Never played a fury warrior before Wrath (I started as a ret paladin just after Sunwell came out in BC, until Wrath and made a dk and been maining a dk since and will also main him in Shadowlands) so my first time playing Classic (essentially my Vanilla lol) and it is awesome so far. In my experience the real diffrence in multi-target rotation is if i have Wbuffs or not. If WB im always ragecapped and can just spend and go ham, but if not i like to go WW -> Cleave -> BS. Unless there is a very specific target that needs attention (hatchers in supress going down to slow etc). Really like your content mate! I´d love for you to do a commentary video over a BWL/AQ run. Explaining and discussing choices in rotation and playstyle.
No doubt - I must admit i'm rarely doing BWL / mc without any wbuffs at all. But you should see my rotation prio on aoe as such: WW > BS > Cleave You wanna keep ww + bs on cd constantly and do cleaves with "extra" rage. I was kinda in doubt whether to put BS or cleave first - but I meant to use BS for priority targets such as hatchers etc. Very happy to hear that - would you like to see commentary of other players? Or myself and my warrior :P?
@@DamnboiTV Meant as in commentary on specific packs in raids. In my experience from puging and raiding semi-HC on 2 different warriors alot of guilds/raids treat certain encounters and trashpacks very different. It would be nice to have some sort of discussion on specific packs and/or bosses and how to adapt as a warrior. Most guides atm focus on gear and consumes, very little on actual gameplay. To many guides end up being perfect in a theoretical vacum, but not that many in pratice.
Ah i see - so the way people speedrun etc? Different approaches on each bosses? Such as firemaw - some people use the gate and somebody place him in the middle of the "open" door so to speak.
@@sage798 maybe im not intune with the mechanics fully.. but sunder armours from warrior dps wouldnt it just mean more threat on to those dps warriors. Sunder armour causes threat too right. Isnt it better just for the tank to do it ? Thats what im thinking. Or doesnt it really matter in the scheme of things.
@@chilledgamezone4950 sunder isn't the best threat. Whatever your keystone talent is (mortal strike, shield slam or bloodthirsty) is the best threat. In raid you have lots of warriors and if they all sunder once you get instant 5 stacks of sunder, making them all do more damage and threat for the whole raid
Hmm, not sure about the single target rotation. Generally Bloodthirst > Heroic Strike > Whirlwind, the reason being that when your attack in a Heroic Strike instead of an auto attack it cannot glance. Over the duration of a boss encounter that really adds up.

How would you play fury in PVP? I dont care that Arms is seen as the superior pvp option, i want to play fury but cant find any tips about pvp using it.

All the fury warriors in my guild have the same gear about, but some of the furys do so much better than the other furys even when they're all world buffed. What can account for this? Are some of these players just playing more aggressively?
If you look into the logs for your guild you can see the length of each of the fights and calculate how many bloodthirsts / whirlwinds they should have been able to do in that timespan. You'll probably find that people doing less dps are missing bloodthirsts/WW and not doing them right on cooldown due to dumping to much rage on accident or whatever. And if you look at people doing more dps you'll see they are getting more BT and WW casts or better cleave damage where applicable! Hope it helps!

In normal classic that was required because of only having 32 buffslots i believe it was, I think in SOM now you have unlimited right? :) ( i dont play wow anymore)

I like your fury warrior guide, about the macro for bloodthirst "cancelaura bloodthirst". surely you only need this if your raiding and fully buffed with WB as well, as you wont hit any buff cap slot ouside a raid? or am i missing something.
For AoE, it seems Cleave > Bloodthirst if you don't have rage for both. I'd love to see some math on why/how, but this is just from my experience. So the order should be WW > Cleave > BT. Also wish you included the Vael HS/Execute one button macro.

Maybe there is a breakpoint like with execute at 2k ap. Also might be interesting to look at when it is worth it to swap to a 2h for cleaving

Bro I have 2x same 1h equiped and when I switch to def stance and equip shield to use shield and when I switch back to fight stance it wont equip the other 1h and the shield stays on. Here's the macros I made : Battle # Equipslot 16 1h Equipslot 17 The other 1h *Same name* Def # Equipslot 16 1h Equipslot 17 Shield When I go back to battle the shield stays on. Any advice ?
The link with using Bloodthirst over execute also states that you should only prioritise BT>exe if you have 2k ap AND 30 rage or more. At 10 rage, you would need 4000 ap to match execute rage efficiency, the rage efficiany of execute ofc scales down and by 30 rage it's halved

My main problem is getting HS queuing down. Other warriors in my guild have a far lower miss % than I do. It seems hard to do with two slow weapons that are about the same speed (Deathbringer and Brutality Blade) I dont know how much it is affected by batching either.
Cancelling is easier with slower weapons, not harder. If you're horde, you're MH and OH will automatically get de-synced because of windfury. On ally its admittedly a bigger deal (but DB and brute blade aren't close enough in speed to make cancelling too hard)
Hey bud, In raids when worldbuffs you're better off never cancelling your HS'. Its around 1 % dps increase if you do it 100% correct otherwise you'll actually lose dps. Also are you playing horde or alliance? As alliance it is not advised to have two weaps of the same speed because: "If an OH attack finishes at the same time as the MH queue'd attack it does not gain benefit. This is why same speed weapons on alliance are less favorable; horde have their weapons desync frequently via Windfury and thus are less penalized."
hey newb here .. started playing in classic. i do have decent gear for where i am at .. i am in a guild that is starting to complain i need to get my dps up .. i am use to ever quest where i button mash a lot of buttons i do and dneed macros i will copy these.,. i need to get a list of all other macros needed. and add ons please. they are saying i am parsing bad ! and i saw it i am i am always under 20 and i have no clue what im doing wrong. no one says anything and i have a RL friend that plays and is helpin me but he is a druid and always just says he doesnt warrir .. so cdan i get some help please thanks. to the point where ill just stop playing due to i cannot figure it out correctly

Has anyone taken the time to go through Marrows Compendium and checked the uptimes for Flurry shown in the compendium? If those values are to be believed, I should have a flurry uptime of above 80% with 43% crit, but the uptime is at 62% (as seen in my logs). Does anyone know why?

For me it's 1-2 mobs BS>WW>HS more than 3 mobs WW>Cleave>BS, unless i'm getting too much aggro, then i let cleave rest for a bit and finish up the lowest mob that's on me
Had to dislike the video, you didnt talk about queing up your heroic strike. Which means when you do you wont miss alot of attacks. Its very important warriors know about this trick!
Well thats just rude :O - its a rotation & macros guide. Also every warrior will be queueing heroic strike automatically if they follow my rotation so its kinda not needed. :)

There are much more important things you should think about during an encounter that will benefit your damage output.”
DamnboiTV mmm alright I thought queing up that heroic strike really was a key thing to do. Definitely if you are a new warrior with maybe no weapon skill or when you dont have yourself hitcapped. I heard this trick from a guy at Progress, he told me that they mostly are using heroic strike just to not miss those attacks and lose rage.

The hamstring applys as well for the alliance. Not only you get WF procs from it but also FLURRY if it crits. So it is important for both faction warriors to use hamstring to drop the rage that HS can't.

I almost never use Bloothirst in my rotation in the supression room, only to dump rage. Whirlwind and cleave is my main prio and im allways top dps on that part. Been taking a break from wow the few last weeks but if i go back to playing again i will try the rotation you listed here for even more dps ^^ The macros is the same as i use, except i don`t use the cancelaura for Bloodthirst and other buffs, will add thoose to my macros aswell!

Hey bud, haha I guess thats pretty easy - if you're right below the tank on threat stop attacking :P. There's not much you can do other than that - a second thing you can do is pop a lip and pray the lord that the boss dies within those 6 seconds. If you want your tanks to become better - well my first suggestion is they prepop flask + dw before each boss (when possible ofc).

you say bloodthirst > execute over 2k AP but you're gonna have to wait for 30 rage after an execute to do it or you're gonna have over 30 rage in the first place - doesn't sound worth it
Hey man, That is correct - you will only be using BS over execute if youre at 30 rage - so as you say yourself after a big execute you can do it etc. It will be higher dps pr. "rotation".

Questions: 1) From how many mobs do I want to use WW instead of BT? 2? 3? 4? 2) having a macro to use BRE/hand of rag instead of dual wielding, good idea, bad idea?
Depending on gear if you have a lot of AP with DW probably 3, if you're undergeared/alrightly geared, 2, a macro for that would be a good idea, however instead of BRE or Hand of rag unless you're ally (In which case use BRE as a warrior) use OEB or Ashkandi. For AOE 2hs are stronger than DW (Especially horde side)

Same ap = ~343 x 2 = 700 dmg with one ww on 2 targets. I have a macro to swap to my 2hander sure - but I dont use it for WW. Doubt it's worth the GCD when swapping weaps. Can I ask why you don’t advise Alliance to her hamstring in their rotation like Horde? Can’t it provide additional flurry procs and improve rage generation? Also, sims show that it is a dps increase when used.
Hey bud, Sure thing - it can but its not worth it. The reason hordes do it is for the windfury proc but even for hordes its very minor: 1-1.5 % dps increase. As for alliance you wont see any difference more or less.

I can say from my own experience and sharing this insight with my brother as he started raiding more seriously on his warrior, that we started using hamstring when we got to a threshold of rage where we didn't have to worry about not having enough rage for HS each swing, and have seen it provide additional flurry procs as it seems to crit fairly often, making me believe that it could provide additional rage generation. At least that is the effect it had for my brother, who said that he found he had much more rage on average once he began moving it into his rotation. Would you say that it's worth it if you're trying to min-max or even generate a more consistent amount of rage?
Of course - well thats a super good question that I do not know the answer too. As you might use aswell I tend to rely on the facts of Fightclub and i'm personally not a big math genius for all these sim calculations! But I could imagine it being good yea - but according to fightclubs its not gonna help you as alliance only horde :)

This is mine. One button solution instead of the 2 button solution you come across a lot more: #show Attack /equip [noequipped:Shield] Doom's Edge /equip [noequipped:Shield] Drillborer Disk /equipslot 16 Doom's Edge /equipslot 17 Frostbite Just swap out the name of my weapons and the name of the shield into the one´s you are using.

In AQ gear there is not a big issue of getting to 9% hit so use whatever weapon you get. Brutality blade is decent, CTS is the weapon of choice with 9%hit / edgemasters

If you play perfect crul mh and de oh is the best combo. However Deathbringer mh and crul oh is bis seeing that people don’t play picture-perfect. However the difference is minimal. If i’d have to prioritise 1 weapon it would be Crul as in phase 5 it’s the bis oh if you have the aq40 axe and is still a very viable mh choice if you don’t have that one yet

You’ll get to a threshold in your gear where you’re criting so much and generating so much rage that you’ll never be able to dump rage low enough to change stance to use Overpower and not waste rage.
Hey bud, As mayan gaming says it is yes - it is simply not worth it with DW + you have no 2/2 improved overpower either. As a horde with slam spec its a different story tho i could imagine :)

I completely agree with this guy. Whirlwind is low prio when dual wielding.
Never played a fury warrior before Wrath (I started as a ret paladin just after Sunwell came out in BC, until Wrath and made a dk and been maining a dk since and will also main him in Shadowlands) so my first time playing Classic (essentially my Vanilla lol) and it is awesome so far. I picked fury warrior because I like melee dps and this guide helped me out a lot. Much appreciated. Thanks and keep it up! :)

In my experience the real diffrence in multi-target rotation is if i have Wbuffs or not. If WB im always ragecapped and can just spend and go ham, but if not i like to go WW -> Cleave -> BS. Unless there is a very specific target that needs attention (hatchers in supress going down to slow etc). Really like your content mate! I´d love for you to do a commentary video over a BWL/AQ run. Explaining and discussing choices in rotation and playstyle.

@@DamnboiTV Meant as in commentary on specific packs in raids. In my experience from puging and raiding semi-HC on 2 different warriors alot of guilds/raids treat certain encounters and trashpacks very different. It would be nice to have some sort of discussion on specific packs and/or bosses and how to adapt as a warrior. Most guides atm focus on gear and consumes, very little on actual gameplay. To many guides end up being perfect in a theoretical vacum, but not that many in pratice.

Different approaches on each bosses? Such as firemaw - some people use the gate and somebody place him in the middle of the "open" door so to speak.

Isnt it better just for the tank to do it ? Thats what im thinking. Or doesnt it really matter in the scheme of things.
@@chilledgamezone4950 sunder isn't the best threat. Whatever your keystone talent is (mortal strike, shield slam or bloodthirsty) is the best threat. In raid you have lots of warriors and if they all sunder once you get instant 5 stacks of sunder, making them all do more damage and threat for the whole raid

Hmm, not sure about the single target rotation. Generally Bloodthirst > Heroic Strike > Whirlwind, the reason being that when your attack in a Heroic Strike instead of an auto attack it cannot glance. Over the duration of a boss encounter that really adds up.

There is also a macro which automatically changes pummel and shield bash and their proper stances if shield equipped

what does the /cancelaura commands do in the macro for bloodthirst mate?
It just removes the bloodthirst buff so you dont take up buffslots by having it on. (32 buff cap)

I couldn't ask questions on your disc channel. Maybe I missed it, but why do you want to add /startattack to all your casting macros? I thought you automatically started your autoattack when you used a warrior spell.
You just have to pick roles to write in the channels =).
You dont always no - thats why you do it for safety.
One thing that’s important to add for the horde rotation is that you will want to hamstring after an auto attack and not randomly.

All the fury warriors in my guild have the same gear about, but some of the furys do so much better than the other furys even when they're all world buffed. What can account for this? Are some of these players just playing more aggressively?
probably cooldown timings
If you look into the logs for your guild you can see the length of each of the fights and calculate how many bloodthirsts / whirlwinds they should have been able to do in that timespan. You'll probably find that people doing less dps are missing bloodthirsts/WW and not doing them right on cooldown due to dumping to much rage on accident or whatever. And if you look at people doing more dps you'll see they are getting more BT and WW casts or better cleave damage where applicable! Hope it helps!
uptime on a boss is also huge. A couple seconds difference can means thousands of damage.

In normal classic that was required because of only having 32 buffslots i believe it was, I think in SOM now you have unlimited right? :) ( i dont play wow anymore)

I like your fury warrior guide, about the macro for bloodthirst "cancelaura bloodthirst". surely you only need this if your raiding and fully buffed with WB as well, as you wont hit any buff cap slot ouside a raid? or am i missing something.
Correct - BCT addon removes bloodthirst now so it only works when in 40man raids.
For AoE, it seems Cleave > Bloodthirst if you don't have rage for both. I'd love to see some math on why/how, but this is just from my experience. So the order should be WW > Cleave > BT. Also wish you included the Vael HS/Execute one button macro.

@@DamnboiTV Yea that makes sense if there if is a big target and then little ones. I wonder how cleave and bloodthirst compare mathematically when there are two big targets. Maybe there is a breakpoint like with execute at 2k ap. Also might be interesting to look at when it is worth it to swap to a 2h for cleaving

No thats incorrect - above 2k ap always use BT during execute phase since its higher DPR (damage pr. rage)

Bro I have 2x same 1h equiped and when I switch to def stance and equip shield to use shield and when I switch back to fight stance it wont equip the other 1h and the shield stays on.

The link with using Bloodthirst over execute also states that you should only prioritise BT>exe if you have 2k ap AND 30 rage or more.
At 10 rage, you would need 4000 ap to match execute rage efficiency, the rage efficiany of execute ofc scales down and by 30 rage it's halved

My main problem is getting HS queuing down. Other warriors in my guild have a far lower miss % than I do. It seems hard to do with two slow weapons that are about the same speed (Deathbringer and Brutality Blade) I dont know how much it is affected by batching either.
Cancelling is easier with slower weapons, not harder.
If you're horde, you're MH and OH will automatically get de-synced because of windfury. On ally its admittedly a bigger deal (but DB and brute blade aren't close enough in speed to make cancelling too hard)
Hey bud,
In raids when worldbuffs you're better off never cancelling your HS'.
Its around 1 % dps increase if you do it 100% correct otherwise you'll actually lose dps.
Also are you playing horde or alliance?
As alliance it is not advised to have two weaps of the same speed because:
"If an OH attack finishes at the same time as the MH queue'd attack it does not gain benefit. This is why same speed weapons on alliance are less favorable; horde have their weapons desync frequently via Windfury and thus are less penalized."
hey newb here .. started playing in classic. i do have decent gear for where i am at .. i am in a guild that is starting to complain i need to get my dps up .. i am use to ever quest where i button mash a lot of buttons i do and dneed macros i will copy these.,. i need to get a list of all other macros needed. and add ons please. they are saying i am parsing bad ! and i saw it i am i am always under 20 and i have no clue what im doing wrong. no one says anything and i have a RL friend that plays and is helpin me but he is a druid and always just says he doesnt warrir .. so cdan i get some help please thanks.

Has anyone taken the time to go through Marrows Compendium and checked the uptimes for Flurry shown in the compendium? If those values are to be believed, I should have a flurry uptime of above 80% with 43% crit, but the uptime is at 62% (as seen in my logs). Does anyone know why?

I have not - but its RNG though - you can't trust the theory 100%. You'd have to take your average over the last months to get a proper statistical % - one raid is very unreliable to use :)

What about overpower
It's not worth when worldbuffed to swap stances and lose rage above 25 for an overpower to swap back =)
For me it's 1-2 mobs BS>WW>HS more than 3 mobs WW>Cleave>BS, unless i'm getting too much aggro, then i let cleave rest for a bit and finish up the lowest mob that's on me
Thats a way to do it aswell - i'd say if there is more than 2 mobs or more i'd always prefer WW > BS > Cleave

Had to dislike the video, you didnt talk about queing up your heroic strike. Which means when you do you wont miss alot of attacks. Its very important warriors know about this trick!

Also every warrior will be queueing heroic strike automatically if they follow my rotation so its kinda not needed. :)

Actually you need to play your character to the fullest for that to be true.
The estimated benefit from toggling HS in simulations is less than a 1% DPS upgrade without world buffs and less than a 0.1% DPS upgrade with. It is not worth the risk of accidently wasting your rage and delaying your next Bloodthirst if you don't unqueue HS at the right time or if a WF/HoJ proc catches you off guard. There are much more important things you should think about during an encounter that will benefit your damage output.”
DamnboiTV mmm alright I thought queing up that heroic strike really was a key thing to do. Definitely if you are a new warrior with maybe no weapon skill or when you dont have yourself hitcapped. I heard this trick from a guy at Progress, he told me that they mostly are using heroic strike just to not miss those attacks and lose rage.
Sure but canceling it is a bad idea. But if you know how to play it perfectly sure but the risk of fucking it up is so big versus not doing it :).

The hamstring applys as well for the alliance. Not only you get WF procs from it but also FLURRY if it crits. So it is important for both faction warriors to use hamstring to drop the rage that HS can't.

I almost never use Bloothirst in my rotation in the supression room, only to dump rage. Whirlwind and cleave is my main prio and im allways top dps on that part. Been taking a break from wow the few last weeks but if i go back to playing again i will try the rotation you listed here for even more dps ^^
The macros is the same as i use, except i don`t use the cancelaura for Bloodthirst and other buffs, will add thoose to my macros aswell!

But in between the WW's and cleaves you can easily get that BS in there ;D

The reason why you do that is because sometimes when you switch targets or the like your weapons stop attacking - i'm sure you've experienced it.

haha I guess thats pretty easy - if you're right below the tank on threat stop attacking :P.
There's not much you can do other than that - a second thing you can do is pop a lip and pray the lord that the boss dies within those 6 seconds.
If you want your tanks to become better - well my first suggestion is they prepop flask + dw before each boss (when possible ofc).

you say bloodthirst > execute over 2k AP but you're gonna have to wait for 30 rage after an execute to do it or you're gonna have over 30 rage in the first place - doesn't sound worth it

That is correct - you will only be using BS over execute if youre at 30 rage - so as you say yourself after a big execute you can do it etc.
It will be higher dps pr. "rotation".
execute does produce 120%threat of dmg so bt if applicable on execute phase would get an extra bonus if its higher dps

Questions:
1) From how many mobs do I want to use WW instead of BT? 2? 3? 4?
2) having a macro to use BRE/hand of rag instead of dual wielding, good idea, bad idea?
Depending on gear if you have a lot of AP with DW probably 3, if you're undergeared/alrightly geared, 2, a macro for that would be a good idea, however instead of BRE or Hand of rag unless you're ally (In which case use BRE as a warrior) use OEB or Ashkandi. For AOE 2hs are stronger than DW (Especially horde side)

I'd say at 2 more or more i'd do whirlwind first no matter what.
Quick personal test:
1076 ap = 484,2 BS dmg.
Same ap = ~343 x 2 = 700 dmg with one ww on 2 targets.
I have a macro to swap to my 2hander sure - but I dont use it for WW.
Doubt it's worth the GCD when swapping weaps.

Can I ask why you don’t advise Alliance to her hamstring in their rotation like Horde? Can’t it provide additional flurry procs and improve rage generation? Also, sims show that it is a dps increase when used.

Sure thing - it can but its not worth it.
The reason hordes do it is for the windfury proc but even for hordes its very minor: 1-1.5 % dps increase.
As for alliance you wont see any difference more or less.

I can say from my own experience and sharing this insight with my brother as he started raiding more seriously on his warrior, that we started using hamstring when we got to a threshold of rage where we didn't have to worry about not having enough rage for HS each swing, and have seen it provide additional flurry procs as it seems to crit fairly often, making me believe that it could provide additional rage generation. At least that is the effect it had for my brother, who said that he found he had much more rage on average once he began moving it into his rotation.
Would you say that it's worth it if you're trying to min-max or even generate a more consistent amount of rage?
Of course - well thats a super good question that I do not know the answer too.
As you might use aswell I tend to rely on the facts of Fightclub and i'm personally not a big math genius for all these sim calculations!
But I could imagine it being good yea - but according to fightclubs its not gonna help you as alliance only horde :)

I am not no - there is no point mentioning it - since if people follow the rotations they should be queueing it constantly with wbuffs.
As for q'ing and un-q'ing HS it is not worth it - see below:
The estimated benefit from toggling HS in simulations is less than a 1% DPS upgrade without world buffs and less than a 0.1% DPS upgrade with. It is not worth the risk of accidently wasting your rage and delaying your next Bloodthirst if you don't unqueue HS at the right time or if a WF/HoJ proc catches you off guard. There are much more important things you should think about during an encounter that will benefit your damage output.”

You can just Google it. I think you do equip weapon slot 16 then the weapon you want and do the same for slot 17
This is mine. One button solution instead of the 2 button solution you come across a lot more:

Just swap out the name of my weapons and the name of the shield into the one´s you are using.

Like explained its not worth using since the dps increase if you do it perfectly will only be tops 1% dps increase - if you fail tho it'll be a lot bigger in dps loss.

In AQ gear there is not a big issue of getting to 9% hit so use whatever weapon you get. Brutality blade is decent, CTS is the weapon of choice with 9%hit / edgemasters

If you play perfect crul mh and de oh is the best combo. However Deathbringer mh and crul oh is bis seeing that people don’t play picture-perfect. However the difference is minimal. If i’d have to prioritise 1 weapon it would be Crul as in phase 5 it’s the bis oh if you have the aq40 axe and is still a very viable mh choice if you don’t have that one yet

Is overpower out? I use it with a stance dance macro, but only when I have “low” rage
You’ll get to a threshold in your gear where you’re criting so much and generating so much rage that you’ll never be able to dump rage low enough to change stance to use Overpower and not waste rage.

As mayan gaming says it is yes - it is simply not worth it with DW + you have no 2/2 improved overpower either.
As a horde with slam spec its a different story tho i could imagine :)
