These are really unusual homes. Love the grass roofed ones and the one you have to be a member to get to. Love the terrain on the member one. Personally I would choose to live in NH on Lake Wiinne or Squam Lake. They build houses on islands there and the water level doesn’t change so they can build and have built right on the water’s edge. They drive across the lake when frozen and boat when thawed. GORGEOUS!!!!!
@jonnbravo119806 It was AMAZING! The furniture was dated (of course) but every room was breathtaking and the views from every room (since it was basically all windows!) was one in a million.
My favorites were the homes of Iceland with the grass roofs and also the self sustaining homes where you grow your own garden inside and have walls made out of colored bottles. I'd love living in either one. Loved the video! Thanks for sharing it with us!
1:26 How can you have a segment about this famous house and not state its name? It's called Fallingwater. What you don't say is that the owner asked for a house with views of the waterfall, but Wright, going against those instructions, built it *over* that waterfall. Unsurprisingly, damp was a problem and the owners always had to have buckets about the place to catch the... falling water.
Number 22 is wrong. That is on the the susquehanna river in the susquehanna valley in PA. I've driven past it. Before the house was built, children would come on boats across the river from the town of Marietta to swim in the waterfall and its pond below. When the house was built, they had to stop.
yeah. My great grandfather lived in that town all his life. He used to go there was a kid. The funny thing is he is in a book about the town where he talks all about it. Its a limited run from a couple years ago that's over 1100 pages that goes through everything from notable members to presidential visits to crimes and even the town hauntings(but they didn't cover all. that town has to be one of the most haunted in the state. A friend who lives there heard a guitar playing in her room. Her dad grabbed his shotgun and slowly went up and checked. No one was there. My little cousin would see a union soldier in her house as a kid. she knew things that she should have not known. There is a supposed picture of an angel on top of a bar, a Bed and breakfast has multiple haunts. don't even get me started about the creepy ass forest. Across the river near the falls, a massive house that is at least 150 years old is haunted by the spirits of two teens. The boy murdered the girl when she rejected him and he was hung on the property. My grandmother and one of my aunts saw a man in a tophat walk through the door, I mean THROUGH the door, like through the wood, into the ladies bathroom at one of the towns bars. I didn't even get to the extinct species of bigfoot up here called that have been sighted by native americans for centuries, the multiple romeo and juliet stories, indian killings, the caped man(which I saw before). It's a creepy and old town. over 200 years old if i remember correctly.
Wow, that's wild! Thanks for the response, very interesting! My dad lived in Massachusetts and apparently, there was a lot of scary stuff going on in the woods there. He saw indians a lot apparently. I laughed at "don't even get me started on the creepy ass forest" lmao
From Virgina/West Virginia and up seems like its all just a paranormal hotspot. There is the old house woods in Virginia which is supposed to be the craziest haunted forest in the world(I am talking about flying pirate ships, headless dogs, glowing orbs, buried treasure, phantom british armies, skeletons looking for treasure, screaming. Everything you can think of). Gettysburg, Marietta, and basically the entirety of PA, Mass has a bunch of hauntings as well. All the supposed sightings of weird ass creatures in the mountains. It's just crazy how much of this stuff there is in this area. I think PA and the virginias are the biggest hotbeds though.
Friend... Sorry, not sure if you got the number of the house wrong.... but #22 is definitely not near Marietta. Wikipedia and Google Maps show it about 13 miles due east of Uniontown in SW Penn. Densely surrounded by forest, on a tributary to the Youghiogheny River.
I love number one but if you get too much rain fall your looking at major damage and possible total loss of your home?. I’d raise it up another 2-3 feet?.
It's a cool location. We live about an hour south from the location (a boat trip to Boldt Castle takes you past it on a tour. On the day we passed this house, there was a little lawn chair next to the front door.. Incidentally, there is no tide on the St. Lawrence River.. it is AT LEAST 400 miles from the Atlantic Ocean, so tides do not affect it. There are a bunch of small islands (1 acre or less - to define the smaller ones) with singles houses, but this one is great!
I'm actually amazed from this video. Coming from an Islander, all houses around here are almost all the same local and real-down local. But these are uniques! Thanks :)
how about some secluded villages in the Himalayas? like Komik for axample... the highest village that connected with motorable road... only about 150 people live in those villages they definetelly deserve to be in the list!!!
Number 8 is not far from where I live, I can go find these tree houses and make a video if anyone is interested. I already plan to goto Matlock this weekend it’s just past there
The house on the island in the St. Lawrence river is the one I'd choose, I saw it when I was in NY state back in 2000. The house has a magnificent 360 degree view around it and is accessible via boat only. Very nice!
I’ve stayed at the Comfort Inn in Coober Pedy, it’s absolutely amazing! They dig out more rooms every now and then and the opals they find usually pay for it all. If you ever come to Australia it’s worth a visit 🇦🇺💜
I'm pretty sure the people living there now wouldn't like to be called demons... The Netherlands has seen a rapid dechristianisation, and now it's only 4% that strongly believe. Immigrants will bring their religion with them, usually islam, but the new generations tend to not care about it more often then not.

I like Iceland's homes with the lawn roofs!! They can be found in Norway, too.

Sod roofs are a Scandinavian tradition. Modern earth berm or underground homes in general have a small following

Do these homes ever end up with bug and insect infestations?? How do they prevent it?
Yes. When it comes mountain cabins a grass roof is practically mandatory 😂

I live about 20 minutes away from #22. It's a sight to behold. You can actually walk through it during a visit.
Von Sterner I'm not far from there either
Von Sterner iceland's homes

I live close to there too! :)

Definitely like the house made of rock..solid, sound-proof, weather-proof - real nice.

I like the homes with grass for the roofs. Cool temperatures year round and just a beautiful part of the landscape
the picture (08:44) is not in matmata it's in Douiret, a ruined Berber village in the Tataouine district in southern Tunisia.
thanks for the video

President pretty good home country beautiful awesome adventure great 👍 excellent @
0:11 why are you walking in the stream when theres prefectly good rock shore
to show that the boots are waterproof....?
Pretty darn cool..gives ideas for homes to be built
Instead of flashing a cheesy and idiotic caption there on the bottom left, why not display the name and location of the building?
For real! Lol
Because these are people's homes. Can you imagine someone posting pictures and address of your house on RUclips?
Because the producers of this are here to make money, and not here to waste time doing research to inform you.
Houses on small islands are the best
Amazing beautiful gorgeous

Nicely and the house is clean
I’d like #1. Surrounded by water-nothing better!
Wow amazing.
2:22 a home made of stone and bullet proof glass they called it a holiday home lol.
Waterfall house is amazing Cave house that would be cool. Cool houses

St. Lawrence is a regulated seaway for international shipping so water doesn't vary as you'd think
Narrative is wrong, there is no tide in that part of the St Lawrence River.

Star Wars A New Hope did not come out in the 60's, it came out in the mid 70's.
Anthony Mann 1977 to be exact.

OK,, then I will hide at your place ..
Amazing 😉
There's no tides in the 1000 islands (# 1 home) you'd have to go some 450 km (300 mi.) east of here down the St Lawrence before you would see tides.
Andrew the Celt Are they perhaps confusing the fact that it’s a river which has naturally varying levels?
Andrew the Celt spectacular sliding doors
The St Lawrence in full flood mode is not something to tangle with!
there has been 4 tides since 1967
maybe they meant when the rivers flowing down stream because when the rivers going down stream that's when the waters highest where I'm at anyways
very interesting, specially the last... if you really trying to avoid neighbors... hehehe

A flying home, best ever!
An old church as a home. Imagine the demons in there
interesting that is nothing new seen a television show that featured a few converted churches most are in the united states as well
I'm pretty sure the people living there now wouldn't like to be called demons...

SNOOpi DoOPs!
Finally, a church is put into something useful.
Don't mind if they repurpose an old church but why tear it down?
thank you for all the adds
The sound of the water fall is going to drive u nuts in no time
Nick jason: I thought the same thing..and the vibration from the water.
I live in forest with waterfall just outside my door it's nice and you don't notice it after a while
I have to pee.
I'm already nuts so it don't matter! I can join in with the racket with my singing and drum bashing! The waterfall associated humidity is a bit of a problem of course!
Naw, you just get used to it.
