic transmission
OR
A Wrangler Sport 4-door with the same equipment as on the first Wrangler above
$41,570 TOTAL
OR
A Wrangler Sport 4-door with that same equipment plus the turbo 4 and an automatic
$41,570 TOTAL
Can we do a Comparison between the Bronco and Bronco Sport? I’d like to see if the Sport can keep up with its big brother.
A rigged out Bronco Sport vs something like the base Green Bronco is something I would love to see!
On this course, you can bet on it. The base Bronco on street tires walked this course like a champ. And it did not have the same starting features a Sport has.
Sure, the sport can keep up on a progressively tougher trail once or twice.
Bronco sport, is a car. it will never compete with a proper bronco.
I think the lack of 4 low is the killer for the bronco sport. The biggest killer for me offroading in my forester is the lack of 4 low because I cant get up a lot of hills that we have here in Utah.
These Obstacles really really need to be picked up a few notches.....You guys are my favorite off roaders but you will need to play hard to stay in the game.....Right now those obstacles off zero resistance, zero threat, and zero challenge.
I am 30 seconds into this video and already see the discrepancy in tires (size & type). Pretty sure I know how this is going to go :)
I grew up in the mountains, 2WD no lockers bald tires LOL.. hell yeah brother! People really don't understand how good we have it now. I work with a CO state trooper and he said we did it ALL with a RWD, no lockers. Crazy. All of the rich people buying homes in the mountains now just buy a decent AWD or Subaru and call it a day lol.
I like this kind of videos, but in all honesty going off roading or picking trails is the same as getting from point a to point b where I grew up in the ranches in Mexico, and we did it on 60s and 70s pick ups 2wd, so to me the new vehicles should be able to do this and way more than the old beaters we used in the farms and ranches
There you go, the owner said of the Ford, he had a 2wd pickup for years in Colorado and still made it around. Now, it's a must. I live in Michigan and I remember driving a 2wd pickup with no weight in the bed, and just winter tires in the back, and still made it to work everyday. I currently have a 2015 GMC Sierra crew cab Z71 only because resale value in Michigan on a truck is $2000 more over a 2wd. I had a 2003 4x4 ext cab 8' bed chevy, drove home in a non plowed road with 5" of snow. Made it half way home in 2wd posi. Thought at the halfway point, hey, you have 4wd. And yet I made it that far with only 2wd. So, I continued in only 2wd.
Maybe you read my previous comments but regardless, this is more ‘real world’ in my opinion. I have a Willys and a 2 dr sport. I’d like to see more ‘base model’ comparisons like this.
The difference in the first obstacle was Andre kept stopping while you didn't. He also stopped in the second obstacle also. Momentum is your friend.
I like the tire size on the Jeep. Adds to the Willy’s look with having tires that aren’t too wide. Very capable vehicles even at stock.
I have a TRD Off-road Tacoma so definitely would choose the FJ.
Thanks for helping out the TFL Team Dustin and congrats on the new Bronco
David needs to be the CEO . Also keep the real world trucks and suv testing going cheep is best
Bro, base coming with a limited slip, this next generation of used car buyers finna be spoiled.
David is gonna be designing jeep courses in no time 👍 great job!
One of my all time favorites was a bone stock ‘89 Cherokee. I never once wore myself out powering those windows up and down by hand. (Of course, I was younger then. . .). I do not miss the clutch.
That "cheap" Jeep package is pretty good for the price. The Bronco just needs some good tires and a rear locker and should be good on the trails.
Yep. I agree. Base Bronco like this one with rear locker and maybe the sway bar disconnect and better tyres.
@@kelvinhill9874 to bad in order to get the sway bar disconnect you have to get the badlands model which is basically 50k
Great demo of ATRAC! And the nice part is that because it's software you can keep it on all the time, vs a locker that you typically turn on/off as needed. For our Colorado trails I pretty much turn ATRAC on and leave it on when I get on the trail. You might not want to do this in more sandy / muddy environments.
Newer 4Runners added MTS -- multi-terrain select -- which is basically configurable ATRAC. So you can configure it for more or less wheel spin based on your terrain (mud vs rocks).
All that is a bunch of over-priced nonsense just use lockers they work instead of companies spending millions trying to figure how to simulate lockers...just use lockers.
@@poweredbyrice5708 it didn't actually cost millions to implement ABS-based traction control. Modern vehicles already use 4-channel ABS for slip when you're braking, so it wasn't much work to program the computer to also use the ABS when crawling.
I wheel often with double-locked vehicles here in Colorado, the main improvement over ABS-based traction control is that the locked vehicles tend to crawl more smoothly. There's no slip, brake, grab jerkiness.
FYI Jeep added this functionality as "brake lock differential" 8-9 years ago. It's a good budget way to add the rough functionality of lockers to lower optioned vehicles that don't have lockers.
What a awesome show, love both these legends, can’t say I really like one over the other, but was hoping the Bronco would be in the running. Thanks to the man that brought his brand new 300+ mile Bronco to the competition, the metallic green looks great. My F150 STX has that same crappy feeling steering wheel, why wouldn’t Ford put a nice leather wrapped wheel on something your touching all the time, maybe $25 more? Again great show, Nathan should have drove the Toyota, pedal to the metal and full steam ahead, boys got one speed. I’d get the Bronco 4 doors and even the base looks cool going down the road.
Well, for transparency sake, I have a Bronco on order, but I went Badlands for the tech. If I was limited to the lower price, I'd go FJ all day. It's tried and true and there are TONS of aftermarket parts for it to add whatever you might want, from lifts and suspension parts, lights, rock rails, roof racks, and even that tech stuff like a forward camera or even 360 camera systems, plus it has built in switches for customization.
Even though it's more expensive, I would love to see the base Defender with steel wheels in this lineup! Too bad the first two got the axe of manufacturer failure doom🤦
Hey Tommy go to your local auto parts store and stick a pair of 3" round blind spot mirrors on your outer ac vents. Flip vents shut when drive doorless to fix the no outer mirror situation. Flip vents open to run your ac. It works perfect.
They forgot to mention the bronco has 2 inch smaller tires, and inch smaller wheels, and all seasons.
Smaller wheels mean nothing, so it has more sidewall. Realistically were talking 1" (if that) between tires at the dirt. A 32" doesn't have 2" clearance over a 30", it has 1" on paper (Though Ive never seen tires run true to size, they're always shorter) Tire and wheel sizes werent the issues for the Bronco in these tests.
One thing i like about roll down windows, is that you wont have as much difficulty rolling the window down when it is covered in ice and frozen. Power windows often freeze closed by ice berween window and door.
Bronco for the win! Hands down the best overall vehicle. The Toyota would also be a great pick as well for used.
I really like looks and capabilities of that base model Jeep. Perfect platform for upgrades.
Hmmmm. The bronco with KO2's and a rear locker would be my choice.
The CV boot Ifs is Garbage
I am impressed with the base Bronco. They all 3 did very well. I am impressed. Boy I would love to have a quarter million dollars. I would be at Sanderson Ford doing some ordering. A silver extended range lightning 4x4, a mach eawd GT extended range, and a tricked out bronco would live at my house. There will be a f-350 super duty out back and my Super C RV will be on the new F600 4x4 chassis. Ford is doing some great things right now. Thank you and be safe.
I'll take the bronco and add a hard top and tires.
I purchased this exact Jeep (except color) all the things you mentioned as negatives is the reason I bought the Wrangler Willys sport. I love all the basics.
I like the basic manual everything on the Jeep. I wish the bronco had something more basic than base. I like manual windows and na engines.
I would take the most basic of jeeps before even the most supposedly rated and capable bronco, that ifs totally sucks and is just too prone to breakage
2 door SUVs look sooo cool compared to 4....I grew up climbing into the back seats of an Isuzu Amigo, 2door Trooper, wrangler, & a cpl different 2door hatch backs...they're perfectly fine for families!
I agree, but sadly people want to carry the whole house and want everything spacious. Also, lots are out of shape with rusty knee that prevents them from jumping into the back seats.
This was a great comparison guys!! Looking forward for more to come! Now if I had to choose, it’s easy for me, I’d pick the jeep hands down. Ford did great with the bronco, but as quickly shown in the trenches, you just can’t beat the articulation of a front solid axle. The FJ is also a great vehicle, but again with the front drivetrain and the visibility is just super poor. Lastly, David, you built some great obstacles!! Keep up the great work and really enjoy your input and contribution to the channel!!
As a owner of the base mottle with the Sasquatch package
I love it wish ford had the lockers and sway bar disconnect as a completely standard option.
Whats up with that bottom shock mount bolt on the bronco
That shock mount looks like a world of trouble if you hit something. It doesn’t seem to be that strong. If you slip down the side of a washout or off a rock. I can see it get buckled big time.
Agreed. You can buy shock skids for them now. I put some on mine, as they’re way to exposed.
Just add that to Fords screw ups with the Bronco. There are many…
WE have all lost when are calling 35K cheap.
David, the Bronco engines are proven. The 2.7 has been in multiple Fords since 2015 and the 2.3 for 3 years in the Ranger.
The 2.7s in the bronco are having valve issues.
@@antisocial3476 .0001% had issues. It happened to a few dozen of the 36, 000 sold. You might as well not go outside, because you might get hit by lightning.
This was a cool comparison, really enjoyed it. I have a 2012 FJ with A-Trac and Locker but I would still love to own a Jeep and Bronco. All are probably super fun to drive.
they are, I’m on the east coast so jeep is the best option for me, a bronco or FJ wouldn’t fit
It’s $35000 because it’s 4 door. 2 door would have been slightly cheaper
I haven’t seen one without a dealer markup.
@@Propelled I heard Ford put a stop on the markups by threatening to punish dealerships. While there are markups, the markups are not 2x the price of the car.
Someday do that FJ justice and put some BFG KO/2’s on it. A very entertaining video fella’s
Need a 2 door bronco with the same tires but at least you got them 🤷♂️
The pencil thin tie rods at 10:07 smh 😂😂😂😂😂😂🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
I love how 33k is considered cheap.... everything is relative.
That rocky road should be called, “Colorado Rocks” and the place where Tommy got stuck should be called, “Rick Rolled”
It looked like the TC did a pretty good job with timing and how much slip it allowed. I do not like how far the suspension hangs down at the tire there.
One thing I noticed about all these shootouts ... (and others on RUclips). All the vehicles are pretty equal really, to me. Everything will have its pro and cons, but they all performed equally ... pretty cool adding the FJ. People have to just figure out if they are Jeep or Bronco ... or FJ people. Which is attractive to you. And then that's also the fun part... modding. Adjusting things (parts) to fix those little inconsistencies. Also with regards to the head Bob, or getting thrashed around a bit ... isn't that really part of why we dig wheeling? Isn't that part of the allure. If I wanted smooth, I'd go for a drive in my car ... "HOLY CRAP! I ALMOST HIT THE ROOF!"
That 2.3 has proven itself. Its in the rangers, mustangs and focus rs.
Didn't it blow up in a good number of the focus RS?
2.3 They are great engines Ford builds awesome vehicles!!
If the Jeep is geared too high, use 4Lo more often especially in a manual. 3dr gear 4Lo is a pretty close final speed to 1st gear 4Hi, plus you can quickly use 2nd gear 4Lo when you need it.
The Jeep for sure. The Bronco is hideous looking, and steel wheels for over $30K??? No way!
I like the steelies! Definitely needs bigger wheels though.
Spoken like a daft jeep fan boy. Enjoy the shop lol
I love your Willys Tommy, but I've got a bum L knee and need an auto. The visibility from inside the FJ doesn't work for me. I'd go with the Bronco. Great video, guys.
2.3 is a proven. Been around a while in the EcoBoost Mustang.
love the concept of this... but the most dealership obstacle courses are more challenging. dig them holes deeper and flood the track!!!
love the Base just wish it had locking diffs
You can get base sas
Base 4dr Sasquatch with 2.3/10 speed and aux switches is 42K. That’s one heck of a value.
On MOST cheaper-optioned 4x4 vehicles, the deciding factor will ALWAYS BE THE TIRES! The Jeep SHOULD win by a landslide due to its waaaaay superior tires BUT that cheap Bronco held its own! I just saw some Goodyear Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar set of four tires for only $620 USD ($788 CDN). That means for less than $1000 (included installation and taxes!) you could MATCH the Jeep in off-road tire grip ability!
That said, I actually like Tommy's Jeep Willy much more than the cheap Bronco. The Jeep looks better and seems more off-roady while the Bronco seems a tad detuned and too much comfort added in!
If I had to pick between ONLY these two vehicles, the Jeep Willy wins my heart!
V
Cheapest 4Runner vs jeep vs bronco please!
love a 4runner but the cheapest SR5 is $37,700 and only 2wd. Toyota should have never axed the FJ
@@providentpathfinders219 i meant for the cheapest 4x4 4Runner.
Base Bronco for me
@@enerim19looks like base Sr5 4x4 is $39,500.
I’d take the Bronco in a heartbeat. Not because it’s the new hotness. But because it looks like it was designed to be good on road and off road. After all, most people spend most - if not all - their driving on road.
I’d have to go with the Jeep. It’s proved it’s self since 1941!
jeeps/chrysler are garbage dude
1941 jeep was the Ford Jeep ie gp
Pssssst, Dale....Ford made most of those Jeeps.
🤔hmm then why don’t they call em fords?
I’m a wrangler person but competition is good. If it pushes jeep to be better that’s great. The love for the wrangler means it’s not going anywhere .
I think when you guys do these videos comparing certain vehicles you need to make sure they have at minimum the same exact tires because tires are one of the main things that make a vehicle capable off-road and also it would be nice if they were both 4 door or 2 door but it just goes to show how good a base bronco is on street tires is but yes you guys need to have sets of off-road tires and cheap steel rims that fit multiple lug nut patterns so you can easily throw on the tires on the same 2 vehicles
The Jeep came with those tires for $3000 less so they should add more money to the Bronco to make it compare?
@@TheRamGuy The Bronco has 4 doors. Either way it's apples to oranges.
@@TheRamGuy You could do a Big Bend 2 door that comes with the 7 speed manual and 32" A/T tires and a locking rear diff for the same price as that base model 4 door.
It would have been $4,000 cheaper with a 2-door. My 2023 2-door ManSAS with aux switches, door keypad and rack that I reserved July of 2020 was 43,600 sticker price. I found a great dealer that offered 1,000 under invoice and with Fords discount I got it for $36,100. It pays to find an honest dealer.
Jeep is the best in the off-road domain no doubt. But, it's good that there is some nice competition from other brands, so the best can become even better!
Best ? I thought Bronco with smaller 13 inch street tyres and no limited slip differential performed as good with better ride and comfort also it has more features and better interior , for me the base Bronco takes the win for best of both worlds
@@davejones9860 It doesn't have Jeep's heritage or history though. It's not as emblematic as the Wrangler. The Bronco is just another SUV that's also capable off-road, slightly better than the Defender-pretender or the land cruiser. Won't even mention the G-Class-barbie car-"I own a night club"-car.
@@piemar97 looks you forgot the title "Baja Bronco " if you think Bronco doesn't has heritage or history , this is the most dumbest thing I have ever heard that Bronco is just "another suv " which other suv can take the top off with both good high and low speed off-road capabilities other than bronco ??
Jeep Wrangler is the better vehicle on and off road actually.
@@piemar97 That heritage and history is now owned by a Netherland Chinese company 😂. Ford remains the most American brand at the moment. Bronco does have heritage you just don't know 🤷♂️
I will take the Jeep because I have the same wrangler JL. If I had an extra one I’d give it to David! Love that dude! He’s the best!
Jeep did slightly better when bigger aggressive tires were needed and can I say, Tommy's starting to sound like his dad a bit :)
Imagine that. A son sounding like his father. Who would have figured on that?
More power, better seats, more room, more comfortable driving on road bronco hands down. And it’s a perfect base to mod.
I have to say I would pick the Bronco. I do like the jeeps, but I always hit my head on that sound bar that is above the front seats. That is the main reason I stay away from the wrangler.
I am 6' 4" and the soundbar is behind my head. Maybe you rode in an older Jeep
I'll put my suggestion in again to name the obstacle where Tommy got stuck twice as Trepidation Trench.
Man, these prices are ridiculous. I got my 2019 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk loaded with pretty much every option (except the better headlights) in 2019 for about $35k.
Nice deal that was
The Wrangler's shorter wheelbase definitely gave it an advantage in the Holes test -- it didn't get a single wheel lifted. Kept contact with the ground the whole time.
But, really, both of these vehicles are very similar in their off-road capabilities. The Bronco comes with a few more creature comforts, but costs about $3K more. If it were a 2-door, like the Jeep, the cost difference would be even less (don't quote me, but I think the 4-door is $2K more than the 2-door?) Either way, these two vehicles are very well-matched when you compare similarly-priced options. The competition between the Jeep and the Bronco will improve both of them over time. It's truly wonderful for off-road enthusiasts!
