    As somebody with Kyokushin foundation, I always felt little bit like fish out of water practicioning wingchun. With Silat/kali/arnis I kinda see more hope in being able to actually use my body more intuitively. I always admired moves with keramibt and sticks, just never knew where to look =D

      Well Im in the process of choosing. Several schools opened here in Prague, I just don't know which are legit =D there is one from MAUL MORNIE(one of his students), than here we have Tomas Severa - trained in International Kali Arnis Eskrima Federation and then we have Kali pekiti-tirsla system -> I keep seeing name: GrandTuhona Leo T. Gaje here. Maybe few others. Not sure where to go - probably gonna have to try everything =D as it is in life.

    So interesting! Comparing empty hand Kali to Aikido. Panantukan coming from weapon-arts Kali like stick and knife. Aikido came from sword-fighting arts mainly. More alike than you might think.
    I've been studying Kali almost a year. I have a friend who's been studying Aikido. More similarities than differences. So many parallels.

    The empty hand technique is the more advanced way of kali.after you master the armed Kali only then you can progress to empty hands.

  • @cyberrode
    @cyberrode 4 года назад

    seeing the "flow" encourages me more to learn the "weapon" as by hand. but yeah im a left handed guy, currently practicing with twirling as right handed with a stick.

    • @413MediaGroup
      @413MediaGroup  4 года назад

      My teacher is also left handed, and he always said that you should practice with your least dominant hand. Which my teacher calls the “GOOD HAND”

    • @cyberrode
      @cyberrode 4 года назад +1

      @@413MediaGroup my mentor/master said the similar thing. He added also that when the time comes you teach your "dominant" hand it will come more easy. Thanks for the tip btw. :)

      Kai Cruz thank you for your comment. But what do you think now?

    • @MrSquirreller
      @MrSquirreller 6 лет назад

      The moves look uncomplicated, efficient, and effective. I'd probably take classes to complement it w/ Kali if it was available in Metro Manila.

    • @413MediaGroup
      @413MediaGroup  6 лет назад +1

      Kai Cruz there are plenty of Filipino Martial Arts Group. Isla Mandirigma with Guro Roland Isla Guro AA Quidlat or Guro Joemar Obejas from Rapido Realisimo Kali

    • @413MediaGroup
      @413MediaGroup  6 лет назад

      Ramen Azul there are some Silat practitioners in the Philippines. So there is some FMA and Silat intermixed. Did you happen to watch our video with Alvin Guinanao from Silat Buka Lingkaran?

    • @NabilAbdulrashidComedy
      @NabilAbdulrashidComedy 6 лет назад

      413Group my first experience of silat was Alvin guinano and I currently do Filipino martial arts now similar to silat!

      You also have to realize that most south east asian countries were descendent from the malayo-polynesian race. That race developed silat and kali and then passed it on to those who would later settled in their respective lands. Thats why theres pencak silat in indonesia, silat melayu from malaysia and lastly kali silat in the philippines.

    • @wilb6657
      @wilb6657 5 лет назад

      I heard that Kali and Silat come from the same roots, and that Kali/Arnis/Eskrima is really just Silat that has been influenced by European(Spanish) fencing techniques.

    • @JB-bi6vm
      @JB-bi6vm 2 года назад

      Silat and Kali are like brother and sisters. Philippines and Indonesia were united. Silat was practiced by the muslims and Kali by the illocanos. When the two nations were split Indonesian became a Muslim nation and the Philippines Muslims and Christians. Silat is practiced in the southern regions of the Philippines that is mainly Muslims and Kali the rest of the country.
