I can say or make sound
ㅔ as in A
ㅝ as in wall (WA)coz I find the sound of wall quite similar to ㅝ
I don't know if I am right or no Im just trying 😥😅

I'm sure duolingo has the exact same sound samples for these pairs! But they expect me to get it right by hearing. the difference betweenㅐand ㅔ is the same difference between é and ê in portuguese, NOW I get it. I can't believe people ended up pronouncing them equally, they are completely defferent!

Your father and aunt are so nice to help you with the pronunciations. It really helps to see the way the mouth moves when pronouncing the vowel sounds and diphthongs. Out of curiosity, your father elongated some of the vowel sounds (compared to your aunt). Is he doing that for the sake of the video or is it a dialect pronunciation style?
Learn Korean Ah. Okay. I figured as much but wanted to make sure. I’ve watched and listened to a few videos where people speak with a Satoori accent and wondered if your father had it. 😅

You're what linguists would call a prescriptivist 😂 i.e. you think language should be a certain way only. Language changes occur all the time. Sometimes these changes stay, sometimes they come and go like fashion. Language change is a natural phenomenon, like the merging of sounds. e.g. old English vowels sound very different to modern English - there was the great vowel shift and merging of vowel sounds. Language change is simply the beauty of language evolution

Can someone please clarify? I had a hard time distingushing 웨 and 외. They sound quite similar to me. I mean, how do you work your mouth to pronounce 외 without making it sound like 왜 or 웨?
I'm a bit too late, but as the creator of this video states herself, in daily Korean there's no real distinction between those sounds. You can pronounce them the same, even tho in "old" Korean there was supposed to be subtle distinctions.

The difference between the first two sounds is the same as open and closed “e” in Italian (my native language) so it’s clear for me. You don’t differentiate them well, you pronounce “ae” correctly, while the other sound you just pronounce it the same but with pursed lips and it’s not how it’s supposed to be pronounced. You make it sound kind of like the French vowel of “cœur”, while your parents pronounce it just like the Italian closed “e”. There is no lip rounding, not even slightly, quite the opposite: the lips should be even more stretched than when you say “ae”. The position of the tongue is somewhat closer to that of when you pronounce “i”, it’s more raised towards the roof of the mouth compared to when you say “ae”.
