His parents gave him the best education. I read that education was his mom's priority, and his dad pushed for sports. Because of the emphasis on education, Daniil grew up very intelligent. He is an example for everyone. Often enough, athletes have very poor vocabulary and the ability to speak in complex sentences without using many "parasites" words such as "like," "you know', etc.
You never fail to delight at Press Conferences, you are simply the best. Always honest, articulate, good sense of humour. Hope you win another grand slam. Best of luck
Intelligent, articulate, never trivial, great sense of humor and I could go on. His press conferences are always gems. Together with Jannik he is my favorite tennis player
Danil is the only guy I enjoy watching as much off the court as I do on. The guy is always candid, charming, and intelligent. World #1 at the art of the presser!
This bloke Daniil is such a relax person who expresses himself freely and at ease. That is actually very good. He has achieved a lot in this sport and he plays his best at each match. Even he retires now, life is so so good for him. No need to stress out and enjoy his days. Good on him
What's not to like about this guy, the most genuine, down to earth guy on the tour. It's always a joy to watch him play, win or lose, he's always himself.
Maybe Daniil can give postmatch interviews for other players too - that would be a lot more interesting than most of the others! Anyway, he's one player I actually look forward to his post-playing days, because I know he will be a great match commentator.
He’s Jekyll and Hyde to me. Can be charming during interviews but a real jerk in matches who crosses the line to anger his opponent and break their focus. It may not be illegal but it’s unethical. Weird because he seems like a decent guy in interviews but unlikable on court.
How can anyone hate this guy?! You can see he never holds back - when he makes a mistake he admits it,when he thinks he's right he doesn't give a shit what others think, and he can put together and articulate everything so well in his interviews. Together with Novak, he's the king of the mic for my money.
@@jeansee5429 well, you can see in many tournaments that he isn't always a crowd favorite, firstly of his origin and also because he doesn't have a filter sometimes. Alkaraz doesn't have this problem for example, one of the big reasons is because he comes from the West, plus the support of all the Spanish speaking countries. Look at Đoković - 5,6 years ago he was not exactly the star of tennis, due to negative media portrait him as a villain vs Fed & Rafa... he was the best tennis player in those years, too, no.1 in the world, but he had to crush all of their records just to be equal with them.

He is such a smart player and person. I would love to have a conversation with him..his attitude of sarcasm is amazing. May Zverev should have a conversation with him😂 which is not gonna happen, then he could relax about desperately winning a GS.
we can't be correct with self-calls on ins/outs all the time. I think it has to be like- if the ball is close to me, I get to call. If I'm not sure at all, I ask. If I'm not sure but I think it's out, I just call it out even it's not 100%. I respect other person's call and I tried to believe the person's honesty, not the person's accuracy. But if I feel the person is not being honest at all, I stop playing with the person after. If other person doesn't believe me and don't respect self-call rule, I stop playing w the person after.
Compare these tennis interviews to NBA interviews. So refreshing. NBA players often feel insulted by everything and have massive attitudes and try to intimidate reporters.
4:21 Medvedev says he doesn’t like headlines. So it’s ironical that he often makes headlines. I really like him and hope he can go deep in the tournament and even win the title. All the best.
Love listening to Maddy press conferences and interviews ..he always says something interesting or funny to listen to, and unlike many other players he doesn't repeat the same phrases over and over again... i tell you i'm a big Sinner fan and he is my favorite tennnis player atm but i had to stop listening his english interviews or press conferences , they are so boring and repetitive!
I hoped, that this year WTA/ATP/ITF, would stop this nonsense of mixing sport with politics. Every player should have right to play under her/his country's flag. One cannot choose the country of one's birth. Appointing "flag police" at tennis tournaments is not even childish... it is embarrassing and insane... Wars are run by politicians not sportsmen/sportswomen. Why during the invasion of Iraq, 20 year bombing of Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen and Pakistan not to mention the genocidal Vietnam war US, Australian, UK... athletes were allowed to compete under their national flag? USA invaded Iraq in 2003 and yet their flag was still allowed at the World Cup 2006 in Germany and 2010 in South Africa despite the fact they were still in Iraq. Either ban ALL flags of countries who go to war, or don't ban any of them. Interestingly enough Israeli tennis players Mika Buchnik and Guy Sasson are allowed to play under the national flag in AO 2024 despite the policy of their government towards Palestinians in Gaza. *** All wars are equal, but some wars are more equal than others.
I agree in calling out hypocrisy of why US wars get a pass but others don't, we all know the why is because "the west" values their own more importantly and has bigger influence in sport. I don't think sports should be kept completely separate from politics though. Using sports or rather restriction of sports was useful in putting pressure on SA apartheid. Also sport is often used by countries to further push nationalism and exceptionalism to demonstrate power. To Palestinians and Ukrainians being killed by a powerful neighbouring country war isn't just some vague politics it is life and death situation. So I think they should allow players to make statements etc in protest of the war. For example Svitolina has nothing against Russian players but has made a conscious decision not to shake hands at end of matches with them to remind the world that her people are still being killed which is infinitely more important than hitting a ball over a net.
