My father & I took my Vietnam War veteran grandfather to Washington D.C. several years ago for the first time for him to see the Vietnam War Memorial Wall. He got drafted in the late 1960s & he got injured by shrapnel from a land mine (in addition to getting shot), so he got sent home & received a Purple Heart. However, 6 of his buddies didn't make it back home, so before the trip he made a list of all of their names & where they were located on The Wall. As he found each on The Memorial Wall, he got very emotional knowing that he managed to come home (though injured), get married, have 3 sons, & live another 50 years, but 6 of his friends didn't.

Unlike Vietnamese people at that time, they hadnt had any safe haven to come back from injured, to get married, to have kids, to have ONLY six buddies died from the war until the war ended. We normally have HUNDREDS of friends and relatives died here and there. So, thanks USA from comming uninvitedly. Yeah, the US veterans are the Biggest victims of the war.

It's said that Ho Chi Minh then named (Nguyen Ai Quoc) was actually in Paris in 1919 and sought to petition the League of Nations for Independence from France, but it fell on deaf ears so he then embraced the French Socialist Party and the works of Lenin and Marx. Minh actually liked the idea of the United States and used the Declaration of Independence as motivation for his fight for Vietnamese Independence. After having travelled to Vietnam recently and seeing their perspective of the ‘American war’ you learn how cruel the Americans were with their use of tiger cages and tortured methods and senseless slaughter of innocents which really highlighted how biased the western view of the war is. 3 million Vietnamese were killed and the lasting effects of agent orange affected thousands and people to this day. Among Ho Chi Minh's collected works, published in 1960, was the essay "The Path Which Led Me To Leninism". In this essay, Ho Chi Minh states:
"At first, patriotism, not yet communism, led me to have confidence in Lenin, in the Third International. Step by step, along the struggle, by studying Marxism-Leninism parallel with participation in practical activities, I gradually came upon the fact that only socialism and communism can liberate the oppressed nations and the working people throughout the world from slavery."
The point being that Ho Chi Minh did not see any contradiction between patriotism and communism, and in fact believed that you could not have serious patriotism without a communist society which would rid the nations of the vestiges of imperialism. If you don't believe me you can google it, but that quote is a misquote that people throw around a lot without finding the full original statement. Just normal historical facts but you are wrong about the "𝗆аssаᴄre" by Vietᴄоng soldiers, rather call this a product of U.S. forces. At least two French reporters entered the NVA's area, they were initially arrested on suspicion of spying but then allowed to move freely around and take pictures. No panic was seen on the part of the people and they were released to the other side just before the war escalated when the U.S. started dropping NAPALMS. Furthermore, when shown the deep pits containing bodies allegedly by the NVA, reporters all raised questions. Apparently, the North army didn't have the motorized means to dig such deep holes and even do it right before they rushed off. Ask yourself why every time enemies of the US military make major advances, "humanitarian crimes" are committed? It's ironic that after all the big lies to the world from the False Flag Empire like America: Operation Nоrtһwооԁ, Gulf of Tоnkіn, Bay of Pіɡs, Sаԁԁam Hussein's chemical weapons, Μ𝗒 Lаі 𝗆аssаᴄre... you guys still choose to continue to lay trust in it? Nixon trying to convince China and the USSR to give up on Vietnam through diplomacy is quite possibly one of the worst presidential decisions ever made. Communist china was halfway to becoming a failed state like Cuba, but rather than continue embargoing them, he foolishly thought that he could convince them to abandon their ally by lifting embargoes. Rather than convince them, he got played like a fiddle. China and Russia just continued to support Vietnam, and China began to economically improve. Now Vietnam is known as one of America’s greatest defeats, and China is now the most dangerous superpower to democracy and the United States. Oh and since they’re going to demographically collapse in 10-15 years due to the One Child Policy, they’ll probably declare war to take Taiwan within that time period. Thanks Nixon!

Actually, this comparison is especially effective because the landlords treated the tenants and peasants on their lands like actual slaves.

Because they are human, many of the North Vietnamese landlords was indeed wrongly treated. Land reforms are necessary for that period to re-distribute wealth more evenly, I do not attest to that, if not even support that. Yet the land reforms in NV not only did not result in compensation for the owners but also led to many deaths.
The land reform was chaotic as it was lead by greed and long-built hatred and many commoners was peer-pressured by others to throw accusations towards the now powerless landlord class, because they do not want to be seen as "land-lord sympathizer" accusations that they would not have thrown otherwise. My great great grandfather was a minor landlord, he is known in the region for giving out generous loan and a significant of those were not required to be given back. When he was accused on the grounds of his wealth, he was executed. Yet because of his good deeds and lack of evil, many peasants, powerless to protect him, instead did what they can to repay, they buried him and marked his body. Thanks to that, decades later after unification, my family were able to go back to North Vietnam (from SV) to find his body and properly bury it; a blessing as many bodies were never marked and found.
Another point is that a large number of the landlords that are executed were supporters of Viet Minh as they used their wealth to aid the revolution with many of their children are serving military within the People's army. For example, Nguyễn Thị Năm, a wealthy businesswomen and land-owner in North Vietnam contributed endless wealth and land towards the cause of revolution. Her property used to house many important figure in NV like Võ Nguyễn Giáp, Lê Đức Thọ, Trường Chinh. Her two sons were in the People's army and she was the leader of the Vietnam Women's Union in her province yet it did not stop her to become one of the earliest victim if execution in the land-reform.
Ho Chi Minh lost all his de-facto power in the VCP after the land-reform for a reason, he had to do an official apology to the public for a reason after the land-reform was done, not because of the idea of land-reform but how it was chaotically conducted and how many it killed.

That's why the US shouldn't go messing with people who they have no business messing with. They could destroy south America in order to keep profiting, but they couldn't destroy Vietnam because they got what was coming to them. I see the loss of the war as payback. The vast majority of the south vietnamese people literally wanted to unite with Ho Chi Minh, but the US wanted money, so we go in and lose horribly. And on top of that, we treated our own so poorly that it became arguably the most psychologically taxing war we've fought as a result, or at least tying with the conflict in the middle east.
