    Fear is real and unavoidable and it is part of our survival instinct. But we need to overcome by facing it and accepting that whatever emotion happens is in the brain.

    I am a 15 year old girl who has developed a fear of books and reading after having 2 traumatic experiences of studying.. firstly all throughout the pandemic I didn't studied much which caused me to lose my grip on my studies. Then when the pandemic ended and when I tried to study seriously, I just couldn't read and comprehend properly, this caused anxiety and fear in my mind since then. Secondly, when I was struggling to read, a former friend bullied me for trying too much to study.. she teased me and mocked me for being too studious.. this incident affected me adversely and since them whenever I go near books by brain just shuts off... Please give me a solution to this🙏

      Hi there,
      I've been through something similar so here's what I'd say:
      Grab a pen.
      Grab a paper.
      And get to work - preferably in your own space where no one will be around to tease or distract you.
      Now pick up that book. For every line or sentence that strikes you... or for any concept you wish to remember or make sense of - write it down. It doesn't have to be word for word; you don't have to get it immediately. But what this does is condition the brain and make it pay attention to what is before you and get those cognitive processes churning. It's like manually starting a rusty stubborn gear before it gets to the point where it becomes self-sustaining.
      Writers who complain of writers block utilise this technique as well.
      No, it won't be easy.
      Sometimes... it can even hurt trying to summon the willpower to convince your brain to humble itself and focus, blocking out other attractive thoughts.
      Sometimes you might even find that you have to go through this process anytime you wish to activate "study mode", or you might grow out of requiring it. But it's definitely worth it - I should know.

      Hi, the key is to to keep going even if your brain stuffs up. Then your brain will learn nothing bad actually happens when u read. It will take many attempts but it will learn eventually not to fear it.

      Social anxiety is something that happens to a lot of people, so don't feel bad about it. Could you reach out to someone for professional help? It's important to educate yourself on this situation, because it could escalate to social isolation and that might make you feel worse. Take care. 😊

      Humans think we have a brain, but in reality, the brain has us. Meaning, our actions are created by the subconscious mind, so we have to make our own minds our best friend. When we experience something bad physically or when we hear negative voices we should talk to our mind in a friendly manner and say something like: ok brain, I know you're not feeling so good now, I can feel you are uncomfortable now, But, let's get through this together. Let's work together and not feel scared of this situation, because we will be ok. 😊

    • @GloryDaze73
      @GloryDaze73 Месяц назад +2

      It's a very normal thing to care about people's opinion. It is more important to look inside yourself and understand who you are and to accept your character. If you strive towards being a better quality person, then you will feel more secure in yourself....and over a period of time you will learn that not everybody's opinion of you matters.

      I can't imagine that type of fear....that is very serious. Does your school have a security protocol or maybe home schooling a few days a week is an option. Don't neglect your school work just because some psychopath is causing you fear. You have to stay strong and continue your education. Education is a very important thing for our future, don't let someone take it away.
