    Loved this one - shoulders were sore at the beginning after a big day of volunteer work yesterday cleaning a community pub in the Lake District (The Mardale Inn at St Patricks Well in Bampton) - but loved the bicep curls standing on one leg - could not have done that a few months ago - a great workout for a hotel room or small bedroom!!

    My chiropractor was quite surprised by how much my problematic thoracic area has loosened. I've always worked on it a lot at the gym, but it's obvious that using the resistance band (and doing more upper body-concentrated yoga) has made a big difference. I began using your videos because I couldn't go to the gym, and I'm glad that I did. Obviously, I also need resistance band work. (I'm also doing some of the lower body routines as an adjunct to some p.t. exercises.) Thank you, again, for the great workouts.

    This is really good for my shoulders. I had two Reebok resistance bands, and I broke one of the intertwined cords in one and I didn't want it to break and snap on me so I threw it out and I am using my second resistance band. I've been doing it for a couple weeks, now, and I feel like that it is helping me in my upper body movements in my Salsa Zoom dance class.

    • @Vanessabhealthtv
      @Vanessabhealthtv  4 года назад +1

      Hi Thomas great to hear! That's good you can feel it helps with other exercises too 😀👌 yep the bands can sometimes break. Check if you should be powdering them, this helps with maintenance. Also get a couple of different resistance levels so you are using a stronger band for stronger moves. Some break quicker than others in many brands though. @@Vanessabhealthtv Your welcome, VanessaB! You really check all the boxes with these three videos, in my opinion. It's amazing how small movements while keeping tension on the band can work those smaller supportive structures.. I like knowing that I am strengthening these often neglected yet vital muscles. Too many people are focused on big biceps and the whole vanity/ego trip. I want balance, and your way makes sense. When I do these vids, I'm left feeling like my shoulders and back can withstand whatever activity I may encounter, and that my chances of getting injured are reduced considerably. Like a natural insurance policy! The first thought that comes to mind is perhaps a video that deals with toning and strengthening the legs. So many people lose their balance and leg strength as they get older, which puts them at risk. The old axiom, "the legs are the first thing to go" is so true, I think. Just an idea but whatever you come up with is always met with great anticipation.

    • @Vanessabhealthtv
      @Vanessabhealthtv  5 лет назад

      @@steveo8015 thank goodness that's music to my ears in knowing you 'get' the bigger picture of health and exercise beyond big biceps, haha. That's exactly what I want to help people with- a more balanced approach to exercise and life! Great to know you and many others are like-minded 😉 I like the idea of a leg strength video as I haven't done one of these in a while! Have a great week, keep up your exercise efforts ✌🤗

      @@Vanessabhealthtv The fitness industry was fixated on "big guns" and "what do you bench" for as long as I can remember. I'm a fan of functional fitness, and not just because it helps you to function better, but it's FUN! I "get" it because of dedicated, talented and passionate people like you who are willing to share their time and knowledge for the benefit of anyone who is willing to listen and learn. Part 1&2 shoulder and back videos are great, and part 3 is every part their equal. Your message, and enthusiasm are just what is needed in these times of sedentary lifestyles and technology addiction. So many people have trouble climbing steps, walking up hills, even getting out of a chair, and injuries due to falls and poor balance are on the rise. A leg video could not be more timely, I would think. Thank you Vanessa for making a difference in peoples lives, and for doing it with such charm and grace!

      @Vanessabhealthtv  5 лет назад

      @@steveo8015 excellent mindset you have. Yes I agree, when I worked firstly in a body building gym in my early 20s, then other various gyms it was always about the 'bench press!' I did learn alot and those techniques are ok to a degree, but there comes a point where your body does not like or need that approach any more. You are right with sedentary lifestyles and technology addiction we need to keep moving in a functional and holistic way! 👌💪 Thanks 4 sharing your views, I'm totally with you and I hope more people appreciate this holistic approach to fitness and wellness. I'm off to film the leg video now! Will post next week ✌
