      Oh i think ur mistaken.... When learning arnis/kali/eskrima actually before they teach u the strikes they first condition ur body for the proper technique.. one of the system of kali is tempering the grips and the hardening the femural and brachials.... It ia not shown in the vids and also modern kali is so moderate the real tempering is the master will hit u while u are practicing ur strike on the tree.. the grip strength of a conditioned Eskrimador is like of a conditioned judo practitioner

    From my experiance in working as a bouncer i can tell you that wrist lock or arm manipulation will not be that effective on someone who resist. It's best to soften him up first before iniating any of those moves. Speed, suprised and violent of action is the Key to Survival in real fight .

    Those moves look complex in slow motion. It would take years to be able to actually pull that off against an attacker and even then the odds of one pulling it off would be slim.

    • @andrewvillanueva3722
      @andrewvillanueva3722 2 года назад +1

      I have taken escrima for 15 years and it's all about muscle memory like in a martial arts. You just react to the attack and defeat it with any technique that you have practiced thousands of times through the years. My professor always say just react no thinking. I have been surprised by friends trying to test me but they quickly learned that it was a bad idea.

    Good luck applying these techniques in a real combat situation. Everything happens so fast and you won't have time to do all this. Better to slip the punches and find an opening to strike. After you've struck and stunned your opponent you can apply some sort of technique to bring him down to the ground.
