Great panel, insightful questions and everyone really articulated each point well - I'm glad we have creators out there that are cognizant of their audiences (and) even though the relationship is that of viewer and streamer (parasocial in nature) that we don't treat each other, anything other than human. It's a two way relationship in that way, the viewer should also be mindful of how they impact the streamer, but having a space where people that maybe don't have that other third space to open up into, is a valuable thing to have and know exists. Side note, Pix singing each night really brings out the best in people, it can be disarming but in a good way in that it may lighten the mood after a heavy topic, through to simply making people happy in general - even with the sad songs people request (surely a bit cathartic for a range of people) through to the more upbeat songs and dancing, really gets people into a good mood to end the night.

Really interesting panel. I think how you deal with mental health topics is very creator dependent. Particularly when it comes to dealing with community members.
That being said, the woman at the far side did not come across particularly well. While setting boundaries is important. Some of her advice\comments just came across as jaded and disconnected.

I don't know your gender but I suspect you may lack insight and empathy for what female streamers have to deal with on a daily basis. "If they won't listen ban them" is not jaded or disconnected, it's very empowering advice.

I'd encourage you to watch Pix's stream. Pix, the mods and the community are lovely people, but once you see what women and the mods have to go through all the time online, you'll understand why certain behaviours are taken care of more swiftly - and to be clear, Pix and the mods give people a lot of rope, will engage with users and have conversations, I'd say she's anything other than jaded/disconnected, quite the opposite.

@@ToastRackTV I am female, a former streamer and a BACP registered Psychotherapist. So you are incorrect on all accounts.
I was not inferring she was incorrect in the information she delivered. In many cases, a ban is an appropriate remedy. However, the manner in which she presented said information was poor.
The reality is, that when it comes to addressing mental health issues and supporting vulnerable community members, I believe that streaming platforms have an obligation to provide some readily accessible support\training for creators.
