      His parents gave him the best education. I read that education was his mom's priority, and his dad pushed for sports. Because of the emphasis on education, Daniil grew up very intelligent. He is an example for everyone. Often enough, athletes have very poor vocabulary and the ability to speak in complex sentences without using many "parasites" words such as "like," "you know', etc.

    How can anyone hate this guy?! You can see he never holds back - when he makes a mistake he admits it,when he thinks he's right he doesn't give a shit what others think, and he can put together and articulate everything so well in his interviews. Together with Novak, he's the king of the mic for my money.

      @vladiinsky 12 дней назад

      @@jeansee5429 well, you can see in many tournaments that he isn't always a crowd favorite, firstly of his origin and also because he doesn't have a filter sometimes. Alkaraz doesn't have this problem for example, one of the big reasons is because he comes from the West, plus the support of all the Spanish speaking countries. Look at Đoković - 5,6 years ago he was not exactly the star of tennis, due to negative media portrait him as a villain vs Fed & Rafa... he was the best tennis player in those years, too, no.1 in the world, but he had to crush all of their records just to be equal with them.

    we can't be correct with self-calls on ins/outs all the time. I think it has to be like-
    if the ball is close to me, I get to call. If I'm not sure at all, I ask. If I'm not sure but I think it's out, I just call it out even it's not 100%. I respect other person's call and I tried to believe the person's honesty, not the person's accuracy. But if I feel the person is not being honest at all, I stop playing with the person after. If other person doesn't believe me and don't respect self-call rule, I stop playing w the person after.

    I hoped, that this year WTA/ATP/ITF, would stop this nonsense of mixing sport with politics.
    Every player should have right to play under her/his country's flag. One cannot choose the country of one's birth.
    Appointing "flag police" at tennis tournaments is not even childish... it is embarrassing and insane...
    Wars are run by politicians not sportsmen/sportswomen.
    Why during the invasion of Iraq, 20 year bombing of Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen and Pakistan not to mention the genocidal Vietnam war US, Australian, UK... athletes were allowed to compete under their national flag?
    USA invaded Iraq in 2003 and yet their flag was still allowed at the World Cup 2006 in Germany and 2010 in South Africa despite the fact they were still in Iraq.
    Either ban ALL flags of countries who go to war, or don't ban any of them.
    Interestingly enough Israeli tennis players Mika Buchnik and Guy Sasson are allowed to play under the national flag in AO 2024 despite the policy of their government towards Palestinians in Gaza.
    ***
    All wars are equal, but some wars are more equal than others.

    • @Somone_final_final_v2
      @Somone_final_final_v2 13 дней назад +1

      I agree in calling out hypocrisy of why US wars get a pass but others don't, we all know the why is because "the west" values their own more importantly and has bigger influence in sport. I don't think sports should be kept completely separate from politics though. Using sports or rather restriction of sports was useful in putting pressure on SA apartheid. Also sport is often used by countries to further push nationalism and exceptionalism to demonstrate power.
      To Palestinians and Ukrainians being killed by a powerful neighbouring country war isn't just some vague politics it is life and death situation. So I think they should allow players to make statements etc in protest of the war. For example Svitolina has nothing against Russian players but has made a conscious decision not to shake hands at end of matches with them to remind the world that her people are still being killed which is infinitely more important than hitting a ball over a net.

      Here in Odessa we are afraid of being hunted down by the Zelensky's press gangs, who forcibly "recruit" 25-60 year old men in our streets, shopping malls, restaurants, fitness clubs public transport...and - recently - roadblocks.
      The only men not press ganged into Ukrainian Army are relatives of politicians and ... grave diggers.
      I rest my case.
      Привіт Тобі з окупованої бандерівською сволотою Одеси

      Bravo, very good point! I agree in all you wrote. This “thing” with not showing flags at Russian and Belarus athletes is so stupid and primitive. I would like to meet the person(s) who invented that!!! 🤔🤨

    I think this guy cheats when he goes off court for a toilet break, it upsets the other opponent , very disrespectful....I cannot remember Bjorn Borg, or John McEnroe doing this when either was losing...not very fair

      ...but it's only problem with you not with Danil,...I like to listen 👂👁️ and look at face expression, because everyone could learn something from claver people, specially in tennis world 🌎 from Novak Đoković and Danil Medvedev...

    Daniil is great guy. Im Novak’s fun but I like Meddy as well. He is so sincere and simple, behaves like totally normal person. Wish him all the best!!!
