@@rosieking383 do you mind if I ask you a question?
If not, did you see his video on my you tube channel or does someone else have his video using it?
The only reason I ask is that it has gotten a lot of views and I would think that if someone was see in it on my you tube channel that they would also want to watch the one of him singing.
He just loved to sing and it is very sweet to watch and listen to. But yeah I was just wondering if someone else is using his video. Thank you again and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. ❤️

I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Merley! I know how heart breaking it is to loose a fur baby as I have lost three yorkies over the years and it still makes me so sad. Could you possibly put a picture of your homemade doggie wheelchair without the doggie- looking down from the top so we could see how the straps are placed? I would so appreciate it as my daughter yorkie has a pinched nerve in her front left leg and a slipped disk. She needs to learn to walk all over again. Thank You So Much

I just used velcro and some inside shoe cushions for comfort but he also wore a diaper that helped with the cushion.
I can't take his wheelchair out because I have everything of his put away.
I do appreciate your comment, yes it was awful and very painful to lose my son as I know you know.
I hope you are able to make one, it really wasn't that hard. I just measured him both length and width and made it a little longer and wider. I used rollerblade wheels on the rear after the video because it moved a lot easier. In the front I used wheels like would go on a lightweight dresser or something like that.
I'm sorry I didn't see this message earlier but you tube don't let me know when I get a comment.

Just saw your comment. For so.e reason I don't get notifications. But It Is actually very simple. It is all made with pvc pipe, wheels that would go under an office chair and I changed the back wheels to roller blade wheels that way they had a bearing in them and it is a lot easier for him to get going and enjoy him self even more. Thank you for you interest and watching his video. Did you happen to watch the one where he is singing? I love him more then words can say.

Kim Sikorski, I’m sorry for your loss. I am very inspired by your video. I’m not that handy but would like to try to build something similar for my Cooper who is 17+ years old. His legs are weak so I would like to give him some support. Would you mind telling me what the diameter is of the PVC pipe and how you attached what looks to be swivel caster wheels? Thank you.

    • @kimsikorski5691

@@margaretl.4935 It depends on how heavy your special boy is. Merley moo was 3 pounds so I used I'm pretty sure 1/2 inch pvc pipe but it might have been 1/4 inch pvc pipe but I just measured him so I could get the length and width. The caster wheels I put dowrod up inside the connector of the pvc pipe and drilled a hole then pushed the metal part of the caster wheel up into the wood.
Not to long after that video I put roller blade wheels on the back to make it alot smoother and easier for him. I have all of his special stuff put away and Im not able to look really at to much of his stuff with out losing it.
I miss him so much and thank you for your kind words and I hope you are able to build one for you little baby. God bless 💞

It’s PERFECT!!! My dog is 14 years old, Baby (little black Pomeranian) and this would be perfect for her! She and I share the same pain almost exactly.
Both our neck, shoulders, hips, ankles and knees hurt! Become swollen, and stiff, it becomes a struggle. I can still walk around being only 40 years young!! Lol
But ...Baby falls, stumbles and it’s heartbreaking!!! I pick her up from now and then (...when I MYSELF, have to ability that day) (back and neck) ...we also both wear a brace.
How did you make it! Well I’m definitely going to try it! Thanks for sharing this clip. Go go go!!! Little yorkie!

I just made it by how big he was and went a couple inches loner and wider out of PVC pipe and caster wheels but then put Rollerblade wheels on the back because they had bearings in them which made it much easier to move. I used velcro to hold his weight because he didn't weigh much but had pads on them and he wore a diaper because he loved to pee and he would know when he would get it out and go have a lot of fun. Lol
But unfortunately I lost my sweet boy in January. It's been really hard. I hope this will be able to help your little loved on.
      God bless 🙏😇🙏

We’re at that point where her quality of life has gone down dramatically without mobility so some hard decisions can’t be put off much longer to see how she does. Jennifer Gordon unfortunately my little one didn’t take to it. I did build it and it was easy to do! I don’t regret it for a second because I know I tried absolutely everything for her before she gave up. And she really did let me know she was done. She had spunk and fight in her for quite a while but there came a point when you could tell she was done and just didn’t want to anymore. She had a great last day where she ate a big juicy cheeseburger and relaxed in the sun outside with me and we opted to give her a sedative at the appointment as well. So she went very peacefully and that’s all I wanted for her. I guess my take away is do it. Try it, but when their done, as much as it hurts, give them that last gift if that’s what they’re communicating that they want. Good luck ❤️

You can buy they plumbing at Lowe's or Manards. Probably any home improvement store.
Use bigger plumbing for a bigger dog and this size for a smaller dog. Works just as good as a few $100 wheel chair that you would have to buy special made.

I need one of these for my pit mix that was born with cerebellar hypoplasia. He's good about running around outside, but can't do much inside because of the smooth surfaces (tile and hardwood floors). Do you have plans/instructions to make this wheelchair?

    • @kimsikorski5691
      @kimsikorski5691  3 года назад

I'm sorry to hear about your special one. When I made the wheel chair I just made it by my head. I just went to Lowes and or Manards to buy the plumbing that I needed and just measured how wide he was and long he was. I ended up using roller blade wheels on the back because it made it a lot smoother with them having wheel bearings in them. Being your special boy is a lot heavier then my little Merley Moo was I would say you could use the metal plumbing to hold his weight and if you have the money you could even buy aluminum tubing to make it some what lighter.
I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner but YT don't let me know when I get a comment on any of Merley Moos videos.
I hope this is able to help a little if you haven't already figured out how to make one.
But they also make slip on rubber sock/shoes that you could buy to put on him that would give him grip on your floors. That would also be a great thing to try.
I hope all goes well. God bless 🙏💞🙏

    • @kimsikorski5691
      @kimsikorski5691  3 года назад

To be honest I had no plans I just measured him to get the length but went a little longer then what he was and made it about 2 inches on each side but I used PVC pipe like you would use for water lines. They make all different sizes of PVC and this was the smallest that they had. I used wheels like would be in a chair that turns and then replaced the rear wheels with Rollerblade wheels because they had bearings in them which made it a lot easier for him to move it
For to hold him up I took velcro that was sticky on one side and stuck it to the PVC pipe then used other velcro to go from one side to the other so it would support his weight. I had one in the front and one in the back. Then I put something soft between them so it wouldn't hurt his stomach.
But he also wore a diaper most of the time because with all of his health problems he loved to pee. I don't think the health problems to be this way, he just really enjoyed peeing. Lol. So this way he got to pee all he wanted with out making a mess. But I lost my special boy in January and still miss him so much today. I hope you are able to make one for your special boy.
      God bless 🙏💞🙏

How do you determine specific height needed per dog? And what did you use for a sling? I have a tiny 4lb yorkie poo that has weakness in all 4 limbs but can still somewhat use them. Balance is his issue so if he can be held up right, he could walk. When he falls, he cannot get, himself back up. I need to make the sling cushioned and comfortable for him even if all he can do is stand in it and not walk. All he does now is lay dawn. This is our last resort at quality of life. He deserves this chance.

I'm sorry about your little one. You tube never gives me a heads up when someone messages on his videos. But when I made the wheel chair /walker I just did it all out of my head and my brain never stops.
But you want the chair to hold them up a tad because like your little one my little Merley Moo has issue also with not have the strength in his legs due to a lot of health issues. But I took the pic pipe and just dry fitted every thing and made it longer or taller and just cut it down what it should be to be what he needed.
They make a lot of really nice wheel chair / walkers that you can purchase but they cost quite a bit of money but it I had the money I would have spent it in a heart beat.
But they make them adjustable for the height and the length.
But if you have to make one like I did just make it a little longer and taller and put it together and cut off what you need to cut off
But what I used for the sling are those velcro strip so I could adjust the height from the floor and how much weight would be on his legs. Then I had them covered with pads that people put in their shoes to make it soft but where he wears a diaper it helped a lot also with the comfort.
I hope your little one is still doing ok and if you need anymore information just hit the like button and you tube will let me know of someone likes something but not a message. You tube is kinda goofy. Lol
